Great video. I used to work in GTNP and this brings me back. I remember early summer being frustrating. The main Snake can be in full blown runoff until August, and you have to experiment with the tributaries (just like you did here) to avoid a skunking!
So when you’re fishing in dark water and you can’t see very good go to larger size flies in darker colors for instance of first thing that comes to mind would be a black Willy bugger and then quit throwing halfway across the river on your first toss fish up close you won’t scare as many off in the process
Ive had the pleasure to visit the Tetons on our way home from WY to CA, wish we got to camp there, but we did get to stop at a couple of spots and get some photo opportunities and small hikes, thanks for sharing. That creek looks pretty fast, could you catch fish in speeds like that?
Thanks! It’s a simms bag, not sure if they make this exact model anymore. I’ve had it for about 6 years. Closest thing to it on their website is the Freestone hip pack.
Fished the Tetons with my dad in 2005. You could rent a cabin for 2 weeks for close to 1,000 a week. Now 1,000 dollars in that area is laughed at. Very sad to see the area of Jackson hole turn completely into a 1 percent vacation location.
Jackson Hole turned into a Billionaire club and unfortunately that has now spilled over into Driggs and Victor Idaho. Early 2020 a nice few acres and house there could cost 200-300k now a million easily for anything decent. I see half acre trailer park lots go for 200-300k now. Thanks Biden!
Broken rod = Broken heart. To be sympathetic, and this is no fish story, I’ve broken a rod on my first outing in Jackson every year for the past five years. That’s right, every single year, first day on WY water, a new replacement rod broken. The name of the rod co. begins with an “O” and ends with an ”s.” After this year, I refuse to donate $99. for another replacement. Unreal!
Watch out another key board warrior over here! I’m sure you don’t even have to take your out of the water because you couldn’t land a trout if you had to. I didn’t see anything that seemed like he miss handled a fish that whole video. That water is ice cold and not even close to being warm which is the real problem when handling trout. I know that water is cold because I fish it.
@@FSBrodyI got your back and you don’t need a reminder. He would hate me because I keep the fish I catch to eat. (Obviously they are legal to keep. Fun fact on the Teton you can keep unlimited number of rainbow and cutbows… trying to bring back more pure cutthroats. In fact they encourage you to harvest them)
Nice to see someone who doesn't need to be catching 20 inchers to be stoked! Great video.
@@alsyoutube thanks! Gotta appreciate the small ones too!

@@stevewest6133 thanks! That must have been a cool job working in the park.
Thanks for using a microphone windscreen. So many fishing videos ar nothing but wind noise.
I wanna ski and fish the Tetons so much!
The skiing is also awesome. 10/10 recommend going.
Better have some money and plenty of it.

Bro I swear every video you add another place I need to visit to my list
Such a cool place up there
I fished that river quite a bit. Salmon fly hatch is incredible, but short
Couldn’t believe the amount of casings I saw.
Living only a few miles from it I can agree with you.

Yes that clear creek is actually a great spot, not sure what I was doing wrong honestly. Good thing that main river had such good fishing.
Were you on the west or east side of the Tetons? Just curious. Thanks. Great video.
@@DonStieler east side
Where did you get that bag from that is on your hip I really like and would want to know where to get it? Thanks and awesome vid!

The debris damn spot goes crazy! Also does the river website tell me how the river feels? Like emotionally?
Yes the emotions and all the stuff you need to know
Yes, even romantically.
That first fish that snapped ur rod was prolly a monster
I wish it was a fish 😅. It was totally a rock.
@@FSBrody lmfao 🤣
DANG! What 4wt rod did you break? Looked like you did nothing to deserve that break.
It was an old graphite rod my grandpa made in the early 90s. It was a bummer to see her go.
@@FSBrody I guess it could be considered glorious as well?

That rod break was just…😢 😔
It was defiantly a bummer.
@@FSBrody what happened there? was it just a rod issue?
@@samwell7640 not sure honestly. It was an older rod, might have just been normal wear.

Yeah if I could move up there I would, but it’s one of the most expensive places in the country. Luckily, camping is still cheap

Gros Ventre???
Def looks like WY side right before canyon more like down closer to Hoback area. @FSBrody?
Yessir
Little bit more south. Would like to try that river next time.
Definitely get hoback vibes
