This might come a little late, but guys, this video isn't about the live action Fate. Fate was not a reboot. It was an adaptation. This is about Season 9, which is confirmed to be a reboot of the animated series- though whether it's a hard or soft reboot isn't known yet.
If i was going to reboot the series I'd change the cast and character design. The main six are Bloom-Same Stella-Same Layla-Same Brandon- hispanic/ latino with black hair. Riven-Same but Asian Helia- black and white and Native American. Id keep Magic winx Charmix Enchantix Believix Nature transformation Sirenix but with Harmonix design but sirenix wings. The powers are Bloom fairy of the dragon flame Stella fairy of sun and moon Layla fairy of water Brandon fairy of technology Riven fairy of Music Helia fairy of natute Fairy colour. Bloom-Blue Stella- orange Layla-pink Brandon- Green Riven-Red Helia-Purple. Pixies but new Selkies but new
Honestly, if they went full FASHION DOLL, they could do very well for themselves. The animated series is dead, the live action series is reviled, so using dolls to keep the Winx brand alive could be the key. Have each girl embody a distinct style: preppy, edgy, glam, sporty, cottagecore, modern everygirl - and loosely tie the series mythos into the theming for each dolls, like cosmos accessories in gold for Stella or flower ones for Flora. Give Musa a DJ set, and Tecna a computer. Do a mobile game where you can use the powers, and include cards/codes with each doll for spells. Winx fans at this point are adults, so catering to them as collectors is the way to go, while at the same time keeping appeal to younger people by making dolls that are simply good quality, diverse, stylish, and fun.
I genuinely hope they won't make the franchise go towards the childish direction, even though Winx club was a cartoon for kids the audience was a bit older and could already understand the "mature" plot points, they also need to have better character design than they had in the later seasons bc to be honest the fashion was probably the reason half the audience watched the show lol. And I hope you'll feel better soon! 💖💖💖
they already went for the “childish“ direction when they started working with Nick and it has hurt the franchise ever since. no wonder they went for a “reboot“.
I hope they maintain a preteen to early teen audience, that way everyone can enjoy it! Like the newer seasons felt so dumbed down :( I also hope they create more diverse characters and stop whitewashing Flora and Aisha!
@@asxtro7145 Musa’s race changed too. In the earlier seasons she was Chinese, wearing Chinese inspired outfits…. In season 8 she could’ve easily passed as white lol
@@woah9234 Your outfits do not determine your ethnicity. She’s always had light skin and in season 8 her eyes are slightly different from the rest of the girls. While their art style now doesn’t help a character look Asian, I don’t believe she’s gotten white washed if she’s had light skin to begin with.
Si eso es verdad amo a roxy espero también que no cambien sus hermosos ojo como también su cabello y espero que le cambie la ropa de roxy por que ya es hora que roxy tenga sus ropa siempre las winx se cambie y ella no 😔
I agree, but she is already Believix, and someone commented me that she only have one transformation so she doesn't need the other fairy forms such as Enchantix or etc. but I still agree with you and I wished roxy is a seventh member of Winx like Aisha/layla in S2
i feel like anytime a series does the shift in age demographic the series goes downhill a bit. Honestly if they just aimed at their original demographic, they'd probably be fine. And I'd def be interested in episodes focused on pairings of the girls that we didn't really see in the series. I recently rewatched the first few seasons and it is laughable how little screentime Flora got in the show.
Well they couldn’t help it as Nickelodeon was the one who made that change as they constantly ignore their 12 and up demographic as they still think that’s never going to be the big bucks and ratings because apparently no one watches any kind of animation after becoming a teenager. No I’m not kidding. They considered Invader Zim a failure because it wasn’t getting high ratings from it’s child audience that they were pushing it to while the ratings from the tween and teen crowd that the show was appealing to (like me) was ignored because they weren’t who Nick was marketing it for. Which yes is also ironic as the creator of IZ was making it with that demographic in mind since his comics were popular with that same group.
i don't mind having the romantic relationships with the specialists but they don't need to be the only reason the specialists exist in the plot. and instead of every relationship being perfect, they could discuss some different types of romantic relationships. the original series did that rather well, but i'd love to see it go even deeper than it did. like with bloom and sky, make them talk about their differences even more and have them grow, and how about tecna and timmy having difficulties when it comes to showing physical affection and so on? and how about you don't kill nabu, the only non-white man in the specialist group. and how about just completely erasing riven from existing (or just even rewriting him.. he can still be edgy and mean-spirited but please don't make him as toxic and unlikable).
Agreed! Still, I honestly believe that, following the idea of going a bit further exploring relationships, River would be an important part, showing him as the asshole he is and the consecuences his attitude has.
I hope they focuse on the girls more since tbh I don't really remember much of the boys outside of Helia (cause I thought he was very cute) and Riven (whom i despised as a kid)
honstly the only guy i remember was sky, i rember some of the outher guys but dont remeber there names, i also remeber ieasha boyfriend or what ever dieing.
I agree with fewer relationships. I was always more into the action and lore, but showing a few healthy couples can be a great character builder and a good example to the young audience. Stella was in an established relationship with Brandon at the beginning, Bloom and Sky developed organically, and Tecna and Timmy made sense, but the others were unrealistic. Riven and Musa especially was abusive and painful to watch in Season 1.
I agree. I was more into the action, story, and seeing all the cool visual effects they used for spells and whatnot. I tried watching Winx again sometime last year starting at season 7 and just couldn't because it was so dumbed down and made me cringe.
The only thing I didnt like about their relationships were the fights, unrealistic, solved with bland apologies and showed no character development, especially for stella and brandon :/
I liked Riven/Musa in Season 1. Yes, he wasn't a good person, but Musa was aware of that, consequently keeping her distance despite having feelings for him. And you can be in love with someone even if you rationally know they wouldn't be good for you. That's relatable, especislly for an early teen audience. Only after he realized his mistakes and tried to become a better person, did she actively start seeking him out. I thought that fit well into both of their character arcs: Him learning to be trustworthy and her being able to trust again. It was in Season 2 when the writers decided to keep Riven as the "bad boy" despite his supposed character growth in Season 1 that things turned toxic. In the reboot I'd like to either see him build on the seeds planted in the Season 1 finale by actively bettering himself or him and her eventually going their seperate ways. Flora should definitely stay single. Or if she absolutely has to date someone make it Myrta. Helia may be my favorite specialist, but let's be frank: He shouldn't be a specialist at all, since he is a *pacifist* at a *military academy* which only highlights how tacked on he is. Flora did fine as a single in Season 1, so I don't see why she suddenly needed a boyfriend in Season 2.
