  • As snow season begins to wind down we are starting to turn our attention back to pool work. We need the dump truck for a few upcoming projects so we spent the day removing the plow and salt spreader and cleaning everything up.

Would be nice making a equipment maintenance video as well. Wash, service , fluid film , paint touch up all that good stuff.

That is a good feeling when the salt spreader comes out! I found it's easier and better to stand the spreader up and hit the drag chain really good and spray it down with lube. We've used several different types of spray including Fluid Film, WD-40 and found this spray call Endura (blue can with blue cap) and it sticks around all summer. I know you said your not done 100% yet but I'd cover it too. There's 2 more systems coming for our area this week then I think we're in the clear to at least take one spreader out (my truck) so I can go pick up our 5th wheel camper!!

It's a good feeling to take it out of a truck until the news talks about a freak storm hitting and dumps a ton on ya

Did you wash and oil the drag chain and sprockets really good before you put it away? Trust me on those poly casters they will be rusted solid if you didn't

We didn’t get any footage but we washed everything and piled and greased everything. We will be doing a final service on it at the beginning of April before it does into storage for the summer

@@crowleypoolservices what I do with mine is I take an old pump sprayer I fill with 2/3 dyed diesel 1/3 used motor oil and spray it heavy on the drag chain. Then spray it down with a little diesel before installing start of next season. Never had an issue so far.
