LOL, when you talked about the stability of the MGI Zip Navigator and how you've never tipped it over. LOL, I've got one that is going on 4 years old, and I've lost count of the number of times I've dumped it. Up steep hills, hitting the wood on bridges on the course, rocky terrain, or even sprinkler heads in the middle of fairways, all has a tendency to make it potentially tip over. I've learned over the years how to maneuver it to keep it from tipping over. Oh, and if you aren't paying close enough attention, and are trying to go around a bunker, I've had no problem dumping the cart into a bunker and my bag, clubs, and everything else ended up all over the bunker. Good times.
@@LetsPlayThru Mine does (Zip Navigator AT) and yep, she tips if you're not watching carefully. Usually in the transition from fairway to cart path, etc. I still love it but they DO tip from time to time if your not watching and adjusting. Oh yeah, that cup holder sucks, breaks pretty quickly. Found the clip accessory to be better and hang a handled waterbottle from there, much better than the unreliable cup holder.
I had the Zip navigator. I couldn’t make it 4 holes without it tipping over. MGI told me to add weight to the front. Problem is it tips right and left. This isn’t my first buggy. Of course I have the rear wheel. I don’t know if there is a difference between the Zip and the gps. It’s not “super stable”.
I use the Alphard conversion cart. Wide wheel base, easy to assemble when you pull it out of your trunk in the parking lot. Battery life is at least 32 holes, maybe more (never played more than 27 on a charge). The wheel base and the cart you buy to convert costs a total of around $900. Very nice set up and the price is unbeatable. Great on course performance, it goes everywhere with ease and the three wheel set up allows for very easy navigation and control.
I have an older mgi zip navigator cart and play hilly courses in California. I have to add a 10lb weight to keep it from flipping on inclines on the course. Not the most stable cart but since they moved the battery in front of the rear axle it should be a bit more stable. Otherwise, the best investment in golf ⛳️
Gabe, I got an MGI AT (all terrain) early this year and have about 35 rounds (208 miles) on the odometer. I do want to say that there is a learning curve in getting used to operating it. You have to remember to extend the 5th wheel out the back (if yours has one), otherwise you can tip over backwards going up steep slopes. You also can't put the controller in your pocket while you tee off or when you bend to put in your tee you can easily depress the button and have your cart take off. A very nice machine, very well built, easy to operate once you get used to it, the battery will go 36 holes although I generally charge after 18. No negatives other than the upfront cost of 1500-2000 depending on the model. The optional seat attachment is worthwhile
I should add that after getting the cart I bought a Sun Mountain C130 stand bag and it fits "OK". It sometimes gets turned slightly when I am using it. If you have one of these carts and are going to get a bag, it would probably be worthwhile to get a bag made by MGI as it probably fits more precisely. Not necessary to get a new bag if you already have a good stand bag.
That’s good advice! I didn’t think I needed the fifth wheel, but I played a round with my son yesterday, and we were going up a steep hill and nearly tipped but I grabbed it before it went over. Popped 5th wheel down after that. 😀
@@LetsPlayThru Wait until you leave the controller in your pocket and have your cart take off while you are putting in a tee. Mine got stopped by a cholla cactus, which was good (that it stopped) and bad (that it got stopped by the worst plant to run into on earth).

