Obanai Iguro is one of the most mysterious Hashira we’ve met so far since he’s pretty much had no role in the anime, this is one of the most serious characters in the series. Obanai uses his very own Snake Breathing, a style that Obanai create all by himself after originally training in the Breath of Water. This breathing style allows Obanai to use his strangely shaped double edged sword to slice demons at VERY strange angels as he uses his small size and amazing sword handling to create attacks that feel like a giant serpent is encircling you and tearing you apart, like his third form Coil Choke, which appears like a giant white serpent wrapping around its foe as Obanai slashes them all over. Obanai’s might be the best swordsman in the Demon Slayer Corps, and his sword skills are SO good that he managed to be a lot of trouble for Muzan in their final battle. A n interesting fact about the Serpent Hashira is the fact that he was born with two different color eyes, and instead of a crow he has a snake called Kaburamaru, who is an Albino snake celebrated in Japan for bringing good fortune and riches!

Gyomei and the others may have done more previously but obanai carried the fight against muzan.
he's stronger than giyuu imo, 3rd strongest hashira
Giyu also saved him aswell as tanjiro and sanemi how was he the mvp? He slashed him a couple times which didn’t have any effect on muzan considering how he regenerated as soon as he slashed him. All the hashira had red blades while fighting muzan aswell as marks, yes obanai fought muzan in his base for a little but that doesn’t matter because like I said he did no dmg to muzan and he got his eyes slashed aswell while giyu was fighting the whole time with swords from dead demon slayers and gyomei and sanemi had injuries from there previous fight with koko.
To be fair, he and Mitsuri were the only ones not fucked up from previous battles
@@Mannyylifts Giyu saved a weaker tanjiro and even then was when muzan wasn't focused on them.
Giyu's best feats are deflecting muzan tentacles which is a bad feat.
Giyu and sanemi needed to clash there blades to get red blades when obanai got with fair and square.
Obanai also got see through world.
Doesn't matter if muzan regened from those attacks.
That's like saying that tanjiro was the MVP of entertainment district arc because he got the final hit whereas tengen only hit gyutaro which didn't effect him.
There previous injuries don't matter, demon slayers themselves get stronger when they reach the brink of death.
Moreover Giyu saving tanjiro isn't a big feat when obanai saved tanjiro when he was fucking blind. He saved tanjiro multiple times in critical times.
Tanjiro was literally the only person who could stall muzan.
Not only that but obanai also saved Giyu himself.
The others had the advantage of marks meanwhile Obanai didn't.

The point is that sanemi and the others were at more of an advantage meanwhile Obanai wasn't.
Sanemi and the rest started out with there marks meanwhile Obanai started at base and ended up getting mark, red blade and STW.
The only hashira to get all that in a single battle.
Obanai fought muzan for the longest too.
Pre 4th drug muzan is still above every uppermoon. the Point is that Obanai was fighting the strongest person for a very long time while saving others.

Throughout the series Obanai hated Tanjirou but in final fight with Muzan he sacrifice himself to save Tanjirou.. I had tears in my eyes while reading this part of the manga..
The depth of Obanai's back story is soo beautiful.. The fact that despite having a sad and tragic life he had in his childhood, he began to experience happiness and love through Mitsuri and the ending of their story is heart warming!!

@@nonbasicz but at the start of the battle he was the first to damage Muzan, the one who noticed his insane regeneration, the one what was literally saving everyone, the one who was the first to use a red blade on Muzan. And he was the one who blitz muzan when he was running away giving Tanjiro and the rest of the demon slayers to pin Muzan down. He was the one who took Muzan's "Bite" attack head one saving tanjiro.

Being The MVP doesn't automatically make you the strongest. You're the MVP because you had done more

Could Inosuke learn his breathing style? Since inosuke’s beast breathing mimics animals in the wild and snakes are animals. Could Inozuke adapt snake breathing into his beast breathing style and become more powerful?
Wouldn't work as inosuke doesn't have an actual breathing style, it's just him slashing straightly, while obanai is using curving slashes and quick winding movements

@@SaintBeowulf to be fair it’s been stated that Inosuke’s beast breathing was invented by him and it’s an actual budding new style that mimics animals in nature to expand his senses and such. The reason it looks like its just slashing straight it’s cause it’s still a basic style he hasn’t completely developed.
Snake breathing is just a more refined beast breathing in my opinion. Instead of it being multiple animals it’s just a snake and it was also developed by the hashira who uses it. So it being made by one person doesn’t discount it from being an actual breathing style.
This guy is just further in his path to develop it and specialized it more in one direction than Inosuke.
I first thought he looked pretty weak, but my jaw dropped when it was shown that his swordsmanship is so good, that his attacks can bend in impossible angles to reach the foe (like a snake). I don't think that many can understand how op is that skill: no matter how good your defense is, Obanai is always gonna ignore any obstacle and land a hit with precision; that's comparable with Akaza's Compass Needle technique.
Obanai's Snake Breathing is arguably the best style for close range combat and duelling.
When i first saw him, i thought he was a child 💀 (like Nezuko's age) he literally looks like a baby

I love that the two smallest hashira (Shinobu and Iguro) have to come up with other techniques to make up for their light builds and lacking of physical strength. With Shinobu using her poison and her speed, and Iguro using his swordmanship and agility.

Since breathing styles is just breathing and different swordsmanship, you can just breathe and do a move that you haven't done. If it's effective then congratulations, you have a new form.

I think it was also stated somewhere that he was basically blind in his right yellow eye so he developed, mastered, and performs as skillfully as he does in the story with only 1 good eye.

Loved that during the end of the Entertainment District arc, he showed up and despite finaly after hundreds of years an upper moon was dead, he treats it like if he was there it would have just been a day that ends in y.

Did you not see, the minute tanjiro was sliced not more than 5 seconds later was he dying on the floor from the poison.
Obanai is not surviving the poison he's going to die, the battle might be slightly easier but at the end of the day he's going to die during that battle.

Every Injury from the hashira was intentional up to the point where the poison started to take effect and he was panicking. Alot of obanais feats are pointless and taken out of context
