I love when you give alternate handling and multiple options in these smaller routines. The idea of shuttle passing a packet that the spectator selected to swap it didn't occur to me the entire time you were explaining the routine, and then as soon as you said it I went "woah what a fantastic idea!"
You ABSOLUTELY do NOT talk too much. This is what SETS YOU APART. I appreciate you pointing out the moments of drama SO MUCH. Don't ever change. As I am learning this craft, I am only beginning to find the magic in the performance, patter, and pacing (alliteration unintended). These things are hidden to laypeople, and to some extent, still hidden to amateurs like myself. Pros may think these things are obvious. They are not. That's why they work. It is the invisible soul of the illusion, and needs as much opportunity to be revealed and demonstrated as anything else. Thankyou
My favorite subject in school was always history. What helped me fall in love with the subject was doing genealogy and how my family related to events that happened in time. On a side note, I love your videos and for me personally they're never to long. It's in the details that helps sell the tricks. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
My favorite subject in school is Science! It's really interesting and complex and that also what I love about magic tricks. They can get super complex and challenging but the pay off is always amazing,as in chemistry!
Jay, first and formost, the longer you talk and explain the mechanics of the trick, illusion, the better it is for me (us) to learn and understand. So, talk on... I learned a few card tricks from a Mississippi River Boat Gambler, he was a IBM member, and I practiced in front of a mirror for hours until I felt I was ready to perform for real.. Thank you for sharing your awesome craft with us. Keep shining and stay frosty...
Ok, paused the vid just before the tutorial just to say this is soooooo sweet! (Pun intended)Dude, this is so good, why are you not selling this one! Kinda feel bad not paying for the secret. Now onto the reveal:)Thanks for another killer Jay!
My favourite school subject is Chemistry, I really love the fact that things appear and disappear, and my teacher is into magic too, so I like showing him tricks! :D
I’ve got to say you’re an incredible performer and teacher. I just love watching you and you make the trick interesting even if you are revealing how it’s done !!! You embody the true art of magic 😁
Coffee shop trick is my kind of trick! Seriously, that's a SOLID effect! I'm going to find that book as well as read it. It's the details and the talking that make YOU stand out! Thanks Jay!
The most valuable advice you give is about the performance itself, like taking your time and so on. The detail you put into these videos is very much appreciated. All those years of experience really show through!
My favorite subject is school is math because all math is is a puzzle, and it takes time and thinking in order to figure it out but once it clicks, once it finally all comes together and makes sense... The feeling of satisfaction is awesome, when you've spent 20 minutes trying to find what a fricking letter equals, when you've spent 20 minutes frustrated, confused, and suddenly you just piece I together and it makes sense... No matter if you're in 6th grade pre algebra or senior in calculus, once it finally clicks you feel satisfied, you feel much more intelligent, accomplished... That's why math is my favorite subject in school.
Everyone seems to find advertising annoying in their desired programme but I really like your sponsored advertising, because you present it verging on subliminal and in a friendly, non-forceful way. Thanks for sharing your magic tricks. You come across in an wasy to understand way. Thanks :)
Thanks Jay for the video! My favorite class from school was probably theater class. A great way to make friends and learn how to perform in front of a crowd. Also I had plenty of time to show some magic to my drama friends!
Fun video! You don't just teach us how to do the trick but how to perform the trick correctly. I can tell how much you love the art of doing magic. Thanks for making it.
Nice! Great trick and an easy to make gimmick with multiple applications. I was first sankytized back in '95, great to see you still teaching and still truly enjoying it. Thanks Jay!
Favorite subject was drama class. Not as something that I wanted to pursue as a career but it gave me tools to use in everyday life: how to stand to convey emotion, how to pause for effect, that sort of thing.
I am a new subscriber but I would like to say I find it extremely helpful that you don't just explain the trick, but also the delivery. I find this channel very different and really helpful, so thanks a lot for tips and tricks, they're really cool!
Hey Jay!! my favorite subject is science.I really you teaching in detail keep doing.Iove this magic channel and i would say that you are the father creater of magic. Thanks for this video.

