That engine looks sweet! I like that black and silver color. I know you weren't keen on it at first, but I think it looks great.
Ouch. Funny how fast those things happen! You're engine is looking so fresh and clean though!
Thanks! It's getting close.
Oh man, and I thought I was the only one who came out of auto repairs physically injured! Just replaced the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, both bearings, and a slew of other things in one of my Jeeps. I have bruises, cuts, and bumps. Your engine looks great, by the way! Nice work!
Also looking forward to the clutch replacement video, because I certainly did it the hard way! Just glad it’s over haha.
I guess it's expected to get a few busted knuckles. Getting it on camera was funny. Haha!
I appreciate your motives for putting the old clutch back in, I may need to replace the one on my 94 soon and I'm eager to see your video on how to do it without removing the engine. I'm almost caught up on all your videos and I've already rewatched a few to do my own repairs. Hope your finger is feeling better, thanks for continuing to film through the pain!
Thanks for following along!
Rebuilt a 92 jeep 4.0 took me one month. Set the clutch by hand no clutch tool..ty ty
Bud, when you first placed your hand under that flywheel I started cringing. I was hoping it wouldn't drop .. but .. it did. Been there done that! Man it hurts!! I got one vid where a ratchet slipped and hit myself in the face. Yep .. there was blood! Good job, wrap it and keep going!! Later
I guess live and learn. Haha!!
Ouch, know that feeling
Haha! yep, I guess we've all been there
Good video Dale, hope the finger got better. It's amazing how much blood can come out of a finger, lol
Haha! yep. Bled like a stuck pig. Haha!
Good catch, man I hurt when I seen it. Ouch.
I feel your pain Dale , I did the same thing many years ago and yes it was very sore for a few weeks . Hope you get better soon . Just wondering if you are going to paint your engine compartment before you put in that beautiful 4.0 ? Until next time take care my friend .
Thanks man! Finger is feeling better. And, Yes, I am touching up the engine compartment a bit before it goes back in. 👍
GOOD THINKING DALE, FIX OR MAKE STUFF LOOK PRETTY WHILE ENGIONE IS OUT.
I dropped a whole Jeep on my finger when I was 17 years old. It took 7 stitches. Luckily I pulled it out before it crushed my bone but I thing we still have soft bones at that age.
Well . . . not the *whole* Jeep, just the front end of my 48 Willies
Good afternoon
Hopefully you heal up quickly. Never fun smashing things, especially the fingers. I understand you wanting to do a clutch video later but you could always do it in your daily driver. That way this jeep is drivable sooner.
Yeah, I get that, but I'll still drive it. At least I don't have to worry about burning up the clutch. Haha!
Hope your finger is feeling better
It's starting to feel better. Thanks.
If you don't bleed a little, you are not doing it right. Lol hope the finger is better.
Haha! I guess that just means things are getting done. 👍
I AGREE WITH HUFF.
Blood sweat & tears is what it takes sometimes. Glad your doing well.
Been following along every video. Great videos. Starting to tear transmission out of mine tomorrow. Any tips for getting a transmission out without a transmission jack?
Dale, I'm wondering how you did not use every name in the book 🤣🤣 I dropped a engine on my fingers once while a friend was lowering it down into bay. I dam near killed him 🤣🤣
Haha!! Yeah, I guess I don't respond normally. Ha
@@JeepSolid LOL!!
I would never put in an old used clutch back in. That's just nuts IMHO. That's just not right...
Hope you can grow back a new finger!
I BASICALLY SAID THE SAME THING, I WOULDN'T EITHER MARIODESMO, NO FREGGIN WAY. BUT HE SAY'S HE WANTS TO SHOW HIS FANS HOW TO CHANGE A CLUTCH ? WELL I THINK HE CAN SHOW US IN REVERSE AS HE PUTS A NEW ONE IN NOW ? MAYBE IT'S JUST ME OR HE'S REALLY DAMN LOYAL TO HIS FANS ?
Whats the blue tube of stuff you put on the engine mounting bolt threads?
Thread locker blue
You were NOT DUMB for having the fly wheel crush your finger, it happens. I've lost a few finger nails in my time working on things, no matter how careful you are IT HAPPENS. I do feel YOU SHOULD HAVE REPLACED THE WHOLE CLUTH ASSEMBLY THOUGH WHILE IT'S OUT. I KNOW YOU WANT TO MAKE A VID. ON IT IN THE FUTURE BUT YOU COULD SHOW YOUR FANS HOW IT ALL WORKS BY REPLACING THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY, JUST IN REVERSE. IT'S YOUR DECISION & TIME SO, IT'S UP TO YOU SIR JS.
Yeah, I guess any job around tools and heavy parts can lead to injury. Funny I caught it on camera. Haha
YES SIR I AGREE, ALSO NOT THAT YOU CAUGHT IT ON CAMERA BUT YOU LEFT IT IN & DID NOT DELETE IT, NO FAKE STUFF IN YOUR VIDS. SIR. WE APPRECIATE THAT VERY MUCH JS.
I have a 1987 yj 4.2 258, looking to change manual transmission to automatic does anyone know what transmission I could use.
Factory for that year was a A999, I would see if you can find a 30rh, just know its gonna be hard to get all the little linakges and wiring to make it work.
@@fishsticksmlg , Thanks
@@fishsticksmlg can I use my transfer case I think it's the p231.
It was impressive you. Remember you was on camera & didn't start yelling & cussing
Haha! Thanks. Sure hurt like mad. Could feel my heartbeat in it. Haha!!
You really need to machine that burned flywheel! I can see the chatter marks and burns from the video. Check the pressure plate for burns and chatter. It would be a waste of time and effort to not repair the problem now instead of a few months down the line. Good luck.
Yeah. I'm going to replace it all in the future.
I couldnt see myself putting that wasted clutch back in....
Yeah. Doesn't make sense, does it. Haha!
I would of been swearing like a trucker. Ouch
Same and I am a trucker too.
Hahahaha
Haha! Yeah, hurt pretty bad.
Oh Damn..I can't work on an auto without depreciating my hide. Lol
Yeah. I guess they go hand in hand 👍
