    Serve isn't as reliable or strong as you'd like it to be? This video is the last one you'll ever have to watch.
    The pickleball serve can be challenging for some players, even being the only shot you can control completely because you toss the ball to yourself. It takes more talent for most people to generate a lot of power onto a ball that is simply hanging there and has no energy on it to begin with. Approaching speed does not provide you with any assistance that you may employ as rebound energy. You must produce all of your own force and direct it toward the ball. It can be challenging to hit this shot hard and precisely.
    In this video, we go through serving advice and techniques that can result in a strong and efficient pickleball serve. After seeing this video, we'd guarantee that your serve will be rectified if it feels off now. #pickleballstrategy #pickleballtips #pickleballhowtoplay

    I watch your videos all the time. The serve interests me because an ‘older’ player commented that my serve ( which is a strong point for me) was ‘side-armed’! Now I find myself trying to make sure I go WAY UNDER HANDED which has me serving into the net or out of bounds more! After watching this video…I am frustrated with ‘his’ trying to alter me! FYI. I am 72…he is closer to 80…I have only been playing since May of 2022 and he has played for several years. And NO I didn’t ASK for his input! 😂 (I was a bowler and tennis player in my younger days). So a video which will strengthen my game and keep him on his side of the court! 🙄 Enjoy your videos!

    Terrific content as usual! Since we know we'll be serving the ball (and receiving) every game it deserves extra attention. Like you said we have total control over the serve so it demands extra practice. So many beginners and intermediate players seem to neglect working on the serve, an easy way to elevate your game! Cheers!👍👍

    You guys should make a video on how to not let bad shots get in your head. Very often I see players make a mistake and then tense up and overcompensate which leads to more errors. Short term memory is needed for both your good and bad shots

    • @mhaag1619
      @mhaag1619 Год назад +2

      Great point/question. One key I've found useful is to observe every point/shot as neither good or bad, and just try to focus on observing what took place. We get in our heads when we judge ourselves or our opponents as good or bad, lucky or skilled, etc. We shouldn't spend time mentally celebrating or berating ourselves, instead we should focus on performing each step in a point to the best of our abilities. Does that make sense?

    Thanks for the video - I think it will help my serve a lot. I am interested in learning more about the types of holds & when to use them. I've noticed some paddlers using a finger behind the paddle and others having more of a handshake grip. I never played tennis so I don't have a lot of experience with handle grips but I assume when you are using different shots you may change your grip. You mentioned using a 3:10 grip in the video so maybe you can explain what that means as well. I appreciate the work you put into the videos.
