    direct line output sounded a lot better than I expected. Though I wouldnt buy it myself, Im sure theres a niche for it somewhere. Also that whisper room is looking pretty good, cant wait to see what you do with it

    I like the piano, but alas I have a few of them. On the other hand, the whisper room I don't have. That I would really like to have. Thanks for the honest and unbiased evaluation of what appears to be a viable alternative for the one who wants quality without spending an arm and a leg. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    Nice, thanks for the demonstrations. I liked the Rhodes emulation. It reminds me of a Rhodes EP being mashed with that one Yamaha EP tone generation. The reed organ is nice, more similar to the mating of a bagpipe and an accordion, which is cool.

    • @ThePianoforever
      @ThePianoforever  3 года назад +2

      It sounded nothing like a Rhodes but was kinda fun to play, IMO.

    HOW DO YOU DO IT?! How do you consistently review the exact pianos that I'm looking for, with the level of detail that I need to make a responsible purchase?! Do you always know what's new and should be reviewed?! YOU DA MAN!!

      Glad to be of help! I often check to see what's new and trending in the digital piano market, and I review many of the instruments that my followers recommend reviewing, too.

    Again a funny and this time decent keyboard. Where do you find those. I never even heard of this brand. But nevertheless nice to listen to, if you forget the internal speakers for a moment. O, and the clicker or it’s official name: paddle. 🙂 anyway thank you for sharing, playing and fiddling around on this nice, slim keyboard and stay away from people who want to put a claim to you. Stay save and healthy.

    I am quite positive (haha) that a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter would allow you to use a different foot switch. :)

    • @ThePianoforever
      @ThePianoforever  3 года назад +3

      There can be complications with foot switches and not all are interchangeable, so I can't say that they would work on every model, but if I had this unit I would certainly be looking for an acceptable replacement.

    Well it's a pretty cool instrument hey😆... I've been thinking of an idea of you doing reviews of digital pianos that are most likely from unknown manufacturers like the one u did of donner... others like innovus and Artesia 🙂

    hey man! I would love to come record at your studio one day. You have a sweet setup there...and nice mics! Are they vintage Neumans? Anyway, I could use some good piano on my original songs, and if I ever get to take a trip, I would like to come by and record something. Cool demo/review of this keyboard!🐰❤️🎸🎵✨🤝✌️

    James,
    Not bad for what it is, but not insporong even for a beginner because of the soun d quality.
    It's the old adage , you get what you pay for.

      Playing it is a little bit fun because of how slim and tiny it is, but I agree, definitely not inspiring, especially those included speakers!

  • @KurtWoloch
    @KurtWoloch 3 года назад +1

    Pretty interesting device! If you turn out a rhythm and some chords, does it still do chords, or does it actually do some kind of accompaniment? Also, I think the reason why the voice numbering corresponds to that of the Donner keyboard is that they both follow the General MIDI standard. It says the VGK8600 has 128 voices, which are probably the exact ones General MIDI calls for. And to keep things simple, they didn't change the numbering for the player like other brands did, the numbers are just off by 1 (patch #11 in General MIDI would be #10 here). The Donner keyboard probably does the same, it just adds additional instruments at the top of the range which isn't part of the standard.

    hey man can you do a review of the Costway 88 Key Digital Piano MIDI Keyboard. Its $150 and claims to be a fully weighted touch sensitive keyboard and that price point seems wild for that

    Can you review or compare the Korg B2 or Korg D1 to the Yamaha P125? Interested in whether giving up the internal speakers is worthy trade off for the better key bed.

    You might also want to update your "copyright watermark" with the current year. Right now, it's still showing 2020, so I'm wondering if this video is recorded back in 2020?
    Copyrighted music is pretty complicated due to many different interpretations of copyright laws from many nations, so I recommend sticking with public domain music for the time being.

    • @ThePianoforever
      @ThePianoforever  3 года назад +2

      I spent the last year writing it as "2020", old habits die hard I guess 😂 Choosing music to perform in RUclips videos is a challenge, and even with music in the public domain I have to deal with false copyright claims from time to time. Have had people claiming the rights to Debussy, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin... it's usually because the algorithm detects the audio and assumes it's a recording, which would have the recording artists' rights attached to it.

    $139 is way too much for a door stopper... I’d never heard the term “hot trash” before, but I think it’s a perfect description of the pedal and the instrument as well! Yamaha makes some nice lightweight digital pianos with either 88 key hammer action, or touch sensitive action, they don’t cost $139, or are they particularly narrow, but I hate to say the Vangoa 8600 seems to be a novelty, and for as awful as it sounds, a bit of rip off as well...

    I think there is no absolute good or bad - it depends on the use case. This thing is junk compared to any "clavinova"-type instrument, let alone a real piano, BUT it would be a heck of a lot better than nothing for a frequent traveller with limited luggage space and/or weight. Or a fairly decent present for a kid, though if the kid gets hooked you'd have to buy him or her something better fairly soon.

      I bought a little Yamaha organ for 10 € a couple years ago.
      But second hand, only 4 octaves, & the top & bottom C's were FUBAR.
      Does that answer your question?

    In 2021 they should come with better sounds than the mono GM samples from 1991. Memory isn't a limit anymore. If the black and white keys respond different to velocity, that makes this instrument useless. I sold a Keytek CTS-5000 digital piano for that reason. With the unit turned off, the keys felt great, but with the unit turned on, I couldn't get the black and white keys matched velocity wise. The Vangoa only has 61 keys; why not buy a cheap Yamaha keyboard from Lidl? It sounds better and it costs only 99 coins.

    • @ThePianoforever
      @ThePianoforever  3 года назад

      I think someone would buy this over a Yamaha just for the aesthetic, honestly. Yamaha's small & cheap keyboards are fat compared to this.

    The bass is terrible and the treble is distorted and it all sounds like the clicking of an old scientific calculator.