Things I want to see: -more adventures between two or three of the Winx separately, especially the ones who don't share dorms -more worldbuilding, visiting different planets and enriching their cultures and traditions -more individualised clothing (Bloom - the girl next door, Stella - bold fashionista, Flora - cottagecore, Musa - punk tomboy, Tecna - idk, her clothing style is pretty unique, Aisha - lots of sportswear and cargo print) -them changing the style of Roxy's first form and giving her Charmix (and maybe Enchantix) -the original pixies (Bloom and Lockette, Stella and Amore, Flora and Chatta, Musa and *Tune*, Tecna and *Digit*, Aisha and Piff, and also Roxy bonding with Zing, the pixie of arthropods) -exploring more of the school (if they're going back to school) -still plot focused but also with more character-focused stories as well, they can do a lot with 50 episodes -better spells and incantations (no generic energy beams or generic coloured shields) -If they're not going back to school, give them different professions (Bloom stays a teacher, Stella as a boutique owner and fashion designer, Flora as a botanist and owning a bakery, Musa as a famous musician and songwriter, Tecna as a video game developer, Aisha as a teacher to Andros children on how to use water magic and being the Princess of Andros) Things I DON'T want to see: -every Winx member having a boyfriend -insufferable childish jokes -useless McGuffins -whitewashing in any form -Musa being feminine -the girls getting no character development -CARA AND CHERIE DON'T DESERVE TO REPLACE THE AMAZINGNESS OF DIGIT AND TUNE HOW DARE YOU PLEASE STOP EXISITING RIGHT NOW!!!!!! -them being at Alfea every single episode -no continuity -reusing villains -a generic uniform transformation with a cringe transformation sequence (looking at you, Butterflix!) Romance ❤: -Flora and Helia -Musa and Aisha -Bloom and Tecna being legitimately happy single -Stella constantly looking for someone to love, but she always has crushes on the people already in relationships -Bloom and Tecna convincing Stella to be happy single and not to rush into a relationship -the relationships being healthy and mutually supportive ones
I hope they go back to the really specific personal outfits in the transformations. I loved that Tecna had a very technological vibe in her clothes, just like Flora was very flower-girly. Also, the relationship thingy was absolutely fine with me, but why did Aisha's-Layla's boyfriend had to die? Also her storyarc always had to be the most dark for some reason. Like how she had to become blind in order to get her enchantix. That was like really unnecessary. Especially when you see the other girls didn't had to go through such a dark fase.
Oh, yeah, other girls didn't have to go through such a dark faze - Stella died, Flora drowned, Musa almost burnt in fire, Tecna got trapped inside the Omega dimension, but all these things are not as bad as being blind *sarcasm* Of course Layla has got a darker story ark, but saying that she sacrificed more than the other girls to get her Enchantix - are you serous?
Lol Tecna had to fight for her life surviving in one of the most dangerous places in the magic dimension after sacrificing herself. She was literally trapped in a cold place filled with vicious enemies and criminals. Those criminals could have tortured her to death or even possibly molest her. If the concept of winx was darker, she may have had obvious signs of PTSD for the rest of the season.
@Will N if Tecna was from earth then she could be ASD. But i think her whole personality and the way that she is has been rooted and heavily influenced from her home planet since her early childhood. Zenith people have adapted to being logical and numb to emotions, like its in their blood/culture and they are used to it because its their way of life. Its almost similar in real life where certain countries have specific beliefs/cultures that its citizens always live by or adapted into their way of living regardless of which new environment they transfer to
I hope you feel better soon. EDIT: Was anyone else disappointed when they decided to give Icy a tragic backstory so she was less evil/not really bad? Why couldn't she be evil for evil's sake? Not everyone is a good person.
I hated it because 1)It came out of nowhere 2)It had the potential to be interesting and show more of a connection between her and Bloom. Both survivors who lost their planets. But they didn't do anything with it 3)Randomly makes an Indigenous coded woman be the one to curse Icy's planet. Like ok........and then never see her again
straffi literally confirmed in the past all 3 girls were sisters in the trixx, then suddenly they are not? however i think it was more the execution of the backstory then the story itself. i like how it parallelled bloom's but the way it evolved was a bit strange. then again my little sister and her friends love icy (she's not all bad she went through stuff!" - my sibling) so, i guess they got with their demographic lol
Yes I hate that. This backstory now makes Icy kinda hypocrite since she went after Bloom. Icy is supposed to be evil for godsake rainbow!! They really fucked up completely with season 8.
No, I wasn't disappointed at all... In fact, I was happy to see that they gave icy a backstory to show us the reason for her behavior, I hope they will focus on giving her a redemption arc, not every villain should stay as the villain for so many seasons in a show Though I agree with y'all who say that it came randomly at the end of the season
I hope they don't retcon the relationship between Riven and Musa again. I liked that they featured a toxic relationship, and focused on how much it hurt Musa, as well as how much she was able to grow from it. But then the later seasons retconned it, and it just annoyed the hell out of me, because that was a huge part of her character. And I feel like it's important for kids to know about these things, so they can recognize signs and hopefully be able to navigate their way in relationships better when they're older. Also, Heart of Stone is absolutely one of my favorite Winx songs ever.
Exactly! Now their relationship is annoying. I felt like they just erased that part of Musa's past. I don't think they are even going to recognize their relationship because of the age the company is going for but I hope they just present their relationship wayy better in the reboot. I just wished that Nickelodean never took over. Winx club was still even doing good without Nickelodeon.
As an italian person, Winx Club always had (and always will have) a very special place in my heart, and I'm proud to see it being well known also outside Italy. I also agree with all of these points. I like to compare Winx Club with Barbie movies: the first seasons, while not having stellar writing, were still pretty good and enjoyable and you could see they had effort put into them. Then, as time went on, they started becoming more and more girlier and dumbed down for the sake of marketability. Just because a show is aimed at young girls doesn't mean it has to be childish and relying on "fashion sparkle pink". Just look at W.I.T.C.H., another italian magical girl trope animated show also aimed at a young girls demographic that however still managed to be smart and mature (other examples can also be MLP FIM, Sailor Moon, Steven Universe, Kim Possible, the original Powerpuff Girls, the DC Superhero Girls reboot...). Heck, the main writer Iginio Straffi also created Huntik, proving he can be a good writer! Now on that topic, I hate Fate with a passion, how it tries so hard to be "edgy!1" and how they butchered its main characters (and its whitewashing). Speaking of that, I never got over the fact that such a diverse show got whitewashed so much through the years. Flora now is basically white and if it wasn't for her brown hair I wouldn't be able to tell if it's Flora or Bloom, Musa doesn't look asian anymore and Aisha is the biggest offender; she was such a good representation for little black girls, and now she looks like she's just a little tanned😔 Really hope the reboot won't be "omg look at us we are so EdGy" as Fate, but will still try to do justice to the earlier seasons.