I like that they moved the battery forward which makes it more stable. My MGi Zip Navigator WILL tip if I get it on a steep hill or hit a bad transition. The GPS stuff is nice especially if you don’t have a line to the flag with a laser. Sometimes nice to know front back middle.
Well, you’re officially an Old Guy now! 😊👍 I have one and it’s been awesome at age 74! I learned about these when playing down in the Monterey area and most of the retired military brass used them. Walking almost every day at 80 too! Better than pushing or carrying.
Nice video Gabe! Do they make one that you tell it to go ahead of you at a certain spot and will wait for you so you don’t have to control it or one that follows you?
I have had an Alphard V1 since 2019 on a Rovic 3 wheel cart. Best golf purchase I have ever made. My friends have the MGI carts. Even the AT version tips over at times. One issue, I want to move south from CT. Most courses in the south seem to not allow walkers. I go down to the Myrtle Beach area a couple times a year. No walking allowed.
Thanks for the informative video. I'm contemplating a purchase. Read other commenters about tipping over of the MGI Navigator zip models. My golf club rents the Navigator for $13. I use one every round. I dump it once almost every round. Thing doesn't like steep side hill lies and steep uphill climbs even at 2mph. Glad to hear from others that the new forward placement of the battery pack helps stabilize the machine. Looking forward to your weight loss story video. I want to lose 20 pounds. Have been watching my food intake, exercising at the gym and just can't drop the pounds. I'd like to adopt your success story.
My 3-year-old Zip Navigator just broke today. The front wheel assembly snapped off...without hitting anything. It was intact during the round, but came apart as I lifted it into my car. It doesn't disassemble there, and I don't know if it is a component that can be replaced (or if it's integral to the main body). I've reached out to MGI but haven't heard back. (All good; it's been just a couple of hours. I've really enjoyed it and have used it extensively, but that front-end assembly takes a beating when it hits holes you can't see. If they won't repair it--warranty or at my expense--I'll probably suck it up and replace it. (I don't need the GPS since I have that built into my Garmin range finder.) When I bought mine, there were three choices. You can have one you hold by the handle. You can have one you control by remote. And you can get one that follows your remote as you walk. I chose the middle one since I didn't want to handle the cart all the time and I really didn't see the value in the follow feature. Always use the 5th wheel. You'll need it if your tee boxes are elevated. And extend it. To me, the value isn't in replacing a cart. The value is in permitting me to walk more frequently. This is particularly important in Phoenix, where I live.
Thanks for the video, much appreciated. I am currently running a zip navigator X3 which is by far the best golf trolley I’ve ever had. It is super silent, zero motor whine. On full speed, I’ve got a run to keep up with it. The stability is awesome with specially with the rear kick out wheel. It folds down to a very small footprint. The pot is also very strong and I can quite easily get two rounds, although I generally charge it after each one. It also has a braking facility going downhill and it will not run away. The torque of the motor keeps it at the steady pace even on the steepest hills. This new version looks pretty much like mine and I’d love to know where does the AI part of the trolley come in?
Hahahahaa. I own the the MGI A.T. Have had it for 4 seasons now. Everyone I play with asks what I think of it. I tell them THE GREATEST golf invention of ALL TIME. But I really want the new G.P.S. Navigator. You lucky duck. 👍👍👍👍👍
$1899...at $18 a round for a cart rental at my local course, that's 100 rounds to break even (well, 105-110...). Weather clears by May 1, play every day, rain or shine through August...OK, maybe after two years...
Bought MGI X5 last year, I'd highly recommend over this if you don't want the remote or GPS; Which I didn't want. Two criticisms, wish the bag stood a little bit taller rather than the lean it has, makes getting the woods out a bit tight. Secondly the cup holder is a bit weak for a heavy tumbler, can see it in your video. It's a great cart it's paid for itself twice over in just 2 seasons. Just gotta get buddies to walk more 😂.
It would be interesting to see how it holds up for an entire season under our Florida heat and humidity. Curious, because I know cell phones overheat out there sometimes.
These new carts are way better than the older battery operated ones. Once when I was stationed in Pensacola Florida back in the 90s and playing the base course I was paired with an elderly woman who was using one. Halfway through the round the battery died and I pushed that thing the rest of the way for her. That was one of the toughest workouts I ever had! 🥵 Thankfully she hit the ball short but extremely straight. LOL
Just got this cart for Father’s Day. Two things I dislike. One is the cup holder is not good, my thermos bottle falls out easily and the cart keep veering to the left and I need to constantly steer it straight. Manor issues but just annoying.
Congratulations on losing 50 pounds! That’s a huge achievement. I walk every course I play(unless I’m forced to use a cart in a tournament), I’m definitely going to purchase this electric cart. I am concerned that my MGI gps+ cart will become obsolete after MGI upgrades the model to have the geo-fence option and follow function. Also the gps/display should be able to be upgraded with new functions by software or firmware update, like I can upgrade my iPhone. Can you address that issue? I also would like be able to keep score for more than one player. Also I would like to sync the rounds and scores entered on the cart display with the iPhone app so I can see past rounds on my iPhone and also on the cart display. Need to address planned upgrades to this cart coming at the PGA show 2025 so my cart just purchased does not become obsolete or hopefully finds a way to offer a paid or complementary upgrades to the carts capability. Um, no, this thing is not faster than a dude in a golf cart. Specifically when you have 4 dudes in a group, and 4 golf carts and they play in 2 1/2 hours. I brought my Zip Navigator, and I can play pretty fast with it, but walking against dudes in carts was not close. They were waiting on me on every shot. Also, a course where there are large distances between greens and the next tee will make this unrealistic. It'll be like walking 36 holes when using one of these things. But when it is cart path only, definitely bring this thing and use it, as it will be a bit quicker and less distance to walk.

Plus the fact and no one will believe this but you can send them across the green (I wouldn’t you would get some looks) because you’re golf shoes do more damage than these wheels because they spread out the weight distribution better.
Doesn't strike me as a guy that is committed to a weight loss diet program, working out or walking courses. If i were to wager, he's probably on Ozempic.
Let me know when they come out with a “follow” one. And, they should ditch the “AI” name. It’s like the word “science” now… too controversial and off putting.
Completely unnecessary. All those functions can be had on your phone with an app. Better to save money and go with the regular zip nav or save for when the auto follow version is eventually released.

Plus the fact and no one will believe this but you can send them across the green (I wouldn’t you would get some looks) because you’re golf shoes do more damage than these wheels because they spread out the weight distribution better.
3.5 is no longer Mere Mortal status. More like Living Legend!
Out of the box, did you need to charge the Battery? Super low price!
Out of the box, it actually was mostly charged. Didn’t even need to do it, but I still did anyways. 🤣
All the assembly...did you buy it from Ikea? Hopefully came with an order of meatballs...still, all said, nice review!
What would you pay for a RFID chip in a golf ball - just asking?
I think the tech would need to be $5/ball or less for it to make sense for me.
Doesn't strike me as a guy that is committed to a weight loss diet program, working out or walking courses. If i were to wager, he's probably on Ozempic.
too bad it does not follow...that makes it a hard NO! for me
well, Teslas kinda sux
Let me know when they come out with a “follow” one. And, they should ditch the “AI” name. It’s like the word “science” now… too controversial and off putting.
Toy lost me when you referenced Tesla and as good. I’m done.
Completely unnecessary. All those functions can be had on your phone with an app. Better to save money and go with the regular zip nav or save for when the auto follow version is eventually released.
How lazy can you get? Just stay indoors and play sim golf from your bedroom, you never have to get out of your pajamas.
I hate this so much!
