@christofurg No, I bought an extra set of painted side covers from a Classic and painted them, a lot easier that way. FYI you have to modify the bracket on the battery cover to make Classic covers fit on a Custom but otherwise they go right on.
@brocknchrist I just bought a cheap chrome sissy bar off ebay, sprayed it with some self etching primer, and then hit it with some black lacquer. The paint was actually a glossy paint and for some reason it came out satin over the primer, but that worked out just as well because I like the satin look better.
I actually only had these pipes for about a year and then switched to some chromed Hard Krome Staggered Straights, so I don't know if they have issues with cracking or not. Anyway, on these ones I had to buy the tips separately. The pipes are not ceramic that I know of, and the tips are chromed aluminum. Also they all have baffles but they don't do much muffling. These are nice pipes but I scratched up the heat shield on the front pipe trying finagle it in around the frame.
Lost my job that was 10 minutes away and got a job with a 45 minute commute, and I just wasn't riding it anymore. I was paying $91 a month for it while it sat for a year and I rode it a handful of times, so I figured it was time to move on.
It's only for I believe 07-up bikes...they have some kind of fuel cutoff solenoids in the carb bowl, you have to clip the needles and drill out the solenoid holes. Go to google and search "V Star 1100 Riders", the top two results will be an FAQ and a message board. Check both of them out!
I might have raised them but I can't remember. You don't have to do anything unless you change bars, but even with 10" mini apes I only had to change the clutch hose.
Nice pipes-looking at getting 2.5"or3" for my Vstar 650. Do you know if the tips come in ceramic to match the pipes? Also if they've got baffles or have to source from somewhere else...getting no love from HK/RB website! Btw-read online that they're prone to cracking. You had that prob? Cheers!
See one of my responses below to someone else that asked a similar question. Can't remember exactly now but I like it's the AIS system. sites.google.com/site/vstar1100kb/home/5-modifications/1-ai
Sick looking bike dude!
Thanks! I miss it a lot.

Nice bike. You gotta turn that idle up though man, it's not an old Harley.

Standgas sollwert ist : 950 - 1050 U/min , alles andere ist ungesund öl schmierung , Ladespannung und für einen ruhigen standgaslauf.

Read the description, it's a faux (dummy) intake. There are pod filters under the tank.
wow, such a nice bike. why did you sell it.was it a good bike, just got an 1100 turned into a bobber. . mine being shipped from tx.
After market pipes often cause pops and back fire, have to remove AIS and crackle pops etc. will be gone.gone
where did you get your black out sissy bar from... have the same bike and like the blacked out look...
Yamaha should have never dropped this bike from their production line
your idle should be 1000 rpms or upper head oil starvation can happen.
Did you raise your bars on this bike? They look like the stock ones but a little higher. Any wiring changes/tweaks that you had to do if you did?

How much did you sell the bike for?
Bout 3500 I think? Can't remember. Miss that bike.
would you like to sell them?
I built that myself. I'll sell it to you if you want to buy it.