Imo, Layla should've gotten time to grieve and maybe have the series show how she deals with her difficulty to come to terms with Nabu's passing; for example in Jane the Virgin after she lost Michael she had a hard time jumping back into the dating world and I feel like they should've done that with Layla, maybe she'll find another guy to be with but in reality not all those who lose their lovers date again and usually decide to be single, I hope they decide to discover this storyline because she deserved so much more🥺
As an Italian Winx Club is a pillar of my childhood These days I'm rewatching the first season I like the idea of a reboot, much better than another useless season BUT honestly I would like another kind of reboot A male reboot, starring a group of male fairies, with different ethnicities, body sizes and LGBT characters Because I have always found it sexist that the fairy school only had female students, and the specialist school only had male students In the reboot I would like to see that the school of Alfea is open to everyone I want to see the male fairies show their wings It would be a great way to break down certain stereotypes ( fairies are only female ...) and toxic masculinity
I don't think that would be a good reboot idea, swapping the main group to a male group with diverse characters and having a few of them be lgbtq+ sounds just like a whole bunch of other modern shows injecting diversity and gender politics into the show. While I wouldn't mind following a new group or there being male fairies and female specialists, it doesn't have to be the "Girl Boss" type characters for the females and we don't need the male characters to be all pathetic and play second fiddle to the female characters just to make the female characters shine. I just feel like we need great writing, directing, animation and artstyle as well as fashion for the characters.
i've never watched winx club, but if they went at it from a she-ra angle and balanced out the appeal to kids and adult fans i'd be stoked. (though not sure how it'd work with short episodes) wishing you a speedy recovery, thank you for sharing this treat from the vault! :)
Thank you! I always got so frustrated as a kid that we lost more time with the girls for the specialists. I honestly hate how all girl shows feel the need to shoehorn in boyfriends. I don't have a problem with some girls having them, most girls like boys instead of girls, but it was really boring and isolating to me because I couldn't relate. I really would like if we could have a lesbian relationship, but I also know that's a good way to lose a lot of audience members so I won't hold my breath on that one.
Same. I remember when I was a kid I just had some DVDs of season 1 and Flora was kinda my gay (well actually bi but gay) awakening, and I *really* liked that she didn't had a boyfriend in this season, without knowing how to put it in words at the time... And then came season 2 and I remember hating Helia so much for no good reasons except that he took my so-called "wife" from me 😂 But tbh I've been rewatching season 2 recently and like... Musa and Aisha???? Idk I just really felt a connection between the two, and ofc girls can just be friends but they really felt like they could have been together. But yea, like you said, I wouldn't bet on a lesbian relationship in Winx Club, even though it would be great and so much better than this stupid "each girl of the group has found a boy that belongs to their own group" trope (which is one of my most hated tropes ever tbh)
I thought the show W.I.T.C.H. did a good job with the whole relationships thing, I think 3 of the 5 girls did have a love interest but it was never the focus of the episodes. Plus they never did that annoying episode that like every show with girl main characters does, where the girl totally ignores her friends and forgets about what ever plans they had to go hang out with the guy she likes. And by the end she supposedly learns to balance her time better but the next episodes she’s right back to only making time for the guy
I kinda don't want the little animal companions and the ..pixies? Idk I felt like they were there to be cute, but I found them irritated. Also flora and bloom were my favorite, so if they whitewash again I'm going to lose it I'm so tired they were so lazy w that
I did like the pixies as a foil for the girls, but i agree that they were really irritating after a while. i wonder if they could keep the pixies as CHARACTERS, but change their appearance so that they wouldnt make my ears bleed every time they spoke 😂😂
Funnily enough, I've been brainstorming various loose ideas about what I would want in a winx club reboot, and many of your points hit the nail on the head. Namely, an improvement in the worldbuilding, continuity, and making the characters actually feel like characters again who interact and have their own defined senses of style. Racial diversity is obviously important and they should stop white washing Flora and Aisha, but I'd say a greater level of diversity would be nice, too, like bodytypes, gender identity, and sexuality. Some other, more specific things I that would want would admiteddly be on the more drastic side of things, like completely changing the pixies from an independant species to something more akin to fairy familiars (and witches should have their own counterpart familiars for a fun little parallel), or possibly completely redoing the basic world struction and universe origin story to better account for the series' love of random macguffins. Heck, just make the Daphne from the earlier seasons a completely different entity from the season 5/6 Daphne. And no more reviving dead civilizations out of nowhere or other magic ex machina nonsense.
For the setting, I would imagine something similar to San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6 aesthetically. Since the show is already pretty anime-inspired, it would make sense to go the full Tokyo overly-commercial plastic and candy skyscraper urbanism route.
@@finland4ever55 I didn't mean Tokyo specifically rather something similar to it. A Western example would be something like New York City or Las Vegas. I'm aware Musa is Chinese as well.
God I first started watching winx at like 8 years old and I was a HUGE fan. I'm 18 now so I hope that this reboot does the girls justice. I remember I stopped watching at like 10 years old because the 5th season finally came out and aisha was just paired up with a random man while her fiance was in a coma. Like I remember thinking this was such bullshit when in the last season the queen said he could possibly be revived! J thought that they would have an arch or a mini arch trying to find something that would save him! But no, they become mermaids smh
5:27 i just noticed that bloom is wearing shorts now and stella's wearing a skirt. not really into it. stella's shorts in the magic winx transformation actually reflected her kind of mature/feminine side so now this just leaves it to her personality to hopefully make her seem mature and not like the stella we had in season 8
I really enjoyed this, and think it fits perfectly with your channel! I absolutely agree with all your points, but what I think really needs to happen for Winx is for them to take a legit break. It's been in production since 1999 with no stops, Rainbow needs to let it go and then maybe reboot it in 5 or more years with another, more story-focused production team on board. Winx Club has basically just been a fashion doll line with a poorly produced support show since season 5, but it could be amazing if they actually dug into the mythology and kept things consistent.
