I saw them live in Kansas City here in 2023. You can't believe how good they are. I loved their excellent recordings and videos, but they really are 10 times better in person. Austin is incredible on the guitar and Dawna's voice is powerful and unique in the tradition of the Blues Queens. If you ever get the chance to see this band, DO NOT miss it.

Austin John is a bad ass Guitar player and his band the Hi-Jivers is a awesome band I love it and can't get enough
AJ and Dawna are criminally under followed IMHO. They do such a great job and their current band is perfection IMO. AJ is one of the most talented players I've ever heard. I can't even imagine how many thousands of hours he has invested into his playing. I've never seen a YT of them that didn't rock....awesomeness....thanks for a great upload bro

Great interview. What a great show that would be with the Blasters. Phil Alvin taught math at Long Beach State back in the early 90's. Saw him walking around a couple times when I was in school.

It's not often that the rhythm guitar can be such a dynamic part of the band. AJ's solos are solid for sure, but the relentless solid rhythm is just a clinic. I'm 71, been playing pro since 1973, you dont hear this level of groove very often.
