There are a few things that make Porsche Unleashed special in my eyes, that a remaster absolutely must retain. 1) The loose, not very grippy handling. Porsche Unleashed had handling that required you to brake, and hold speed, otherwise your tires wouldn't grip and you'd push the front, or slide the rear. The latter especially with the old 911s. It's a valuable aspect of the game that must be preserved. 2) A focus on winding roads. Some areas have goofy corners and all, but it's not "street racing" to an extreme degree, jumping over convenient obstacles or shooting through a city with traffic everywhere. I wouldn't mind a few circuits being added, but the road feel needs to stay. 3) The damage model. It ties in with the first two. If you drive like crap, you bang up your car, and it handles worse for it. Then at the end, you have to pay for fixing. It rewards expert driving and punishes big mistakes. Also the reason I never really took out the 935. Those three things, I think, must be kept for a proper Porsche Unleashed game. They make the title more of a thinking man's Need For Speed, rather than the incredibly arcade direction almost every other modern title has. More cars, more tracks, more parts customization, sharper sounds and graphics would of course be welcome.
Indeed. Also, the scenery. There is something about nfs porsche that gives it a special cinematic look that was way ahead of its time. Not only you saw the golden hour of the normandie, the rainy cold autobahn, the midnight from industrielle, but you could feel it. And also factory driver. It should stay a tradition.
I still play NFS Porsche on PC to this day. It's ridiculous this game is already 24 years old. It's so good, handling is really good as for simcade. I play on Xbox controller and it feels perfect. Too bad windows updates tends to mess with it a bit sometimes and it's harder to set up the controllers. I would love to have some sort of game like this again, with Porsche as a main theme.
A remastered version will be fantastic. I was a big fan of that game. I played the demo back in 2001 and then the full game one year later. They(EA) should work at least 2-3 years on it without involving any other outside teams. They should include tracks from Europe:France,Spain,Germany,Switzerland,Austria as well as a track containing a whole city(maybe Monte Carlo) like MW :)). All cars that PORSCHE made and the new cars as well: cars: Cayman,959,928,Taycan,Cayenne,Carrera GT,918. Historical races and sport events from Formula 1(PORSCHE was a present as an engine supplier), Le Mans, Dakar(a race with 959) other motor leagues. A comeback of the factory driver with some historical car launches:944, '95 911 Turbo 3.6 Coupe, and a lot of missions and tasks.. A Hot Pursuit mode with a '911 as a Police car on Autobahn. Tuner mode with RUF and other like them. Only then the story can be reborn...
They can also ad hilclimb races with Porsche Carrera 6, my most beloved Porsche of all time. But please make realistic physics and damage model (maybe with a possibility to switch it of for arcade players).
Factory driver would honestly be the only good way to continue the series... like "yo hans/dieter/rolf/Jeremy can you speed thru a European village with this new porsche pls 🥺👉👈 I know it's a big ask but pls 🙏 "
That game was something else. Both handling and the visuals were very striking. Especially the fullness of ambient colorscape left an impression; I can still recall how the burgundy color of my 996 mixed with the cool embrace of winter conditions. Also, if I'll be able to, one day I'l get a 70s Carrera. Funny, just because of a game, but what can you do?
A series of remasters would be a lot cheaper and better than the crap EA is churning out these days. Bring back EA Vancouver and Black Box. I want my childhood back.
Even if EA would make another Porsche game or a remake they would probably fuck it up and make it all flashy with terrible music and characters with embarassing dialogue
This game was by far the best NfS. It was sooo relaxing to play, really good music and sounds and it all felt so realistic. Also, I really wanted to play more and be my best to win more cars.
I just loved making money through the market place, buying wrecked cars & selling them for a profit, use the proceeds to upgrade your collection & performance 😍😍
What a nostalgia! My all time favourite NFS. I played most of the series till 2012. I still like it, even more than NFS underground. Just give us a remaster of that beautiful game.
Amazing job two of you, finding and matching maps across games. Definitely agree NFS PU was way ahead of it's time and still doesn't look badly dated, thanks to folks at nglide we can still play it. Totally loved the intro via ads at the beginning and the zone industrialle reimagination, don't know which game it is from but would love to try it Two thumbs up for this
Ha ha thanks. Yep Porsche Unleashed was a well made game & it shows. The details in it are remarkable. That zone industrialle is NFS Heat. Another good NFS after a long time. Do play it.
Porsche exclusive contract with NFS was ended since 2016 (that contract made other games like Midnight Club had to go with RUF) so even 1% chance of NFS Porsche remastered doesn't even exist.
I loved that game..played it front to back multiple times….the first time took lots of tries as I got further up….I would love to see it back refreshed
All I want is a NFS 1-5 remake. Imagine those beautiful cars in full 4k glory with interiors, better physics, that awesome soundtrack provided by names like Rom, Saki, Crispin, Junkie XL and most of all, those amazing tracks like Atlantica fully realized with the technology to truly show off what a marvel it's meant to be. Racing games these days just aren't as fun or interesting because everything has to either be a boring simulator or a goofy arcade racer.
Yeah I miss those days too.😐 Play it again if possible. Otherwise if you are interested you can watch the complete playthrough here ruclips.net/video/pa3M6k5FcSc/видео.html.
Love this game! One of my most favorite car games. I hope this will be a future game. Would be amazing if the EA actually did revived this lovely simulator and all the models. I do still have the original CD-ROM game somewhere. I still remember the frustation when the game crashed in Normandie :D
I want a remasted NFS Porsche with all the old mechanics, one time my cousin actually managed to damage the rear wheel with a jump making it almost undrivable
I like it. There is missing damage model. But this idea with bonus award on the top of screen is sux. Some of maps can be better looks. Big thumb up. I like it.
After NFS5PU, EA has kept the Porsche brand excusivity for more than a decade, and did nothing with it. The average NFS fan wants an inane feel-good story with cringy dialogs, arcade controls and stupid mechanics like random accidents, catchup etc. And of course, a variety of supercars or ricer builds. 20 years later, I'm still buffled how come EA made this game, it must have been an accident, or at least that's how they treat it.
Yes completely agree. They just sat with the exclusivity for 16 years. However they did some experiments with the title (NFS) but the result was not satisfying for them. Porsche Unleashed & shift were good experiments imo. Prostreet was a nice attempt too but could have been better. Well atleast Heat was a bit better than the previous few.
@@virtualtraveller8676 I also enjoyed the Underground series, but that's it for me, I gave up on the series so I haven't played the ones you mentioned. Porsche was a very special game, the persistence of car damage and the concept of having a garage made it feel like I owned the cars. With new games you push yourself at 130% and if something goes really wrong you'll just restart. With NFS 5 I found myself driving at 90%, taking reasonable risks, and feeling engaged. It's a feeling I've never experienced again. It was a great experiment, but I don't think EA ever realised what they achieved, I hope some other company might give these machanics another go
@@InfernalStateMachine Yep I like underground series too. UG2 is my favourite. Most wanted 2005 was not bad either. From carbon it went downhill. Undercover was so bland. Yes I completely agree with your Porsche points. Anyways if you ever want to try any NFS after the UG series I would recommend NFS MW (2005) & Shift (If you like a mix of sim & arcade). For Heat I am not sure if you will like it as it is slightly similar to MW (2005).
Cool video. Though, you should list all the games that appear in the video, with the times they appear at. I'm wondering what the games at 2:34 and 6:00 are.