My only wish for the reboot: Dont let nabu die No whitewashing Let some y2k revival appear Make the trix has some arcs instead of being a punching bag for the winx like every season until season 8 and instead just new villains that the trix cant sidekick trope with them- *cough* *cough* valtor 2x, tritanus, selina, politea, acheron, *cough* *cough* just only lord darkar- i wanna see the trix to do their own thing instead of working with random people that double cross them Make daphne a permanent ghost Fairy forms that makes *sense* Make roxy apart of the winx club When the winx club graduate alfea they should never comeback and reset into 16 *EVER AGAIN.* but instead do some stuff after graduating alfea in different location in any magical realm- and they still kinda might do they're teacher jobs in alfea ig Make background characters have some main plot #alfeabackgroundcharactersandrandomcharactersdeservebetter Etc that everyone can know that i cant list righttt now... but most importantly *RETURN MUSA'S TOMBOY PERSONA AND CHOPPED PIGTAILS RAINBOW!!! AND NO MUSA&RIVEN ISWEARNODIVORCECOUPLETHATFIGHTNOREASONUFU-* and thats it :D cant wait for season9
My wishlist speculations: - whether or not Nex will reappear and if his plotline with Layla/Aisha will continue (I have a feeling the status quo of Layla being single again will jump back in the CGI reboot and her relationship with Nex, which was first established in season 6 might be ignored permanently since not everyone liked that ship) - whether or not it’ll be a continuation of season 8 or it’ll ignore that season (as well as the Nick continuity completely). My prediction is that it’ll be set in a alternate continuity much like World of Winx and Pop Pixie. - Roxy finally appearing in full CGI (be it a brief cameo) - less focus on relationships since they were watered down in later seasons - who will be cut in the new reboot and who will return? - what kind of role will the specialists have? - who will dub the new reboot? 3Beep? Or a new English studio? - it’s likely Rai YoYo will air the new reboot
I never understood why companies always infantilize their brands more and more with time. If you dumb down a show, only little kids will be into it. Whilst if you cater to teens or even preteens while mantaining it family friendly, you can have EVERYONE be into it. Why do companies purposefully tighten the age range of customers by making their products more childish? Don't they want to have as much public as possible? Shouldn't their goal be making something that's just mature enough to be appealing to people of all ages?
Wow, I legit had no idea Winx Club was getting a reboot. I was introduced to Winx Club as a kid via 4KIDS and watching random episodes on Comcast On Demand. I wasn't super huge into the show but still loved it. I was originally very happy that Nickelodeon picked up the series and was airing it. But I really didn't follow the episodes, as I didn't know when they aired and I don't think they were available through On Demand. I always remembered the words to the theme song and loved the fairy fashion. I'm not entirely sure why but Musa has always been my favorite. Maybe it's because I was obsessed with black hair colors as a kid? Or maybe it was because she's a music fairy and I've always loved music. Even though I've never pursued trying to find a way to rewatch the series, I still want to. I was very excited for Fate when I first learned about it but the series was very disappointing. The first thing that confused me was why the Trix were merged into one character named Bellatrix. Like seriously, that's so boring. And also, how the heck are any of these girls friends? They're all extremely rude to each other. The "power of friendship" moment at the end made no sense. I hope this new reboot is good and is available on a streaming platform, since a lot of people don't have cable anymore.
So with you on the relationships! I got so annoyed with how none of the Winx could just be single & happy, and while I know there's probably some cross-cultural stuff stopping it, it's a rule that when enough magical girls are in the same area, at least 2 are gonna wind up dating. Plus, the guys were either one-trait characters or just plain bland.
in the reboot if possible id love to see more of roxy shes such a great character and had so much potential and shes one of my favorites and she was completely robbed in season 7 and could’ve done so much but her character was completely held back from doing anything
This video came at the perfect time! I just rewatched Winx season 1 (I would finish the OG seasons but school started again), but I've been watching a bunch of Winx Club content
I don’t know what I want to see exactly in the reboot, but one thing I would like is to have transformations based on either dragons (since there was that moment in season 6 where Bloom splits her dragon flame into fragments in order to give them to the rest of the winx) or mythical creatures since I think it would be an interesting thing to see. Another thing is maybe give more emphasis on Bloom and her connection/importance with the Dragon Flame because it’s a big part of the story from season 1 to 3, but from season 4 and onwards, I felt like it was slowly taking a back seat to everything (and I felt like some people were just forgetting that Bloom as a very powerful magic). Anyway these are just my opinions but I’m curious how they’re going to tackle this reboot.
Actually this is the 3rd reboot the series had 😅 And also, the first 3 seasons (specially 2 and 3) have actually very good writing and world building, but 4kids ruined that by making the series more stupid and childish, in the og version (the one that is not 4kids) is more serious and even dark.
@@naolucillerandom5280 I was so furious when they “killed“ him. sure the arc Aisha went after his “death“ was well-written buy why? NABU was the BEST BOY.
@Will N That's a way too many words for "I ship Aisha x Musa". Anyways, thanks for reminding me that I have to rewatch Winx Club and find people to ship.
Honestly, I just hope the franchise doesn't go into the kiddie audience and also BRING BACK SOME CHARACTERS WHO DESERVE SCREEN TIME. Eg Roxy, Daphne and all because they need their time to shine, and Roxy is the 7th winx so she needs to b back as well as Daphne LOL
As for the romance. They would give romance drama to relationships that didn't need any Like Flora and Helia can have moments, but to make entire uneeded arcs about it focusing on two characters that always believed conversations matter? Never made sense Poor Aisha is just thrown around with guys after seeing her fiance die Tecna and Timmy always have the same problems Musa and Riven just need to stay separated cuz I just don't see them working out It's funny because in the comics, the Specialists are pretty much their own characters with their own issues. Would have loved to have seen some of the storylines show up in the series
@Will N Nex is another guy the creators forced onto her because heaven forbid the girl properly mourns for Nabu’s death, all because the idea of a Winx girl not having a romance for one season is too much
They should do it about them and Darcy and stormy help Icy save her kingdom, dyamond, and her people from the shaman witch and turn it back to normal to the way it was, and turn her sister, Sapphire, back to normal.
Honestly the only romantic relationships i cared about were Stella/Brandon and Flora/Helia. They really need to focus on fleshing out the girls' friendships cuz i had no idea Flora/Layla and Musa/Tecna were the best friend pairings until i looked it up. If anything i thought Layla and Musa were besties, cuz i remember them having more screentime together (also i ship them)
Tried watching the show again starting at season 7 (cuz Netflix doesn't have the earlier ones and Hulu got rid of Winx Club) and couldn't get through much of the season. I tried sucking it up at how dumbed down it was, but couldn't get over it. Someone in the comments mentioned that they should do what the Shera reboot did and appeal to kids all the way through adults. Shera was a perfect example of making the show entertaining to such a wide range of people and I hope the reboot for Winx can do the same.
