Is there any sandblasting workshop for car bodyshell in m'sia? I've seen videos on sandblast in europe, usa. In my opinion, need to sandblast the bodyshell to see the full extent of the rust damage. Lucky this car got a caring owner.
I would like to know what places the owner (Or previous owner) sent the car to that they screwed the car up so badly to turn out like this as we see today. Violence should be an acceptable answer sometimes. 🌚
@@salleh5131 Not all body and paint shops like that lah. But it certainly gives a really bad name for the industry. I mean, who uses tape to cover rust spots, and then paints over them? Kindergarten kids do a better job gluing paper together than what's down to this poor E30.
Why don't one buy a better condition one, but instead decided to waste time and money on a project like this. I mean if it's DIY I get it, it's passion but this is not.
No doubt, buying a better condition car and doing it up will be a much more cost effective route, but owner has sentimental attachment to this car, and you can't put a price on that
Good update. Great to learn abut car restoration

@John Gomez I see tadika children doing a better job gluing pieces of paper than doing this car.
BMW of that time is well known for being a rust bucket. This looks like it needs a whole new body...
I think by the end of the restoration, the probably only part that is original to the car are its roof and pillars, it's that far gone.
