This dude is the inspiration for papa pump Steiner I guess. Just as superstar billy Graham was for the heel version of Hollywood hulk hogan. These old school dudes were the original. Papa pump and Hollywood Hogan's longevity made it for them to reintroduce these old characters in a different form like an avatar or a reincarnation of the old school wrestlers. Same thing for The Rock. His entirely people's champ gimmick and jabronie taunts did not originate with him. But we love them like hell.
Paul is the most under apreciated talents in wrestling history .Most people only know him as the manager for the Road Warriors where he was awesome but thats only part of his career .He had a wrestling mind that few possessed and its too bad he no longer manages A.O.P. because he would have made them stars .
Yeah. The future manager who would receive the greatest fame in pro wrestling by managing The Road Warriors, Paul Ellering. Speaking of the Road Warriors, one of them was in Vancouver, BC for a very short time in 1982. He teamed with Moose Morowski and went by the name of Crusher Von Haig (Hawk).
"I wear castle on my feet, my hair is always neat" I bet he wishes he could say that nowadays, but all jokes aside Paul Ellering is a great talker and looks like a freakin Greek god
All these people asking if this is the same guy from NXT should be ashamed to call themselves wrestling fans. To not know who one of the greatest managers in history is is friggin pathetic
Hard to believe Paul was as ripped & buff as the Road Warriors that he managed. But he was. And the original epitome of arrogance & narcissism. Even before Paul Orndorf, Lex Lugar, Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan, Mr. Perfect & many more.
You need to double check your dates. Orndorff debuted the year before Ellering. Hulk debuted the same year as Ellering. Piper debuted well before Precious Paul. And Paul wasn't really the original anything as a wrestler, he seems to be to be one of the lesser Superstar Billy Graham clones. But yeah he was a legit strong dude, decent on the mic, he just didn't have what it took to be a star as a wrestler. He is much more known as a manager.
PFC Thomas Blackhawk No, Superstar Billy Graham wannabe Just like Hogan, Ventura and any other roided up 80’s wrestler. Even Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes took part of their persona from Superstar Graham
Billy Grahmish promo
Paul Ellering was a powerhouse, he did some cool promos. The master blaster, Precious Paul Ellering!!
Holy shit I knew he was a good powerlifter but I didn’t know he was once that jacked!

LOL
“This body writes no checks it can not cash.”
-brilliant
Seems to have patterned himself after Billy ''Superstar'' Graham, I remember Paul in his wrestling days in the mid south wrestling.
So do I. In the days before he managed the LOD. I remember that a young and up & coming heel manager, Jimmy Hart, was with him.

Paul was badass back in his day!!!
"I wear castle on my feet, my hair is always neat" I bet he wishes he could say that nowadays, but all jokes aside Paul Ellering is a great talker and looks like a freakin Greek god
Paul was accomplish power lifter.
My uncle went to High School with Paul in Minnesota. He said Paul used to be a skinny punk

Paul took steroids and got huge.
Scott stiner stole this promo

My husband is reminded by the talk show host wwme journalist very similar in nature
WOW!, never saw this Paul
I hope he didn't spend too much on that "How to cut a Superstar Graham promo" tape.
Tuco Benedicto Ramirez lmao
scott steiner learned from the best.
Nice SuperStar Graham impression..... :)
Ellering would have been extra studly if he hadn't been hampered by the fact that he was like 5' 3".
POWER!!!
All these people asking if this is the same guy from NXT should be ashamed to call themselves wrestling fans. To not know who one of the greatest managers in history is is friggin pathetic
Hogan and sycho sid had a baby
Goddamn, Ellering was more gassed up than a tanker truck back in the old days.
Damn, i thought it was a short hulk hpgan

I bet Dutch had a plan.

Sounds like Scott Steiner stole most of his lines 😂😂
I don't think Dutch was ready for that...
sorry Paul Superstar Billy did it first.
Wonder if big poppa- pump is his son 🤣🤣
Channeling Billy Graham
☺
Paul ha ha ha
Every lady that's never lived on this Earth? Lol. How about ever lived on this Earth.
Ellering is blatantly ripping off Superstar Billy Graham
too bad he was 5 foot two
He was a legit 6 ft. You can verify it by cross referencing his weight lifting stats. It lists his height and weight at the time of his lifts.
Ellering was always a buffoon on the mic.
Weak debut Paul
Hulk wanna be
PFC Thomas Blackhawk

Paul Ellering could cut a promo but amazing what steroids can do for someone!