The comics are in the teen democratic, I grew up with it I watched the show at 10 and read the comics "illegally" online translated by fans in English and it was some of the best times of my life.
Roxy deserves more transformations of her own, powers only related to her as an Earth fairy, since she isn't included with the Winx. And I hope to see other fairies also succeed and transform and level up their power, even if only in background, but let us know that the Winx are not the only ones to develop but there are also some competitions, show us how hard it is to get this far, this doesn't have to be detailed, only some short scenes or background scenes would suffice. As for Bloom, she is the main protagonist, but she doesn't have to be always the one in the lead. Others also deserve sometimes to have the lead, especially when the mission is related to the girls personally or their worlds. And also, there is something else about Bloom, sometime she acts very selfishly, and I would like to see the other girls bothered of that behaviour, this would add to their presence. Ash Ketchum and Bloom seem to always have companions, people and the univers under their services in their storylines.
If they bring back the sci-fi setting, I hope they still incorporate some of that wacky Y2K aesthetic into it. Like, I'm gonna be disappointed if they don't to the *very* least have blobitecture buildings and tech. 😂
I don’t even know if I really want a reboot… cuz I‘ve seen reboots of other series that were really bad and the original was much better. So, if the reboot will be not good, then I‘d be pretty disappointed because the original 3 seasons (especially the first) are very precious to me. In comparison to other people getting to adore the earlier seasons, I am pretty late… I discovered Winx last year, but I already knew I‘d love this series when I heard the first german Winx intro (I mean „heller als Licht“) for the first time of my life. I was just like „oh my god, this is incredibly good 😭💞“. So for me, I just it to be like season 1. It is as good as perfect. I‘m not a massive fan of blooms bunny because it is kinda weird and a little childish to me in my opinion and I‘m not sure if he‘d be happy with his life if he was a real bunny in reality… 🤔 Oh, and the dolls are important to me. I‘ve got a Bloom doll from 2009 or else i think (I bought it used on Ebay and it was pretty cheap (under 10€) because it was not in the best condition and all the clothes and accessoires were gone and the hair was full of tangles and so on) but I clean her and make her beautiful again and I will make clothes (I will try my best). Until now, it works great and it‘s really worth the money and the time. I like my doll, I think she‘s cute and beautiful, but I don‘t really like most of the other dolls. In my opinion, they don’t look like in the series and many of them don‘t even look that beautiful… 🤔
i want the show to have more queer rep for instants i always got the feeling that flora had a crush on bloom in season one and I really like the idea of Tecna being non-binary because on zenith people find it impractical to have gender stereotypes.
I wish they'd bring back more of the girly stuff like in the earlier seasons, since fate removed and went like 'this is fenimism', but also having some masculine aspects (and keep Musa somewhat of a tomboy) for balance
bloom gets WAY too much screen time. I understand that the show was based around her discovering that she was a fairy but still. That doesn’t mean that you HAVE to shout “winx” followed by the transformation every time.
I really hope that the 9th season/reboot of the show has the same vibe as Miraculous Ladybug. It's already in CGI, so that's a step in the right direction.
I love you Winx Club so much 🥰 Season 1 and 7 are best 💯👍🏻 I have comic magazines and freebies 39 I have Bloom Stella Flora and Layla dolls and Sky doll by Mattel
oh hey we are moots on twitter! i agree with all of this tbh. as for the romance, i see where you're coming from for sure. for me, its fine, but if theyre gonna bring it back (which i believe from what i saw in the straffi interview that they wont?) they have GOT to put more spotlight on other couples. i am so tired of bloom/sky. i get it, bloom is the main character, but her story has been told and completed. i want to see more helia/flora in particular. but thats just me lol. i actually hadnt even seen that group shot of the new season but omg, i am glad to see flora/aisha's skintones done correctly! i'm honestly not too sure how i feel about the art style. because like... if they're going for an older demographic, why go for this art style? but then again you bring up a good point about other cartoons having an art style and themes aimed for kids but also done in a way where adults can enjoy it too. so i hope thats what the winx team is going for! anyway, great video! this was very well-done!!
imo i want winx club to have maybe 2 or more main protags bc that’s kinda how cartoons r now like Monster High and Rainbow High and stuff because I feel bloom has been focused on too much and i’d really like for them to maybe have another character as a protag like maybe stella
When it comes to romance the only couples I want to see are Stella/Brandon and Flora/Helia because Stella and Brandon have the most fun dynamics while Flora and Helia are the most pure. I would like for Bloom and Sky to break up already, they are the only couple to have beef EVERY SEASON, so toxic. Musa and Riven are better off as friends. Aisha needs no man, she is a strong independent woman (plus no-one will ever outdo Nabu), and Tecna should be coded to be asexual. Also would I love to see a gay couple, maybe Riven and someone else as he is quite literally bisexual. As for interesting storyline, would live to see Roxy again as an official member, Daphe needs to come back but stay dead. Diaspro needs a genuine redemption as she was originally a victim of Sky's lies just as much as Bloom, maybe have her realize that she is better than being the jealous ex and have her sacrifice herself to save both Bloom and Sky and have Diaspro earn Enchantix. I would like to see Icy get her backstory from the very beginning of the reboot instead of changing it up. And of course would live to see Enchantix again.
OK but ace Tecna, more Roxy and your ideas for Diaspro ? This is what we need in a Winx Club reboot now. Also I agree for Riven, he and Musa could be good friends but I hate *HATE* their ship dynamics... And I would be more than okay for him to have a gay relationship. Aisha also always seeled pretty fruity in my opinion but maybe it's just me having a crush on her-
I feel like Bloom & Sky's storyline could've been handled a lot better in S1, particularly since they might have had a chance at a genuinely healthy relationship had it not been for the identity swap/Diaspro plot. That could've had some more nuanced development - the potential was there!
@@benita8856 I see your point, I was thinking about the fact thay men are very toxic and Aisha don't need that energy in her life, plus she has that girl boss energy. But thinking about it better, Bloom should be the single lady, and Aisha should end up in a relationship with Musa since their personalities combine well.
