I sooo miaa this place. Is it advisable for a tourist to stay around Chinatown? We want to explore Yaowarat more.

No Thai is calling Yaowaraj "Chinatown". Everyone there is speaking Thai, selling 90+% Thai street foods if not many Chinese stuffs. Chinese alphabets signs are just for honor to their Chinese descents. Most of people can't read or speak Chinese. Most importantly the Han Chinese didn't just came and mixed the lineage with the Thais in recent few centuries. They in fact came even before the "rebooted" Thai history. From DNA observations most of Thai people especially those who are living in the central have more or less Chinese lineage.
