  • Hi guys, thank you for joining us.
Today, I have the pleasure of showing you our kitchen and the process to get here.
By now, you would have probably seen parts of the kitchen in other videos, but today you will see everything, from start to finish.
The kitchen is on the ground floor (Australia and England) or on the first floor for our US viewers. Let’s just say that the kitchen is on the street level.
When you purchase a home in Italy, usually you need to put a kitchen yourself. In general, Italians don’t change houses much, but for some reason, they tend to take their kitchen with them.
When we purchased this house, all there was here was the tap and the sink.
There is so much to do and we are eager to get started!

The blue color you used for the kitchen tiles is beautiful. And how nice that the man comes around with cheese to sell. The last time I remember seeing a peddler driving through a neighborhood other than the summer ice cream truck, was back in the 1950’s in Minneapolis (USA) and the man sold fruits and vegetables. 🎉

I know. It's sad that those simple things don't exist anymore.
When my husband was little he used to work delivering milk in Canberra, Australia. But those things are a thing of the past in most places. I think that's why sooo many people are charmed by small towns in Italy ☀️🇮🇹

I enjoyed watching the cheese van. I remember growing up in Colombia and waiting anxiously for the guy that delivery bread and pastries to our house. We even had the milk and the soda truck delivering the products straight to our kitchen 😮

Hi Claudia, I miss the mazamorra guy on Saturdays so much!
We knew he was coming to our street because he will use a very loud horn as he made his way through the neighbourhood.
      Oh, those times ☀️🤗

This one had my mouth watering at the sight of that cheese! You're doing great getting it to a state that you can enjoy now and then as time and money permits, upgrading the things you want to.

A cheese van to your door!!! That’s Awesome! We have a farmers market in our city three times a week in various locations. In the village in northern Greece where my wife is from, you will have someone selling bread, another individual selling vegetables and then a fish monger who comes by in his van. Nice! Saves time driving into town which is 30 minutes downhill.

Thank you for sharing. My wife and I use to dream of a house in Italy or Great Britain. Now we have a granddaughter and we can not leave her. However, we can live vicariously through you two!

Hi Tim. Whereabouts as re you guys located?
Have you consider a small holiday home to spend summer with your granddaughter abroad? That may be an option. That way you guys get to live your dream a little while she gets to experience a new culture.
      Thanks for watching 🤗

Thank you for responding. My wife and I live in the state of Oklahoma in the USA.
That sounds like a wonderful plan except one thing. My wife and I are both retired teachers. Thus, our income is limited. Fortunately, we live debt free, and selling our home to buy one in Italy 🇮🇹 would be our only option. The simple fact is we can only have, afford, one home. However, we are very blessed to have and own a beautiful French style home.
      Again, thank you for responding!
Also, I loved the episode where you were so honest and emotional about your new home and village in Italy. It was very touching and honest.
Many blessings from my home to yours!

As always I love watching your progress and like you mentioned you can't do too much before you know if your documents are going to be finalized. I love that you guys are so handy and doing things on your own, especially tile. I love the color of the front door, it looks so nice. That is so cool that there is a cheese van that come to the neighborhood, I enjoyed watching you guys picking what kind of cheese to get for the day/week. Cant' wait till the next episode :)

Hello, guys. If you like mozzarella i suggest to look for Del Giudice at Termoli; in the road (SS16) from Termoli to Vasto, after crossing San Salvo Marina, there is a family owned "caseificio", in the left side, where you can taste mozzarella, bocconcini, treccie, in versions "unsalted", "primo sale", "salted", made day to day, a good prices and high quality. In Molise, the best "caseificio" are near Campobasso and Bojano. The "scamorze" di Bojano are famouses. You must taste the "ventricina" from Montenero di Bisaccia and from Alto Vastese (Roccaspinalveti, Cupello, Montedorisio, etc.)...

    • @rossinniandco
      @rossinniandco  Год назад

Thanks Felice. We love ventricina 😉
I think we've been past the caseficio you mentioned on the way to Vasto. I think it's not far from a Japanese restaurant that is on the same side of the road.
      Thanks for the tips 😉