The tings I would love to see from the reboot of Winx, one the voice acting stays consistent through out the whole show, also Lisa Ortiz is the only Icy I will accept. The voice actors should be the same race as fairies simply because behind the scenes should mirror what is on screen and vice versa. The white washing has to stop once and for all and that means for every single show through out media. World of Winx looks cute but two things, the white washing and the girls look way too uniform to the point their outfits don't go with their personalities. I feel like Riven and Musa could have better development but Riven needs to develop and grow as a character before he gets into a relationship period. Some characters could be biseuxal *Coughs Musa and Layla/Aisha* In Fate Winx Saga some boys can be Fairies and some girls can be Specialists. I also would love to see how Sourcers, Fairies and Witches magic and what would happen if they converged. I also think Roxy needs to be younger than the main six because I like the idea of them being a mentor. I also hope the Winx would get different body types and body types that suit their personality/life style or something of the sor. Oh and the Winx girls should have super natural powers but my boyfriend came up with the idea. Stella should be able to breath in outer space with out a helmet, Bloom swimming in lava without it hurting her, Flora is immuned from plant poisons Tecna has a photographic memory, Musa has super hearing and Layla/Aisha should be able to swim underwater. The Trix get better transformation outfits simply because their Disenchantix is just them in swimsuits. I also think different elements should be taken from different seasons such as Icy's back story from season 8, Stormy and Darcy also get back stories. Oh and the dolls need a serious upgrade and from some reason they dolls they have out now the outfits don't suit the characters.Oh and Bloom earns her Enchantix the fair way and Dominos stays dead
The romance is easily the worst part of the earlier seasons. Generally when a love interest feels specifically designed to be a love interest to a specific character and nothing else, it already fails. But the particular way that winx club assumes that the girls *must* have a love interest feels extremely… compulsory heterosexuality. Particularly because it feels like they don’t need to actually have an established bond with the guys to be totally infatuated. It’s sort of telling that the most compelling romance in the show is the one that’s primarily negative when there are 5 other romance stories to pick from.
I want like the whole reboot to have you know bloom or sort of get it you know storyline back together because they've just been like throwing in new monsters and it worked for the time it worked but now it just doesn't work the whole thing was Selena and the legendarium that did not fit in but it wasn't exactly you know bad neither was the whole animal thing but I feel like we need like a general story because these guys need to watch the show Ruby replaced the u with a w because Ruby doesn't need to just keep throwing in random villains because they have a villain Salem and she's way powerful to ask a bunch of seasons also can you say we're at volume eight and she isn't dead but she hasn't really done much like one of the last time to try to get the relics
I want to see a real world with real people outside of the 6 girls. Like Roxy had Believix forever even through she helped so much and the winx did literally nothing to get new powers latelly except "feel the vibe" or idk. Daphne was only revived for some hype and married off. What happened to the girl, Musa saved to get her enchantix or that one girl that switched from witch to fairy? Diaspro is getting old too. Allow her to move on and do new drama.
Ngl but tbh, maybe they just dont add the specialists to the reboot? You know, just six girlies going to school having cool adventures. Me & my besties never had bfs & we were doing somewhat good.
I mean a lot of cartoons nowadays go for a story based show so I think that maybe Winx club can go in that direction especially since the whole high demand of plot driven shows
There's two relationships that need to STAY. Bloom+Sky and Aisha+Nabu. If you really want to push it, a better take on Flora+Helia, because the very shy nature of it was super adorable and it's one of my favorite romance stories, even if as a couple they were pretty meh
I couldn’t agree more on the romance thing. The specialists were always just kinda bland imo, I wouldn’t mind seeing them get axed tbh. If they really want to keep them then I hope they get sidelined more and not all of them end up as love interests to the main girls but are rather able to exist as their own characters, and the same goes for the main cast of girls as well.
I just feel like the story line endet after season 4 and the rest was just unnecessary ad ons A reboot could be a look into the future. We have the winx children going to school now. Bloom and sky finally get their marriage after two proposals and back tracks in their relationships and the other canon couples get their happy ever after. Now the children will struggle with living up to peoples expectations of them and living up to the stories people tell about their parents. Or smth like that
man why it’s always the romance a problem for you guys? them having love interest was the 3rd best thing from the show cause if a show doesn’t have drama what’s left to it? and I personally feel no character up till season 4 was pushed to a different love interest when they lost their current one, if season 4 had a good follow up where the winx didnt have to be tern again I believe they would’ve managed a way of making her single..lets not forget she didnt have a partner through season 2 and it was alright..maybe they gaver her a love interest because they thought fans would also like her to have a bf like the other girls..but she and musa literally could’ve even become something since muss and riven broke up one and for good of they knew how to continue the story of the winx without forcing things or rebooting characters i think romance as part of the winx was fine and would be fine, after all the specialist barely appeared and were more of second characters or even extras and they were also teens and it is always understood that teens are in love blah blah, the depth on the winx interactions as friends is the same as them with the specialist HOWEVER the only person’s story we got shoved down our throats is Bloom’s love story and thats why it seems like is more important
While I don't agree with you on several points. I still agree that the show needs alot of fixings. If you don't know, season 9 is set to be aimed at an older audience, like the first four seasons. It was confirmed several months ago. I don't want it to be like Amphibia though. I watched the show and I didn't like it. It was mostly fillers and the characters were dumbed down for some reason. I hope it will be in 2D, I'm really not a fan of 3D. Honestly even if season 8 isn't good ( because of all of inconsistencies and redcon), it was still pretty decent in my opinion. They definitely need to stop whitewashing their characters. I refuse to support them until they don't fix the problem.
When I was younger, I had a Bloom mini-figure and I used it as a “good-luck” charm for the M-STEP in Elementary School and then I accidentally snapped her wing🥲
Also I hope the voice actors from Winx Clubs season 5 can come back because they were great voice actors and the new voice actors they aren't that great
Um I hope they give use backstories for all winx members and trix, heck maybe they can do two seasons with 26 episodes with at first the 5 members then the second half bring aisha, or have her not go to alfea yet in the first half but explore her character more in some episodes, maybe even run into bloom while trying to get her dragon flame back, but yeah I definitely agree that there should be episodes with only a trio or duo, but mix them in with character development, like in episode 1 we learn about how bloom is dealing with her normal life, episode 2 her and stella meet and they go to alfea but we also learn about stella, episode 3 we could learn about tecna musa and flora.