How to download???😟😡😭
Pwoah, nostalgia and great games of our time
I would absolutely buy this. This game is why I work for Porsche now.
wow! this game made Porsche my favorite car brand
My biggest dream is that NFS Porsche will be remastered with little bit more models! Or the original game will come out on PS4
This game actually deserves a remake. However I doubt EA will do that as there might be some legal issues now.
Ps5! With new Graphics..
How about a remake combining the ps exclusive cars with the pc cars
Да, это и моя мечта уже много-много лет))
Or at least buyable on steam
The best NFS game, that one deserves a Remake...

I've enjoyed this game to the point of watching the whole replays after almost every race.
Not to mention the factory driver story mode
1000% agree❤

My very first Need For Speed game. Oh yeah. The memories. Playing on my dads really crappy computer in his room.

Beautiful montage 😭 this makes me wanna petition EA and Porsche to do a rerelease
when nfs cars had actual weight
High Stakes (1999) and Porsche Unleashed (2000) ❤❤❤

Even if EA would make another Porsche game or a remake they would probably fuck it up and make it all flashy with terrible music and characters with embarassing dialogue
Maybe they will give 3 free cars & rest all will be DLCs.
That intro brought a huge grin to my face. Way ahead of it's time and under appreciated.

Greetings from NFS Polska :)
Still playing it.
Thank you so much for your work!
this is beautiful, my chilhood in this game. thank you!
I would love to see such a project to become true!
It was the soundtrack for this game that kept me playing it over and over again!!!
Acid house and German 90s techno went crazy

EA should just remaster the tracks and give us at least that!
OG players will remember the track glitches 😂 Best NFS game ever

really need this game as an remaster

this is just a Porcshe Comercial, but this is good anyways. I certainly hope that one day that they will remaster the first 5 NFS games.

Nowadays technology does not allow to make that advanced body damage as it was programmed in Porshe 2000.

relase date ?
When does it appear on the game on PC?
Ray Tracing needed. Game needs to be as realistic as in 2000. no 300km/h speeds.
What is the name of the game you show as a remake in the video?
Kind of unrelated but how are you running NFS Porsche in 16:9 ratio without cutting off the top and bottom?
