- This is a simple trick to get some extra ZamZam water through the Jeddah / Madinah airport after Umrah Hajj 2024: NEW ZamZam policy.
Here’s some practical tips which should be useful when you travel for Hajj or Umrah.

In madinah the zam zam water is sold outside before check-in. Inside the Madinah airport you dont find zam zam water for sale.
This I experienced my self in Feb 2024. In Makkah I was told that you are not allowed to purchase zam zam water outside the airport
@ Feroza Ahamed: At Madinah and Jeddah airports, you can purchase ZamZam water. Of course, it is purchased before check in because you have to declare your ZamZam water when you check in.
Yes, the one in Madinah is just outside the entrance to the terminal on the right hand side. I have shown the location of ZamZam shop both at Madinah and Jeddah airports in my episode no. 24.
What is the process to check in the zam zam water. We are planning on travel with Turkish airlines. It allows 2 x23kg. Do you have to pay Xtra weight?
@ Amina,
Turkish airlines normally takes ZamZam as a separate item and does not include it in your baggage allowance. When you go to the airport, they weigh your luggage (without ZamZam) and put a separate tag on ZamZam. Then they ask you to drop off the ZamZam at a counter nearby.
However, for more details, I suggest you contact your airline.
I am traveling from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and coming back to Pakistan and then to my country which is USA. Can I put zam zam water in my checked in luggage? I am flying emirates airline
@ Samina Irfan, would you like to put ZamZam in your checked in luggage from Pakistan to USA? I cannot say for sure.
However, from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Emirates should carry it as a separate item.
Does zam zam water 5L goes to cabin or baggage ? and does the weight effect additional our cabin and baggage?
The 5L ZamZam usually goes as a separate item and not included in your baggage allowance. However, please check with your airline to be sure.
assalamu aleikum, I have a question, do you know how much the taxi rides from jeddah airport to jeddah is, and if you don´t knwo what would you say is a reasonable price to be charged.
Secondly it is the type of question: from jeddah to medina and jeddah to mecca, what would you say is a reasonable price to be charge with..

Uber from Jeddah airport to Jeddah city costs between 80 and 100 SAR.
A private car/taxi ride from Jeddah airport to Makkah can be arranged for 120 to 150 riyals. (Although some of them will ask for much more but you can get it for less If you follow my tips from episode 5).
A private car/taxi (not shared) from Jeddah to Madinah is around 500 to 600 SAR.
