- Hi there! Welcome to this house building video in the Sims 4! Today I'm building a part of the city centre of Amsterdam (the Bloemgracht, to be exact) how it would look after the War Of The Worlds has taken place. You may know the War of the Worlds from the famous sci-fi movie with Tom Cruise or from a legendary radio broadcast in 1938 that shook the American Nation.
In this build you can find 17 houses. 3 of them I combined together in a functional house for 4 adults, 4 kids and 4 baby's to live in.
I made this massive build to celebrate that I've hit 50K subscribers. Because of that I wanted to make something dear to my heart. Amsterdam, the capital of the country where I live in, the Netherlands.

This is like.... Just so so so so so good.
The aliens actually die because they get exposed to the common cold!! Which is very funny. I'd really recommend listening to Jeff Wayne's musical version of war of the worlds, it's truly epic.
Omg, if someone were to make an entire series in these lots with cool editing, music, and voice acting, I'd watch it.

This build is INSANE! The houses look so realistic, you immediately know this is Amsterdam. And then the post-apocalyptic take on it is just so well done! A-ma-azing!

Het idee om Amsterdam in een apocalyptische sci-fi thema te bouwen is zo creatief. Dit is nu mijn favoriete sims 4 bouwvideo.
This is easily the most beautiful build ever in Sims... I am in awe! I've visited Amsterdam many times (I'm Dutch) and this has all of the atmosphere in it. Perfection.
And by the way: you said that the atmosphere killed the Martians in War of the Worlds, if you read the original book its actually the pathogens (bacteria, viruses) in our blood and air that did them in. As HG Wells concludes it: "slain, after all man's devices had failed, by the humblest things that God, in his wisdom, has put upon this earth"
The aliens in war of the worlds actually died from the common cold, since according to the writer of the book H.G Wells, the invading Martians eradicated pathogens.
Also the autumn look is so appropriate, definitely reminiscent of the red weed

Funnily enough, the Stuff You Should Know podcast just did an episode on the War of the Worlds panic myth like 2 weeks ago! This must be floating around in the ether right now. 😊 This build is unreal. As ever, my mind is blown by what you manage to build in this game! 😱

What an incredible build, the details are absolutely fabulous. You’re absolutely the best designer in the Sims 4 when it comes to the impossible builds because you don’t build homes you build exotic things, out of the box things that are playable where imagination can run wild. It’s so impressive and you are a true artist and someone to look up to. Wow, incredible build..... Your truly an inspiration for me to try and reach new heights.

AmsterDAMN! wow, just wow, i love it. We recently got windmills build near where i live (vlak bij de N33 in Groningen :p ) and there are little red lights at night when looking out my window now. It always reminds me of war of the Worlds somehow. And this totally gives me the same feeling! Stunning!
These apocalyptic ones you are doing, just keep getting better and better! You are seriously one of the most talented sim builders in the World.

The devil is in the detail as they say, what an incredibly detailed build. The street is very well replicated, but it's the small things like the sunken boat or the weird bike that's almost falling in the water that I appreciate the most ! This serie is the best you've done in my opinion :) impressive and very charming

I know you may not be ready; but I'd love to see my home Scotland being reclaimed by nature and zombie animals that we put into extinction. That would be cool! But anything you want :)
It is so awesome to see Amsterdam in the Sims. I never imagined. Btw, I think a great project for you would be to create an Ankor Wat like temple, from Cambodja. I think you would rock that.
As a suggestion for something smaller to build that's still kind of iconic maybe a Frank Lloyd Wright building or house? They're smaller but I think still would present a challenge and still sort of fit under the landmarks category. Falling Water in Pennsylvania, US is probably the most well known? Or there's Taliesin West in Arizona, US which is a very cool looking structure.
I really want to know what your sims worlds look like. Must be a masterpiece from corner to corner 😮
OMG--this is amazing! The roofs are especially gorgeous. Even the little door or window wells (I'm not sure what they're called) in front of the houses are such a nice touch. This is perfect to go with the zombie apocalypse mod. 😄

We always think Sims 4 restricts us so much in our gameplay, but the way you're building is really how this game should be played (imo).

I have been to Amsterdam only two times, both were school trips, and it looks just like I remember it (of course without your apocalypse addition, you know what I mean ;D).

Idea for the next one: maybe you could turn the Colosseum in Rome into a post-apocalyptic military base? The last place the cities inhabitants are still holding out against the zombie hordes?
Lego just came out with their own big new Colosseum built (not post-apocalyptic though ;p), and it would be really cool if you would also give it a go ^^

As a French tourist may I could tell you some famous places that I've been to, like the cube houses in Rotterdam, the Markthal also ! And of course the Ann Frank's House, but I guess it's not such easy builds to make look apocalyptic !

YOUR BUILDS ARE SO AMAZING!! Would you ever consider doing a brutalist build? If you search "green brutalism" or "alexandra and ainsworth estate" you'll find some interesting inspiration. It's a little different from anything else you've built on this channel before but I think you'd have a ton of fun with it!

I really love Amsterdam! This brings back memories of visiting there with my friends years ago. What a beautiful city--even in this destroyed state. I'm already imagining playing on this lot and having the sims who live there slowly clean up and rebuild over time .If you are still taking suggestions for this series, I don't know if anyone has ever attempted The Sphinx in Sims 4. Maybe it could be going against expectations by having the desert snow-covered or maybe there was overpopulation at one time and people took over the area with buildings around it.

Love War of the Worlds! I can't really think of it without the big scary tripod fighting machines though, but this is one of the coolest builds I've seen from the Sims 4 :3
All these bicycles gave exactly the "netherlands vibe" 😂 I remember when I traveled to Amsterdam with highschool they explained me that bicycles are what motorcycle are in Italy. Just perfect 👌🏻
