Its been so long since I used a 3310 and I had forgotten about this piece. I still find it interesting how much music they were able to cram in such limited hardware and still be recognizable.
I had a Nokia 3410 (the successor to the 3310/3330) and played this on loop until I discpvered it was a Bach piece. Thanks, you just unlocked a memory from my early teens!
Oh, nostalgia! Back in the nineties, my friend had this ringtone and never took any calls before they went to voicemail, because he liked the melody that much.
Not really, I think it's just the effect of how the beeper speaker was manufactured and it resonated with stuff and created more complex waveforms. I think internally, it's just generating a square wave :) Not a professional in this topic so I could be wrong, though :)
