"God's art".....so refreshing to my spirit to hear that, Gina! Thank you, and thank you for another lovely project! It's fun to find things in nature we can ink and stamp. When I was growing up on our farm in central Illinois, I took things like a corn cob, inked it up, and rolled it across a piece of paper. Rocks, leaves, my cat's paws, pressed weed blossoms, soybean pods, ....anything I thought looked interesting I inked up and pressed onto paper. Ah...the childhood days of being a stamper! : ) Some of my early "inks" were simply mud I mixed up in an old bucket and stamped onto the concrete sidewalk near our well house! Let it dry in the sun and admired my "art!" And....what better stamp than one's own hand! My mother would take pictures of my hand prints and my sisters' on that concrete after we were done. It was all ok until one day I decided to stamp my muddy hand prints all over the side of the newly painted white chicken house! It was a huge "canvas!" I was ordered to take scrub brush and bucket of water and scrub it all off!
Such a great idea, Gina!! When the sun comes out tomorrow I'll be trolling my yard for some lovely leaves to give this a try. What a great idea to make a set of gift cards and the little ones would love to help too. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. ~HUGS~ #kindnessmatters
Love these cards simple but elegant. Im a summer girl so I dont look forward to winter but I do love the colour of the autumn leaves. I usually collect a few to copy and colour with coloured pencils but I will try this next autumn.
Just found this video of yours. I remember making leaf prints with my boys when they were in school. It was fun but we used tempera paint. These cards so remind me of that time.
Love these! I used a similar technique one time using leaves and acrylic paint instead of ink to do an acrylic painting on canvas. Turned out really pretty. So maybe if we look around our house we'll discover so many things to use in our art, we won't have to buy so many art supplies! Not! Lol!
This is so simple and so pretty. It's kindergarten for grownups! What fun. I'm going to do these for Thanksgiving. By the way, I loved it that you called leaves, "God's art". He is an amazing artist, creating beauty from bud to leaf fall.
P Steelman I am in an area of the country where we have tons of leaves. If you know how to direct message, I would be more than happy to send you some if you will send me your address ☺
LOVE FALL! LOVE WALKS IN FALL! LOVE THIS PROJECT! Can't wait to go "leaf collecting"! Thanks so much, Gina, for this great idea! Another thought~~~since you and I BOTH love sparkle, it might be cool to try splattering/flicking a bit of gold Wink of Stella on the ivory cs after you've stamped the leaf...and then attach! I'm going to give that a try, too! Happy Stampin'! :-))
Gina you make my heart so happy! Using Gods art. And u rGods angel bringing this to life for us! For that I thank u and I have learned so much from u and will continue to do so! Bless your heart! Thank u so very much!,
I just love this idea , Gina! The funny thing is yesterday I bought a leaf stamp. I guess I should have waited another day! lol Thank you for your videos! I am expecting an order from you soon. Can't wait until I get my goodies! June
Beautiful cards, Gina! I especially like the purple one--really unique. I would think you could also go over the inked leaf with a brayer (cardstock between that & the leaf, of course) to get an even better impression. Tfs! :)
Thanks Gina! I'm in New England and take walks every day, so now I can craft while I walk! I'm going to try your technique, and I'm also curious to see what happens if I run the inked leaf and paper through the Cuttlebug. You were one of the first craft teachers for me, and I've learned so many beautiful techniques. Grateful!
Thank you for the great idea. I can't find any Fall stamps anywhere. Sold out! So glad you reminded me of what we have right in our own backyard. I love this!!! Simple, quick, and, BEAUTIFUL Gina! Hugs, and Grateful for you!
beautiful cards made with beautiful nature...here in Australia we have a beautiful liquid amber tree & the leaves go dozens of colours...I picked several & loaded them into my printer & made a lovely backgound paper
Oh my, Gina! These are beautiful! I have always loved fall leaves and fall colors decorate my home. I have an old Tee shirt that I purchased at an art gallery owned by Tennessee University. The art students there display and sell their work. It's not on campus but tucked up on a mountain overlooking Center Hill Lake. It's an awesome place to visit. It's called The Appalachian Center for Crafts (if anyone is interested). Anyway, I bought a shirt there about 25 years ago that was covered with real leaf prints in some kind of fabric paint. It has been my favorite shirt and I still wear it around the house even though it has small holes in it! I can't bear to part with it. I wish I knew how to do it myself. This reminded me of that. Also, I have collected pretty leaves and dipped them in melted paraffin to preserve them and displayed them on table tops etc. Thanks for this great idea!
Simple, but yet so beautiful. Thank you Gina for the great tutorial 💜 I will definitely be trying this one. They would make excellent Thanksgiving cards.💟💟💟
I have a tree with beautiful leaves and when I pick a few of them I like to use my leaf punches and punch out the natural leaves and put them in a book to dry then arrange them on a card. Sometimes I make a wreath using them.
Such beautiful cards and a great idea! I remember doing the wax paper and iron method for school projects. This brings back those memories. Will have to try this. Thanks for sharing.
Wow how awesome Gina! I can't believe your leaves have changed already! It's like the summer we never had here in Ontario Canada so this technique will have to wait a bit lol I think this would make a lovely box set gift!
Hi Gina. I'm wondering how these would work if run through a cuttlebug...not too tight, but just enough to get an even impression. I'm going to give it a go. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Gina, last week I picked some leaves from my yard and I tapped the back of the leaf into 3 different colors of Distress ink and put it on watercolor paper, I placed a scrap piece of paper over the top so I could rub it to get a good impression. What I got was a blotchy image but I took a brush and a little bit of water and blended the colors without touching the veining... what I ended up with looked like a water colored fall leaf.... :)

Hi Gina. I'm wondering how these would work if run through a cuttlebug...not too tight, but just enough to get an even impression. I'm going to give it a go. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Let me know how it works!
Sounds beautiful! XO
