- Singer, poet, and musician Stella Rose chats about her dad, Depeche Mode singer Dave Gahan, taking inspiration from PJ Harvey and "playing a long game".
Stella Rose released two songs in 2022, Muddled Man and Angel, and is now working towards her debut album.

Living in New York, Stella Rose is no stranger to her predecessors. She toys with the language of folkloric ballads, conducting narrations of her most inner reveries through life experiences and observation. Hanging around even after the coffee has gone cold, she is a collector.
Stella Rose met Producer Yves Rothman in November of 2020 in Los Angeles. After listening to her low-fi voice note poetry, Yves and Stella Rose spend 2 weeks together in the studio. During a time when things felt uncertain, the stars seemed to align. Stella Rose’s debut track "Muddled Man" is like a Videodrome, a murder of your most precious possession.
Her band, Stella Rose and the Dead Language, have been found playing packed-out clubs all around downtown New York and Brooklyn, opening up for bands Pretty Sick and Girlpool. Stella Rose will be featured in the October Issue of Buffalo Zine, photographed by Richard Kern, and in an editorial for Flaunt Magazine later this year.

She sucks horribly! And the using her parents connections to get what actual talent with no privilege of connections seldom get in contracts is unethical. Just a talentless hack whose daddy got her into the business. I don't know why YT recommended this to me.

I like you Stella Rose, not because you are Dave Gahan daughter's but 'cause you are genuine and pure as young people are. I appreciate your dedication to the ART of MUSIC, your self-awareness, and your iconoclastic view of masculine and feminine. Gender and transgender are coeval stuff and what you are saying sounds really like breaking down borders. Artists are revolutionary and consistent; keep in mind Goethe's motto: nature gives you talent but your job is to cultivate it forever. Good job Stella 🥰

PJ Harvey is a great writer musician and a performer. It's hard to find many female artists that are solo performers in the last 20 years that are original or as unique as PJ. Stella could be the answer

Poor girl, I wish her luck in her music career, but she will always be “Dave Gahan’s daughter”. Not because she is not talented enough (I cannot judge it). It is absolutely impossible to be as great as Dave and DM are.
And unfortunately she doesn’t have his look and his huge charisma. Stella Rose is unique, but I don’t think she will be successful as a singer. We’ll see.
