  • Aviation expert Geoffrey Thomas discusses what went wrong with Bonza.
Budget airline Bonza cancelled all flights across Australia and has entered voluntary administration.
“The aviation industry has never made money since the first passenger stepped on a plane in 1919,” Mr Thomas told Sky News Australia.
    “It’s a very savage industry”.
“Virgin, Qantas and Rex are all powerful brands - you’ve got to have something super special to really make an impact”.

*Are we shocked that an airline named after a slang word that has probably not been used in this country in 25 years went bust?!*

Virgin Australia also went bankrupt, not so long ago. and changed owner. no? He said it "Owner needs to have deep pocket, to run an airline" Definitely, "Not on borrowed money".

This guy has no idea what he’s talking about! If a business is successful it does not need financial backing. It was a stupid idea from the start, the business model works in Europe where you service millions of people, not Sunshine Coast to Albury on 180 seat aircraft🤯

……yes, CEO Tim Jordan at launch boasted about flying routes’ no other airline does. There was a good reason WHY that was the case, & AB has just found that out to their detriment………
