I definitely want to make it to one of these events. I noticed in your pretrip walkaround no fire extinguisher or firstaid kit. These are often ignored in most people's setup. You should also use stickers on your rig to alert others of the location of your safety equipment.
Not sure how I missed this comment. Your mention of stickers saying where the safety gear is located is a fantastic idea, I’ll give it some serious consideration

I’m tempted to go last couple years but it looks too hard-core. Seems way too gear focused and keeping up with the Joneses
It only seems that way, it’s not like that when you are there, unless you talk gear with people. It is more of a casual gathering, meeting people, and having fun!

The event looks like it was well attended.
Facebook promoted the event to me several times. I don’t really have an overlanding setup right now. I think my wife and I would enjoy overlanding, but we’d have to make some big changes to be able to afford the right vehicle and gear.

yeah, this was a really fun event. And for the record, you don't need a full set up for this event, a simple ground tent would be sufficient. You should try to make it next time. They gave away roof top tents as prizes at the one in Albion Hills, you never know.......