I'm going to have to be honest about about Winx Club season 8 because it's the worst Series since the characters design drawings have change as they looked like Barbie/Bratz dolls. Also the story for Season 8 is a bit off and never made sense like first obscurum team up with Valtor half way in the episodes and then later the Trix have returned as they had team up with Valtor again for the second half of Season 8. But it's not just the episodes it's self but the characters in Winx Club season 8 doesn't make sense. 1. Orion- we only seen him halfway until after episode 13 and never seen Orion again for the rest of the Season 8 like if he's done for good 2. Diaspora- Now I have a lot of issue with Diaspora returning in Season 8. Back in Season 6, Diaspro team up with the Trix after they conqued Eraklyon Institute and was promise to be part of the Trix's team after she succed in taking down Bloom which Diaspro is willing to. However Diaspro suddenly disappeared after the confront with Bloom's sister Daphne and never been seen for the entire Season 6 which doesn't really make sense. But now Diaspro reappeared in season 8 at Eraklyon Palace instead of attending still at Eraklyon Institute. What I've notice that she wasn't punished for what she had done at Domino or her scheme from Season 3 and Season 6 like if these event never exist in the first place. What bothered me is that Diaspro is still after Prince Sky again and this she tricking him to go on her Eracklyon misson but failed and then left at the beginning of episode 19 which doesn't make any sense either. What else doesn't make sense is why hasn't Diaspora transform to her fairy form just like she did back on Season 6 in order to help Sky against the black unicorn 🦄 or during their fake mission. 3. Musa and Riven- They've break up their relationship at the near end of season 6 but in season 8 they got back to together again which doesn't make sense at all in the first place or why Riven return in the series. 4. Roxy, Daphne, Thorne and Bloom's birth parents KIng Oritel and Queen Marion didn't return in Season 8 at all. The worst of all in Winx Club Season 8 which I felt is unfinished is the abandon story of Icy's kingdom and her sister sapphire still curse as a white fox by the Shamon Witch. I just felt this is wrong and I'm hoping that the upcoming Winx Club Season 9 will continue were Season 8 left off.
This might come a little late, but guys, this video isn't about the live action Fate. Fate was not a reboot. It was an adaptation. This is about Season 9, which is confirmed to be a reboot of the animated series- though whether it's a hard or soft reboot isn't known yet.
What! Really?! It will be a reboot! I didn't know!
I call that "fake" because this is not really the Winx Club I knew
If i was going to reboot the series I'd change the cast and character design. The main six are
Bloom-Same
Stella-Same
Layla-Same
Brandon- hispanic/ latino with black hair.
Riven-Same but Asian
Helia- black and white and Native American.
Id keep
Magic winx
Charmix
Enchantix
Believix
Nature transformation
Sirenix but with Harmonix design but sirenix wings.
The powers are
Bloom fairy of the dragon flame
Stella fairy of sun and moon
Layla fairy of water
Brandon fairy of technology
Riven fairy of Music
Helia fairy of natute
Fairy colour.
Bloom-Blue
Stella- orange
Layla-pink
Brandon- Green
Riven-Red
Helia-Purple.
Pixies but new
Selkies but new

If they could get the rights again, Winx could be a massive comeback for Mattel.
YES
i agree but why would stella have flowers, i think she’d have stars or even sun and moon, flora would have flowers
@@hailz217 i think they meant Flora as they mentioned Stella in the sentence before.
you had me until u said cottagecore
I genuinely hope they won't make the franchise go towards the childish direction, even though Winx club was a cartoon for kids the audience was a bit older and could already understand the "mature" plot points, they also need to have better character design than they had in the later seasons bc to be honest the fashion was probably the reason half the audience watched the show lol.
And I hope you'll feel better soon! 💖💖💖
they already went for the “childish“ direction when they started working with Nick and it has hurt the franchise ever since.
no wonder they went for a “reboot“.
The show initially somewhat grew up with its audience but still stayed child friendly.
There’s the live-action version which is darker.
I’d recommend it, it’s cooler.
@@biancamariavalenti8050 the live action version is kind of a mess and it wasn't very well-received by the original fans :/
@@MsSumoon The Cosmix song is still THAT bop though
I hope they maintain a preteen to early teen audience, that way everyone can enjoy it! Like the newer seasons felt so dumbed down :( I also hope they create more diverse characters and stop whitewashing Flora and Aisha!
Musa too
@@strudel_reviews ?? She’s always had a light skin tone.
@@asxtro7145 they made her eyes more round
@@asxtro7145 Musa’s race changed too. In the earlier seasons she was Chinese, wearing Chinese inspired outfits…. In season 8 she could’ve easily passed as white lol
@@woah9234 Your outfits do not determine your ethnicity. She’s always had light skin and in season 8 her eyes are slightly different from the rest of the girls. While their art style now doesn’t help a character look Asian, I don’t believe she’s gotten white washed if she’s had light skin to begin with.
Personally for me, I want to see more of Roxy in the reboot, especially her getting new transformations like Enchantix.
Si eso es verdad amo a roxy espero también que no cambien sus hermosos ojo como también su cabello y espero que le cambie la ropa de roxy por que ya es hora que roxy tenga sus ropa siempre las winx se cambie y ella no 😔
i agree 100%
I agree, but she is already Believix, and someone commented me that she only have one transformation so she doesn't need the other fairy forms such as Enchantix or etc. but I still agree with you and I wished roxy is a seventh member of Winx like Aisha/layla in S2
Fr. Roxy should have gained enchantix in the 7 th season . The last two seasons were a stain on the name
Same
i feel like anytime a series does the shift in age demographic the series goes downhill a bit.
Nobody watches tv after Teenage years?
Cough cough *TOTAL DRAMA* cough cough
@@rorysvillage5769 oof
i don't mind having the romantic relationships with the specialists but they don't need to be the only reason the specialists exist in the plot. and instead of every relationship being perfect, they could discuss some different types of romantic relationships. the original series did that rather well, but i'd love to see it go even deeper than it did. like with bloom and sky, make them talk about their differences even more and have them grow, and how about tecna and timmy having difficulties when it comes to showing physical affection and so on? and how about you don't kill nabu, the only non-white man in the specialist group. and how about just completely erasing riven from existing (or just even rewriting him.. he can still be edgy and mean-spirited but please don't make him as toxic and unlikable).
I mean Timmy was sweet. He was honestly my favorite.
honstly the only guy i remember was sky, i rember some of the outher guys but dont remeber there names, i also remeber ieasha boyfriend or what ever dieing.
They should do the opposite then because that shows they haven’t really focused on the guys to begin with.
Nabu was the most notable one.
@@Weather-more I agree. They killed the man for no reason and I'm still salty about it.
