    Between high school and going to college for fine Arts I took every art class possible..:..except for a pottery class. Boy I’m regretting that.

      If you know how to make a cylinder it is not that hard to do this technique. Give it a try- it is so much fun.

      I've been in a pottery class for 5 months and still can't make a good cylinders my confidence so now I'm doing hand building

    Have you ever tried holding the stamp verticle instead of horizontal and applying it while the wheel is spinning slowly. Applying pressure with a rib on the inside. Might have a cool effect.

      I have tried that and could not make it work. I have seen many potters do it very well but it never worked for me.

    Who else thought he was going to hold the roller vertically and spin the table as it rolled around the cup? Lol he’s a great teacher btw!

      Thank you. I have seen others do it around the cup but I just could not get the hang of doing it that way. I learned the up and down way first.

    Wonderful tutorial! Thanks a lot:) By the way, all the stamps you are using are wooden. I have resin 3d printer at home, I wonder if resin ones could work the same as you are using?

      I have not used a resin stamp for this, but is should work. Try it out and tell me how it goes. I would love to know.

      I think you have to some corn starch with the resin stamps. The corn starch will burn off when fired.

    Thank you for the tutorial. What is the number for the MKM roller? I found TW-16 but the roller in the video looks larger.

      That stick was made by a wood working friend that was one of my pottery students.

      @JohnHasegawaCeramics Hey John, it went extremely well. Managed an Aryballos style flask on my 3rd attempt. An MKM order has been placed for some more hand rollers. Greetings from the UK btw 😀

    I really need to stop watching videos while I'm waiting for clay or glaze to dry. I rationalize it as continuing education. Deep down, I know it is just feeding my quarts/feldspar addiction. It's like a never ending cycle. For every project I cross off my list, 15 more show up. I'm guess I just have to keep plugging away till I learn better. 🙃
