That’s pretty a slick sky car !
I’ve only very been around one when I was logging !
Thanks for a great video!
Hey thanks for watching. They are awesome machines and are super durable considering the amount of abuse they take.
I've been using one at work those are nice.
Man I wish I had one of those when I was logging!!!!
They sure make things nice. We were south bending with this car frequently.
I don’t get it. What is point of motorized carriage if haul back is running through it and down to logs? Most I’ve seen, the haul back is anchored on carriage. And then carriage has motor and winch inside to lift logs. It seems unnecessary. Unless it’s one of those weirdo foreign jobs that powers itself up and down the skyline? They looks slow as heck, but very safe for downhill work.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy. I've been told that the skycars with a winch inside is very fast and efficient. I have never used one before so I can't say what its like. I've only ever been around the slack pulling carriages. For a partial clearcut and thinning slack pulling cars are great and we have used them downhill logging they work well. I know that you need a skyline clamping carriage to have better control of the turn when working in thinning and partial clearcuts to minimize damage to standing timber, where as the drum cars don't have a skyline clamp and would be used more for full clearcuts, where you have the ability to get maximum production that is my rough understanding hopefully someone that is more knowledgable than myself will comment and fill in the gaps. Have a great Christmas !
Great question!!!
Thanks for the explanation.
you are very welcome ! @@TonaldDrump686
Tell them to give 3 and 3 on the carriage with out slacking the skyline
Yup I would get fired between buttons and whistles I wouldn't stand a chance
Josh Welner man I hear ya. I took awhile in the hot seat to learn all the functions and how to use em without being hard on the skycar, it cost $70,000 new back in 2015
Daniel Boone's logging video's yup there isn't any industry that's cheap is there
