When I was a kid, Mike Schmitz from Monterrey, CA had a radio show, “From Rags To Wishes”. I heard about it from a newsletter from the Maple Leaf Club. I wrote to him and asked if I could tune in via shortwave ...or anyway (I was a kid!). Anyway, he volunteered to send me audio cassettes of his ragtime show if I sent him a blank tapes and return postage. Sadly, I don’t have any of those old cassettes with me anymore, but he recorded his show for a long time. I learned a lot of rags from that show and was so grateful for him for doing that for me. Tuning into your stream from PA reminds me of that time when I was a kid and a benevolent stranger delivered ragtime to my home so many miles away. Thanks, Adam!
Enjoyed each and every selection. The We Can Make Believe piece is so beautiful! Surely, if you were around years ago, Adam, Lawrence Welk would have wanted you to be in his orchestra because you perform so many of the pieces we heard them play on their program. Keep up your wonderful work!
