I am a great fan of Michio Kaku, yet I found this interview to be not very much of how I see him today. Harold Channer tried in this interview to draw . Kaku out to speak in a more positive manner while at the same time speaking of the harm that has already been done . I believe Mr. Channer was perhaps ahead of the interview thinking of movements that we see today that he may have been aware of or may not have been such as the Venus Project or Abundance movements. Prof. Kaku did not in this interview allow the conversation to go that way. I do believe today he would!

It's fascinating now 25 years later we are wholly unconcerned about depletion of the ozone layer. It's essentially repairing itself once again, which is an excellent example of the nations of the world working together to solve the problem. I remember in '91 being afraid of the ozone depletion. Now we look to the human factors in global warming. Temporally it terrifies me. Yet I recognize we as a society are asking the right kinds of questions, having the right conversations. Hopefully in another 25 years we'll see this threat too as a thing of the past.

I like Michio Kaku. He's a very interesting guy and has very interesting ideas. I'm no science major or nothing like that, but I stumbled across this guy simply through intellectual curiosity about science, the atom and the universe and all that. When I stumbled across this video I thought, "This is something I can enjoy watching." But I couldn't get past 20 minutes of the video because Channer just would not shut the fuck up and let Dr. Kaku explain things. Dude! Shut the fuck up and let the smart people talk! Jeez Louise man!!
Interviewers, even when they agree with the interviewee, so often argue with them, interrupt them, and generally, as you said, just won't shut up. Interviewers must love to hear themselves talk. Case in point: Bill O'Reilly. He hits the nail on the head but even when he agrees with his guest, ends up arguing with them. It's why I don't watch Bill O'Reilly ... I just turn the channel.

Very interesting historical interview with Dr Michio Kaku in 1991. Just a pity that the interviewer keeps interrupting so much, while Dr Michio K is still answering the question.
1. interrupts michio instead of letting him fully answer the question 2. tries to level with michio on his intelligence, this can be proven by how the interviewer will try to add on to what michio has answered. 3. constantly spurts "yeah" "uh huh", instead of being silent and just listening, which also can disprove that his mind is being blown, and reverts to point 2 in that he is trying to portray himself being as smart as michio. and in the end, the interviewer is rude, not polite at all, you do not interrupt people who are speaking when you ask them an interview question, either that or it is hardly an interview, more like a conversation.

Another great MK video. I've known MK for a long time (about 2 decades ago I first spoke with him) but this is the first interview I heard of his early years background in such detail.
He has always been very accessible to everyone (as long as your not too odd like some psyco off their meds etc of course). He was quite easy to find at NYU, via email etc and very responsive to me always. IF you have something to say or ask or? that is not just a waste of time, then look him up and say hi but do remember, he is a very busy guy so don't waste his time on nonsense (whatever that is LOL:-)

Why is everyone hating on the interviewer? His mind is being BLOWN. He is genuinely interested in everything Michio is saying.
1. interrupts michio instead of letting him fully answer the question
2. tries to level with michio on his intelligence, this can be proven by how the interviewer will try to add on to what michio has answered.
3. constantly spurts "yeah" "uh huh", instead of being silent and just listening, which also can disprove that his mind is being blown, and reverts to point 2 in that he is trying to portray himself being as smart as michio.
and in the end, the interviewer is rude, not polite at all, you do not interrupt people who are speaking when you ask them an interview question, either that or it is hardly an interview, more like a conversation.
the increase in skin cancer is B vitamin deficiency, not lack of sunscreen.
Ozone is depleted by any hydrocarbon as well as chlorine. Anyone recall the methane releases in the North? Methane is lighter than air and rises to meet the ozone.

Another great MK video. I've known MK for a long time (about 2 decades ago I first spoke with him) but this is the first interview I heard of his early years background in such detail.

He has always been very accessible to everyone (as long as your not too odd like some psyco off their meds etc of course). He was quite easy to find at NYU, via email etc and very responsive to me always. IF you have something to say or ask or? that is not just a waste of time, then look him up and say hi but do remember, he is a very busy guy so don't waste his time on nonsense (whatever that is LOL:-)
