Teachers are underpaid in the US. In my country being a teacher is one of the best-paying jobs. The teachers are also educated on psychology so they can determine if a student suffers from depression or is being bullied. And if they do we have psychologists at schools that can help the students for free. In the US they just put police in school and give guns to teachers...

Chauvin was a sociopath or malignant narcissist who would have enjoyed killing a big muscular white guy just as much but for you its not about screening cop candidates and weeding any psychos out, its all about race. What a belittling and cynical comment. There are loads of good teachers, but the system often fails them and students alike. You can blame that on systemic racism: property tax-based revenue streams that underfund some neighborhoods. And blame it on Republican efforts to undermine schools with budget cuts and voucher programs that generally benefit wealthier families.

PhoenixVG this is what baffles me about Americans. Every time someone is unjustly killed by police - black or white - you find people tripping over themselves to justify it. “He had a conviction for violent crime”, “there was weed in his car”, “he robbed a gas station once”. But the thing is, none of these things are capital offences! None of these things warrant the death penalty - EVEN after a fair trial represented by an attorney and judged by a jury of peers.
So why do people find it acceptable that police can kill someone in the street - but hey it’s okay, he got a DUI 10 years back, he was no saint so it’s cool that he died ?
The issue here is the wanton police violence against the citizens they’re sworn to protect, and the lack of accountability thereafter. Whether they killed an innocent grandmother who never committed a crime in her life, or a hardened criminal with a past of drug use. The issue is that police cannot just execute someone in the streets like a dog- but they keep doing so. And people keep scrambling to find ways to justify it.

I understand that George wasn't the perfect person. He did drugs and was incarcerated a couple times. But that does not mean he shouldn't have had the right to live. The real reason the majority of us are protesting is because George was an every man. Meaning he was just an average everyday person. What Happened to him could have happened to any one of us. Police brutality needs to stop. Not just for black people, but for everyone in the nation. We need police reform. We need every death by an officer to be heavily investigated. also what person keeps a paper for 20+ years?

But, if this is fake and what I’m saying is true that is DISGUSTING, shame on her, but if it _WAS_ true, although that is astronomically high, (I’m sorry-) what I’m saying here is just this is too coincidental like it’s TOO perfect to be true, since it’s literally about BLACK history month, and more coincidences that you could point out yourself (to tired of typing) but this is what I choose to believe for now until actual evidence that she was his 2nd grade teacher and that is indeed his paper.

This goes beyond that, people are brainwashed, if its on tv...its real....they are incapable of independent thought. Its sad in a way, but I cant stand them, the masses are a liability, they basically enforce what the 1% need enforcing. One week too scared to leave the house in case they catch a cold, and calling police on neighbors who 'break the rules', next week, rioting all over the world cos of media manipulation. I was a teacher in my early twenties and i still hold on to some of the drawings my little students made. I had promising students like George who sadly ended up on the wrong side of the law because of their upbringing and environment. Teachers always remember their students as the little kids they once were and we hear things like this, it's very heartbreaking.

Please dont say the wrong side of the law...they said that he tried to pass a counterfeit bill but how do we know thats true? Why would he have sat outside of the store for so long? Wouldnt he have left if he were trying to get away with something? He only purchased cigarettes. I have a friend who tried to purchase food with counterfeit money unknowingly. The police initially lied about everything with Mr. Floyd until the tape came out. Regarding employment - He was a bouncer in a club.

Tracy P. What happened to George was horrible, however, we shouldn’t canonize him. He was on the wrong side of the law during a point in his life prior to this incident. As I understand it he served time in jail for some crimes he committed. But it looks like he was really trying to turn his life around, and he certainly didn’t deserve to die this way. Look at the dreams he had. It’s sad that he ever felt he needed to resort to ANY crimes at all, and that’s the point of this persons comment. His environment and other factors likely contributed to the trouble he got into in his past. It’s sad to think he was trying to do better and then got his life snatched away.
