    I've just decided to learn and got a few kits, which left me scratching my head. With a few of your videos, the pattern makes so much more sense and I'm excited to begin! This was so informative! I also watched your video on how to cross stitch on a printed pattern: so helpful! Thank you!

    OMG! I love cross stitch. I used to do it a lot years ago but because of lack of time I had to stop. But now that I'm retired and am doing diamond painting also, I think I can try again. I've never done a printed canvas like this though. I've done stamped cross stitch like pillow cases and such and I've done counted. But I think with my eyes being as bad as they are now, a printed canvas would be better. I might try it again. Nataliya, you inspire me!

      Oh Nancy, i would love to see your work from years ago. 11 ct very easy to do on the soft count, but the way i work in my hands, sometimes it's hard to pull tread, as this canvas are very stiff . Thank you very much for watching my videos

      @@Lovecraftforever I wish I had works from years ago but I lost them all. I know it is sad but what can I do? I might have a couple of unfinished pillow cases somewhere. But I would love to start again. Maybe I'll start with some small projects. Currently I have a few wips in crochet and diamond paint so I'll have to finish some of these projects first.

    Thank you so much for your video. Very helpful of how to begin and end with 3 threads. I have been doing printed cross stitch for a while now and I'm sure by now you know that the ink washes out beautifully. I have always knotted the thread and hated how the back looked. Awesome job.

  • @suntexi

    I roll the canvas up too, but I roll it so the printed side is inside. This protects the paint against any moisture on your hands which could smudge it. I use clips either end to hold it, either paper clips, or those used to seal plastic bags. Also, I don't use a roll of anything as it would make it too bulky.

  • @karlabavousett9869

    I was taught to work from center of picture outwards. Yes I too would get white thread for the snow/rooftops. I think using the foam roll is a great way. They have adjustable plastic frames about the same thickness as the foam roll. Michael's should have them but not sure of the cost. Thanks for sharing your process. As many years I have crafted, I always enjoy watching others with their techniques. 🙏💜💜💜

    • @Lovecraftforever

      Work from the center, usually for the not printed canvas, so you can find easy the center of the picture. I my example here, i can start from anywhere. Thank you for visiting me

    Another very good informative tutorial on this craft, I had purchased 2 of the Joy Sundays pre-printed cross stitch patterns after watching Stitching with Lora, anyways I stopped because it was a bit overwhelming after coming back after years of not stitching, anyways when I saw the topic I got excited and ran and picked my project back up. These tips will give me inspiration to keep going and strive to complete this one that I have. I haven't decided which way to stitch by the color per section seems to sound better, because otherwise there might be long threads all over the back of the pattern. I placed my threads in a plastic ziplock bag and cut the numbers out just like in Dp'ing. Thank you for all your tips and looking forward to your progress and videos.

      Hello Patricia, may I ask you if you use only cool water or do you add some liquid soap or any other product. I saw one video of our dear Lovecraftforever in which she used warm water and Dishwashing liquid. Honestly I am thinking to wash it all before i start to avoid any risk then i will cross stitch on a white canvas just following the picture symbols (I am used to the cross stitch of the Brand DMC on a virgin white canvas and i know it is more difficult without symbols on the canvas itself) What do u advise? BTW Lovecraftforever i am curious of your opinion as well :)

    • @patbannister1
      @patbannister1 3 года назад +1

      @@Soussou110682 I use cool water and just a drop of dish soap. I then let it sit for about 20 mins. Then I do it again, without any soap. Then just a quick rinse in cool water and it’s clean. I’ve never had a problem with symbols remaining or my piece looking “muddy”.

I wouldn’t stitch the white part, until the rest of the project is done. • @Lovecraftforever
      @Lovecraftforever  5 лет назад

      Thanks for your question. No i did not talk about this in my video, but i should in my next one. The only why your tread knotting up or twisting, because you are using too long tread, or wool treads. I am working with DMC treads right now and they are not twisting at all. But when i was working on my Teddy Bear, i had the same problems as you. I hope this helps.
