  • Jim has been iconic in the Reno / Sparks area of Northern Nevada for his conscientiously performed wheel alignments, which is a result of his 51 years of experience at Sunshine Service. As you can see, he's working in an old fashioned alignment pit, so that the work can be performed at a high level. The alignment machine is a very late model Hunter alignment machine which has the ability to do cars, light trucks, medium duty trucks and heavy duty trucks, such as semi trucks. We also do a lot of motorhome alignments and trailer axle alignments, in which case the axles are slightly bent to return them to original spec's, aligning the wheels to track perfectly behind the towing vehicle, keyed on the king pin and making slight adjustment compensations for road crown. In the end, you save tire wear and tracking of the vehicle is absolutely straight, much better than what comes from the manufacturer, where they do little to adjust for alignment on trailers.

In case anyone asks, this video is just a candid shot of one of our great technicians, Jim Matt, performing a pre-alignment front end "shake down", as it's called, to determine if anything needs to be addressed before the alignment heads are attached and we get the pre-alignment wheel readings, in advance of making any necessary adjustments to get the alignment dialed in correctly. Jim has working at Sunshine Service for 51 years this year. There is a very old school work ethic displayed here in this video.
