Was looking at shotgun reviews and saw your channel.. What caught my eye was Tennessee Ridge Runner.. that was my 'handle' on the CB radio back in like 1974 LOL... Hadn't thought about that in forever..
The quality and performance of the Longbeard XR has went down the past few years. The Double X is a great priced shell for the performance. At the end I still like the Federal 3rd Degree out to 30 yards max. I hunt dense swampy river bottoms and my max shot is no more than 30 yards and most shots are 20 yards or closer so I like the pattern to spread out. The TSS shot patterns are amazing!!! Thanks for sharing. 🍺🍺
Also might note you may wanna shoot at a single black dot or a 3" orange dot and draw your 10" circle AFTER the shot, this will give you your true "core" /center of the most dense portion of your pattern. Great video, thank you for doing this review!!!!
TRR, very nice video, clear, detailed & no shaking video!!! I saw that you have a Stoeger M3020(Mossy Oak Obsession for Turkey) in 20 ga that has the non removable ghost ring sights on top. I see you have a picatinny rail on top with a red dot sight. I called Stoeger for info on that model 36030 & the cust. service rep told me the top is too thin to tap & drill for other sights, which is also specified in their spec sheet! Did you have someone do some beefed up tap & drill or some kind of super/ flex glued rail to to of receiver? I am very interested in your answer. Thanks, Monte P.S. Great looking pair of camo shorts your friend was wearing! LOL
I know it may seem bass-akwards but if you will try the factory choke .569 or an Indian Creek .562 or .570 it seems to be the case in the Stoegers, they do better with a more open choke using TSS 9s . I put 338/10" @ 44 yds using Apex 3" 1 ⁵/⁸ oz. and an IC .570
I was gonna comment this but its here already. To make it make sense. Tungsten is not as maleable or wont compress as lead does so with a tighter choke the pellets tend to bounce more. The less constricted chokes help prevent the vibrations from the pellets thus giving you a tighter pattern. Basically like kykrazy said anything within .560-.570 will be best. I had talked to apex tungsten rep. And this is how it was explained.
Does anyone sell a magazine tube extension for the M3020 that would increase capacity by two rounds but not extend the tube beyond the end of the barrel? Tks.
Bought the M3020 last month for the weight compared to my Rem 1100. Best pattern I got was the Boss 2oz load of #9 out of a .573 choke. It was truly unbelievable for a 20ga, but I'll be staying with my hand rolled #9 TSS as I can't justify $10 a shell.
@@tennesseeridgerunner1466 it's all about how many games you can bring down in a single shot. Interested in seeing you testing wider patterns for better games
@Russell Ehrgood I'm sure the fella who's question I answered was going to replace it with some type of optic. And I was letting him know that that's the only way to remove it.
I’m a pheasant hunter so the 40-yd tests with the IC choke were most relevant for me. The Verdict pattern looked great. Thanks

So very nice to see someone patterning with a big enough target !!!!
Thanks
What backer are you using? Seems to show hits very well
@@Shootinstraightarchery96 I bought poster boards from Walmart. They are cheap and work very well.

Thank you for making this video. I just got this shotgun for my birthday and was wondering which ammo I should try! ❤😊

note: should have stated as drill & tap!
Thank for the comment so sorry just seen it. Mine came drilled and tapped from the factory.
Can you test the best patterns to bring down as many games as possible.
.555 is a little to tight .562 .570 will probably give you better patterns.

I’m not sure. Sorry
Im looking forward to buy this shotgun but everyone is telling me that it shoot high is it true?
With the Red dot I was able to dial it right in. I never shot with the attached iron sights so not sure if those shot high or not

Can the factory sights be taken off?
Steven sorry for the late response. It does appear you can, it has screws holding it in place
Steven Smith....the hideous front post has to be ground off
@@kykrazy6050 You never grind any sight of a weapon unless your going to replace the sight with another, for many reasons.

You should reduce the weight of the cartridge.