I have done a few card to sugar packets since I first learnt the one you have on I.D. because it truly is a powerful effect, but this video had a lot of extra subtleties to consider and potentially apply... thank you Jay!
My favorite subject is art. I am very creative and I love studying artists and their styles and trying them out for myself. I also am an artist, so it is a break in the day when I can sit down and draw and paint. It is kind of like a calming period for me.
It's a time to express yourself and relax. I also find it as a time to think. Every once and awhile, I will even be thinking about magic and scribble down quick notes on the back of a sketch.
My favorite school subject is theatre. It has done so much for me and also improved my magic. When I went to districts for improv and did the best there and then went to states and got best supporting actor in the state of Florida. So that's why
5:00 in, love that you cracked yourself up. I think this may happen more often but is often cut out. Glad it was kept in. It's those moments of minor insanity that hooked me in the first place.
Hi Sankey, I have just discovered your channel from Spidey's live stream and I can't tell u how much I love your videos. I want to watch it all at once but I am scared of have nothing left to watch at the same time. Love from China.
One of my favourite school subjects is math. I always find it fun to challenge myself with different types of questions. Thanks for all of your great magic!
Pardon my French, BUT JAY SANKEY...... YOU, IN MY OPINION CAN GO, AND DO WHAT YOU DO IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD!!! YOU SON OF A BROSKI, HOW DARE YOU.........LMMFAO, AS ALWAYS YOUR A GENIUS AND I TRULEY LOVE YOUR WORK, BEST WISHES BRO!!!! NEVER STOP SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS ON OUR PARTICULAR CRAFT OF AWESOMENESS!!!!!
Jay - friggin' awesome trick. Favorite subject in high school. Girls. Though if you're looking for something that was part of the curriculum, English Literature. Especially Beowolf and Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. We were required to memorize the first 16 lines in OLD English - and at the age of 54 I can still recite them - in Old English! BTW -I love being a member of the Inside Deception group. You've taught me some amazing effects so far - one of which blew my family away yesterday when I showed it to them. Showed card/doll eye/ paper bag routine. Did not have doll eye so I found a pair of the old "X-ray glasses" from the 70's. Had them place the cards in a small red velvet box while I donned the x-ray glasses - and voila' - they loved the ending - and I had a blast modifying your presentation of it. So thanks!
Nice video as always. My favourite subject was art....it was the only one that let you grow your imagination and be creative. It also helped me look at things differently and from different angles.
Thanks Jay, as always it's a pleasure to see your work. I've been to many of your lectures both in Edmonton and Toronto. I just recently bought a couple of your videos to add to my library. I love the simplicity of this trick along with the high impact and shock value to the spectator. Keep up the amazing work. Len Braund.
My favorite subject in school was Physics, I am actually getting my PhD in physics in just about a year. It is probably because physics is magical that i am so drawn to is.
This is the sort of stuff I love. Amazing, simple, and memorable magic.
Boom!
I love when you give alternate handling and multiple options in these smaller routines. The idea of shuttle passing a packet that the spectator selected to swap it didn't occur to me the entire time you were explaining the routine, and then as soon as you said it I went "woah what a fantastic idea!"
I love when you go into detail on magic theory. It's nice to see the "why" rather than just the "how".
I'm thrilled SO MANY of my great fans feel the same way! THX.
You ABSOLUTELY do NOT talk too much. This is what SETS YOU APART. I appreciate you pointing out the moments of drama SO MUCH. Don't ever change.

Your the reason I got into magic! You're truly great
Sir, you do not talk to much. It's perfect. Especially at double speed. Thanks.
My favorite subject in school is Science! It's really interesting and complex and that also what I love about magic tricks. They can get super complex and challenging but the pay off is always amazing,as in chemistry!
History has always been my favorite because we get to learn about our past and how we got to this point in time.
Jay, first and formost, the longer you talk and explain the mechanics of the trick, illusion, the better it is for me (us) to learn and understand. So, talk on... My favourite subject was art, because I had all the time to show magic tricks to my mates!
Ok, paused the vid just before the tutorial just to say this is soooooo sweet! (Pun intended)Dude, this is so good, why are you not selling this one! Kinda feel bad not paying for the secret. Now onto the reveal:)Thanks for another killer Jay!
U rock.
And even after the whole video, I'm still blown away! This is real magic!
Psychology. It not only was super interesting to learn about, but I even could apply it to improve my magic!
you could do it as a swap of the card and the sugar and use a thumb tip to pour the sugar out of the deck!
I like all the options that were covered to show all the possible situations this trick can be used for. Thanks Jay!
Coffee shop trick is my kind of trick! Seriously, that's a SOLID effect! I'm going to find that book as well as read it. It's the details and the talking that make YOU stand out! Thanks Jay!

Hi Hans. So glad that my efforts are 'coming across' - and thanks for your lovely vibes my friend.

I love your passion for all aspects of making a trick work. It's so much more than going through the motions and you capture that well.
Everyone seems to find advertising annoying in their desired programme but I really like your sponsored advertising, because you present it verging on subliminal and in a friendly, non-forceful way.
Thanks for sharing your magic tricks. You come across in an wasy to understand way. Thanks :)

more important than the trick is the presentation, and you are a master on it
