    Here's a question and a thought. If you know the storm is coming, why not stay off the roads and out of the mountains?

      Well, other than the fools, there are people that HAVE to get somewhere, like it or not. Glad I'm not one of them. Stayed home with the woodburner going. Digging out today.

    Is it that rare or back to norms? It's -36'C in my Canuck Rockies this morning, and many are shocked. Back in eighties I remember -53'C so it's really not that bad.

      It is usually we get 2-4 feet from a good storm at a time this one storm dumped that in an hour in certain places and we normally don't get the wind with the snow storm at least not 70 mile hour winds

    • @waynesimpson4081
      @waynesimpson4081 3 месяца назад +1

      Well, the snow pack was a little below average before the storm. And historically, the Sierra gets big snow totals. So sort of back to 1960's to 1980's norms, yeah. It was unusual to have a blizzard (heavy winds), a cold Alaska/Pacific storm during an El Nino (usually warmer and wetter).
