Been there 2x,giant lake,clear powerful river. This was like 20 yrs ago in the fall. Kings,Choho & steelhead were also in the lower river.What a wild place back then,hopefully still is.
...I do believe that the fishing in the Nipigon is actually better than it was in the 60's and 70's, when my high school pal's parents owned the tourist lodge around the bend from Gapen's Pool just above the bridge...
We've spoken to locals about this and they would agree, the fishing is better today then back 20+ years ago. It is thanks to new catch and release policies that have changed the fishery for the better. Thanks for your valued feedback
