    Totally agree... menstrual cups are a revolutionary product...it was life changing. Though I took a few day to adjust to it, it was totally worth it. I have been using the same epilator for 25 years now works like a charm. I have saved tons of money on waxing.

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  2 года назад +3

      Exactly.. waxing can cost you so so so much over time and you waste so much of that plasticy cloth also. Epilators are a one time purchase that can be used for such a long time.

    Hi Nayana, firstly, i haven't come across an eco-youtuber/ content- creator as genuine and relatable as you. Your content is easy to understand which makes it all the more easier to incorporate low waste tips and tricks in the routine. I look up to you.
    I also had a question - you said you'd only give in to buying from fast- fashion brands if you see any monumental change and clarity regarding their method of production or such. Have you come across any such fast- fashion brand yet?
    And what are your views on faux leather?

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  2 года назад +2

      Sanskruti, that is one of the sweetest things I’ve heard today. 🥰
      And regarding your question, no, none of the popular fast fashion brands have really shown any real progress towards sustainability other than a lot of greenwashing.
      I’m not a fan of faux leather and leather. One is harmful to the environment and the other is harmful to an animal.

    I could relate to almost all of the items u mentioned. I had collected few glass bottles to try crafts on them but dint find the time. Only thing i am doing is not paying someone to wash my scooter daily. That way i am savjng water daily and 1200 rupees per year. I do dust it weekly myself. People eye me like "what she cant afford to pay that ?( lost my job in 2020) but then why waste money on something which i have used only 3 times in the last 2 years everyhting i need is within 5 min salk for me since i dont have to travel 1 hr to any office.? N whats the issue with any women trying to wipe her own scooter? If i can ride it why not clean it myself. Who decided its a guy thing ? Hehe..

    Nailpaint and mobile pop I find verrrryyyyy useful. :)

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  2 года назад

      How is nail paint useful? It’s just aesthetic and even has been known to cause damage to one’s nails, while also being harmful to the environment. :(
      And mobile pop socket, it’s highly unnecessary I feel, as it doesn’t do any more work than our hands can already do.

    • @ad_rawshow5699
      @ad_rawshow5699 2 года назад +1

      Pop socket helps while watching utube(ur videos) while lying in the bed(no need to hold phone in air). Thats how I find it useful.
      Just like nailpaints, in today s time, there are n no. Of things which is causing harm(almost evrything), (just like lipstick make u feel more presentable , lively and add color to life) , nailpaint is the same. :)

    The best thing among all is to stop buying is sanitary napkins for women and diapers for kids. Instead use menstrual cup and washable diaper. My wife is very eco conscious and now I am too

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  2 года назад +1

      yes,, our parent’s generation was generally more sustainable back in their days than we are today. I’m sure they’ll understand when you try and talk to them about this, telling them that we are going back to their old times practices.

    Ohhh, so you bought iphone second, i thinking myself too. I mean iphone is no joke when comes to buying a new one common let's be honest, that's so pricey. So how did you bought an secondhand iphone, i can't remember a website where iphones or any phones are way cheaper, iphone are literally at the range from 15k to 30k or so, can't remember that website though. But nonetheless, how did you purchase one ?

    Hey Nayana, I really appreciate your list of things that you will never buy. Most of our list coincide except for a few:
    1. I use a razor (the old style ones) instead of an epillator.
    2. I don't mind first hand clothes provided that they are of a very good quality as I wear them for years! Also, I stick to only cotton clothes over the synthetic ones.
    3. I do have a constant need to buy pens and notebooks as it as an essential item for me as a student.
    4. I still stick to diary (glass bottles that are exchanged like in the olden days over plastic packets) as the vegan ones are expensive plus I don't have the necessary tools to make them myself.
    5. Still a fan of junk jewelry, however, I limit my purchases. I only buy piece that I can style in more than 3 ways.
    6. I will never buy glitter and party poppers as they are just plastic.
    7. I've been experimenting around with different toothpastes apart from the conventional ones. Hence I might never buy those conventional plastic tube ones ever again.
    8. I was obsessed with stickers but now that I know that they're just plastic, I give them a miss.
    9. Wouldn't buy biscuits and chocolates that come packaged in plastic.
    10. And, wouldn't buy anything tetra pack inspite of it being recyclable as it is a lot of work to clean them and send them for recycling. (It's almost 3 years since I've had anything from a tetra pack)
