I’m picking up mine in 2 days, I went with the satin dark green and it has green metallic sparkle, was not expecting to love the green. I also put Ratio’s on all my Gibsons, was very nice to see a preview 🤘
FYI - the original screw holes will show…none of the ratio mounting plates work with the mini Grovers. I drilled two holes underneath to use the two little “bumps” on the tuners to hold them.
Holy crap!!! I want it!!!!! I’ve been looking to swap the single coils in my black Strat for two humbuckers…..but this thing is IT. I need it! And I LOVE the Explorer headstock!
Thanks for the video! 🤘 I've struggled with liking Strats and Teles and I'm not a fan of trem systems, but I do enjoy some occasional single coil snappiness. I feel like this might be what I've been looking for. It looks amazing, has a hard tail, and I dig the Explorer headstock. The gold and black also gives off some reverse ebony LP Custom vibes!
Nice. Amazing sounds. Have to agree with you on pretty much every point - the headstock is the only right choice in the Gibson lineup, it needs more (or just better) color options, and a trem. But it's awesome.
First - This sounds great!!! Very 80's with your amp settings.. Nice to look at! I like the offset dots inlays. The head stock - Nor here nor there, its fine. Could have done a modern update to it. Your playing is real nice - this is a big plus for Gibson trying move some these. Color ehhh, Metalic is getting over played no. Maybe a cool translucent and let the wood come through. But over all... Dammmmmmm! I want one NOW!!
My brother from another mother maybe? Sweet choice of songs!!! I'm curious if you might be able to compare the 80s tribute bridge pickup to a Duncan JB. Big difference or pretty similar?
This is also by far my fav colour of the new Victorys, hard to understand why they didnt made some in blue, both metallic and translucent, and black to appeal the metal guys. Also a trem one would be great, maybe not a floyd, bur something like a Wilkinson, some kind of modern kind of trem bridge.
I think this may be the Gibson I've been waiting for. Do you like the QC Nano? I have the QC and the Nano just look way too complicated. Still curious to check one out.
The Nano is my very first foray into the Neural world…been thinking about a QC for awhile and thought this would be an easier and cheaper way to see what I thought, as I’m more than happy with my Kempers. I do like the Nano…it’s very easy to use IMO. I use mine kind of weird tho…through my Kemper’s effects loop with no (Kemper profile active) so I’m able to put the Kemper effects both in front of the Nano and after, and it works great for me. Probably not an easy way to use it in a live setting, but works great for recording.
Well I have a couple of those…the cherry one I’ve made a video for and an older Pelham blue one…the blue one is one of my all-timers so I’d pick that one for sure…it’s a closer battle between the cherry one and the Victory. They’re both great guitars…I wouldn’t pick between them hence why I have both. I’ll say I’d take the Victory for playing metal and hard rock, SG for the rest.
@@EJBGuitar Thank you for that. I bounce back and forth between genre's so much, I probably do need both then. I'll be playing Mr. Crowley from Ozzy, and then bounce over to Andy Timmons. I recently got a Mesa 4x12, and I'm still getting my ears used to the extra low end that I didn't get from my Mesa Mark V 25W. All my guitars sound different now.
Or a better looking PRS for those of us that don’t like PRS! More like the Vela was a copy of this since this shape predated the Vela by over 20 years.
@@EJBGuitar Sure 👍👍 I'd expect nothing less from a douchetuber 🙄 Oh your opinion is different than mine, so I better get defensive..Let me guess next I'm going to be called a troll for having an opinion that's different? So lame...
@@AbstractZombie-ed8fj 😵💫 Didn’t you just call the Victory a trashy copy?!? C’mon man…nobody is getting defensive. Just a comment. What makes your preference of a PRS over this any different than my preference for this over a PRS?!? Nice of you to instantly call me douchetuber! It’d be nice if we guitarists could just be cool with each other, wouldn’t it?
@@EJBGuitar Ummmm me saying it's a trash copy isn't being defensive, it's a subjective comment you'd definitely be wiser to learn the difference 🙄 But in typical Gibson fanyboy edict nobody is allowed to have an opinion other than Gibson is the best!
@AbstractZombie-ed8fj yeah, cuz I said you couldn’t have an opinion! I don’t give a crap if you like it or not bro…honestly - it’s all good. Why did you click on the video if you didn’t like the Victory is what I don’t understand. I’m not a fanboy of any company…I have guitars from all kinds of companies…including PRS. Obviously I’ve set you off - wasn’t my intention. Can we just agree to disagree…or at least understand that we might like different things? Hope so…but if not, you don’t have to watch.
I never knew Gibson made a guitar like that. Love it. Sounds great.
Thanks!

Actually they do sell a mounting plate, you need to buy separately. I verified with Graph Tech🤘
@@GSN1972 I’ll have to ask my GraphTech rep…never seen one with the proper non-angled leg to work with mini-Grovers.
Probably the best demo I've seen for this guitar. Great job!
Thanks - greatly appreciated!
Those guitars are awesome.

Its a beauty.
Best demo on the victory I’ve seen so far . Well done and thanks for sharing.
Wow! Thanks…appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it.

And it has some great sounds.
Really nice playing dude. You are so accurate.
Kind words! Thanks…I appreciate it.

Fantastic review, really enjoyed watching this

Kinda similar but I’d say a bit hotter.
Great review as always.

You might be able to put a Floyd Rose FRX on that Gibson Victory.
How does the Victory compare with the SG?
Which SG?!? I have several. I’m an SG fan so I lean more that direction, but they are very similar IMO.
@@EJBGuitar SG standard 61. I like that one.

The long upper horn. And comfort cut at the top lower bought are the only things that keep if from not sucking.
There are…a lot more things. Maybe play one.
@EJBGuitar I'm sure it's a nice guitar. But if it don't look cool. It ain't.
Yeah but that’s the thing…you might not think it looks cool. Others do. Doesn’t make you wrong or us…different strokes for different folks!
Looks like a good 400$ anyway
Looks like a trashy less classy PRS copy 🤷
