    The idea and tech are really cool but the execution is.... very six flags I'll give it that

    • @drpenguin57
      @drpenguin57 9 месяцев назад +32

      Yeah you still only see yourself at one point in the ride combined with pre-made pov footage so in that respect it's not that much better than an on-ride photo imo.

    i'm so psyched for any update to the on-ride cameras! 9/10 photo booths at SFMM are abandoned, and then one of the 2 cameras on X2 is covered in dirt and probably hasn't been cleaned in 15 years. hope this goes on almost every ride!

    • @nicholaseckhart7900

      I'm hoping Cedar Point does something too. They keep trying to sell that photo pass to people but even the photos either seem to be down at the time or really poor quality on at least 50% of the rides with the cameras.

  • @CoasterGuy95
    @CoasterGuy95 9 месяцев назад +18

    This is cool and all but I have 2 small complaints
    1. The photos look kind of generic now, like no logos for the ride. Shouldn’t the onboard video be like Superman themed? And the frames for the photos should also have like ride branding and stats
    2. With great adventures strict no loose article policy, how would this even work? You’d have to run from the exit ramp to the lockers, grab your phone, run BACK to the Photo Booth, and hope the qr didn’t go away. Seems a bit counter intuitive

    • @ien2023

      Disney already done and did it better with slow mo and ride theme logo specific. This is just generic park logo and not enough screen time ofthe persons.

      My favorite coaster pic ever is of Wonder Woman at SFFT because the employee asked me if I wanted the logo on or off to which I quickly said “OFF!”. The photo is now framed and in my living room. It would have never made the cut if it had an obnoxious logo on it like my Fury 325 photo.

The actual final product looked a lot worse than the BTS promo that they were showing off in the gift shop. I think this is a really cool idea & i can see many people buying this when they wouldn't buy a physical photo, especially younger people. I think that there's a little room for improvement in the execution, such as individualizing the logos and graphics a little more to the specific ride & using multiple cameras along the course (why stop at just capturing 1 point in the ride?), but its overall a pretty solid innovation imo

      I mean, it looks "pre captured" because the camera is in the exact same place doing the exact same things every time. However, it's pretty clear that it's actual video and not just them superimposing people's faces onto it or something.
      The tech to do stuff like this with the video effects and stuff has been around for a long time, they're just taking various existing technologies and combining them for a novel purpose.

    I guess the first hint of this new tech was when I was on my 27th visit to SFOG the camera wasn't there on the final airtime hill on Goliath.
    At Magic Mountain I was wondering why the camera's flash wasn't a flash instead just glaring at me. This is a really good upgrade to the original many photos of the 80s (didn't know that btw).