Yes, because everyone except for Rivusa are "soo realistic"... 😂
The only thing I didnt like about their relationships were the fights, unrealistic, solved with bland apologies and showed no character development, especially for stella and brandon :/
I thought Aisha and Nabu were pretty great together
Things I want to see:
-more adventures between two or three of the Winx separately, especially the ones who don't share dorms
-more worldbuilding, visiting different planets and enriching their cultures and traditions
-more individualised clothing (Bloom - the girl next door, Stella - bold fashionista, Flora - cottagecore, Musa - punk tomboy, Tecna - idk, her clothing style is pretty unique, Aisha - lots of sportswear and cargo print)
-them changing the style of Roxy's first form and giving her Charmix (and maybe Enchantix)
-the original pixies (Bloom and Lockette, Stella and Amore, Flora and Chatta, Musa and *Tune*, Tecna and *Digit*, Aisha and Piff, and also Roxy bonding with Zing, the pixie of arthropods)
-exploring more of the school (if they're going back to school)
-still plot focused but also with more character-focused stories as well, they can do a lot with 50 episodes
-better spells and incantations (no generic energy beams or generic coloured shields)
-If they're not going back to school, give them different professions (Bloom stays a teacher, Stella as a boutique owner and fashion designer, Flora as a botanist and owning a bakery, Musa as a famous musician and songwriter, Tecna as a video game developer, Aisha as a teacher to Andros children on how to use water magic and being the Princess of Andros)
Things I DON'T want to see:
-every Winx member having a boyfriend
-insufferable childish jokes
-useless McGuffins
-whitewashing in any form
-Musa being feminine
-the girls getting no character development
-CARA AND CHERIE DON'T DESERVE TO REPLACE THE AMAZINGNESS OF DIGIT AND TUNE HOW DARE YOU PLEASE STOP EXISITING RIGHT NOW!!!!!!
-them being at Alfea every single episode
-no continuity
-reusing villains
-a generic uniform transformation with a cringe transformation sequence (looking at you, Butterflix!)
Romance ❤:
-Flora and Helia
-Musa and Aisha
-Bloom and Tecna being legitimately happy single
-Stella constantly looking for someone to love, but she always has crushes on the people already in relationships
-Bloom and Tecna convincing Stella to be happy single and not to rush into a relationship
-the relationships being healthy and mutually supportive ones
I literally agree with you 100% in everything in your comment
The writers really lost their motivation for the series in my opinion
I hope they go back to the really specific personal outfits in the transformations. I loved that Tecna had a very technological vibe in her clothes, just like Flora was very flower-girly.
Also, the relationship thingy was absolutely fine with me, but why did Aisha's-Layla's boyfriend had to die? Also her storyarc always had to be the most dark for some reason. Like how she had to become blind in order to get her enchantix. That was like really unnecessary. Especially when you see the other girls didn't had to go through such a dark fase.
@Will N wow, I never thought of it like that
Oh, yeah, other girls didn't have to go through such a dark faze - Stella died, Flora drowned, Musa almost burnt in fire, Tecna got trapped inside the Omega dimension, but all these things are not as bad as being blind *sarcasm*
Of course Layla has got a darker story ark, but saying that she sacrificed more than the other girls to get her Enchantix - are you serous?
Its almost similar in real life where certain countries have specific beliefs/cultures that its citizens always live by or adapted into their way of living regardless of which new environment they transfer to
@Josh Richards o
I hope you feel better soon.
EDIT: Was anyone else disappointed when they decided to give Icy a tragic backstory so she was less evil/not really bad? Why couldn't she be evil for evil's sake? Not everyone is a good person.
I hated it because
1)It came out of nowhere
2)It had the potential to be interesting and show more of a connection between her and Bloom. Both survivors who lost their planets. But they didn't do anything with it
3)Randomly makes an Indigenous coded woman be the one to curse Icy's planet.
In fact, I was happy to see that they gave icy a backstory to show us the reason for her behavior, I hope they will focus on giving her a redemption arc, not every villain should stay as the villain for so many seasons in a show
Though I agree with y'all who say that it came randomly at the end of the season
@@maryamsalah135 I agree not every villain should stay a villain, but Icy (and Darcy and Stormy) are among those whom I do want to stay wicked.
In the reboot , I hope that they make us hear the other characters backstories because in the later seasons, bloom had way too much screen time
As an italian person, Winx Club always had (and always will have) a very special place in my heart, and I'm proud to see it being well known also outside Italy. Flora now is basically white and if it wasn't for her brown hair I wouldn't be able to tell if it's Flora or Bloom, Musa doesn't look asian anymore and Aisha is the biggest offender; she was such a good representation for little black girls, and now she looks like she's just a little tanned😔
Really hope the reboot won't be "omg look at us we are so EdGy" as Fate, but will still try to do justice to the earlier seasons.
Imo, Layla should've gotten time to grieve and maybe have the series show how she deals with her difficulty to come to terms with Nabu's passing; for example in Jane the Virgin after she lost Michael she had a hard time jumping back into the dating world and I feel like they should've done that with Layla, maybe she'll find another guy to be with but in reality not all those who lose their lovers date again and usually decide to be single, I hope they decide to discover this storyline because she deserved so much more🥺
As an Italian Winx Club is a pillar of my childhood
These days I'm rewatching the first season
I like the idea of a reboot, much better than another useless season
BUT honestly I would like another kind of reboot
A male reboot, starring a group of male fairies, with different ethnicities, body sizes and LGBT characters
Because I have always found it sexist that the fairy school only had female students, and the specialist school only had male students
In the reboot I would like to see that the school of Alfea is open to everyone
I want to see the male fairies show their wings
It would be a great way to break down certain stereotypes ( fairies are only female ...) and toxic masculinity
@Will N 😲😲😲
(though not sure how it'd work with short episodes)
wishing you a speedy recovery, thank you for sharing this treat from the vault! :)
if the girls dont have the BEST fits we riot
I want them to bring back Roxy and fully integrated her into the group with new transformations
And then came season 2 and I remember hating Helia so much for no good reasons except that he took my so-called "wife" from me 😂
But tbh I've been rewatching season 2 recently and like... Musa and Aisha???? Idk I just really felt a connection between the two, and ofc girls can just be friends but they really felt like they could have been together.
But yea, like you said, I wouldn't bet on a lesbian relationship in Winx Club, even though it would be great and so much better than this stupid "each girl of the group has found a boy that belongs to their own group" trope (which is one of my most hated tropes ever tbh)
are u lesbian?
wait why did i just ask that?
@@alicepark972 ?
I thought the show W.I.T.C.H. did a good job with the whole relationships thing, I think 3 of the 5 girls did have a love interest but it was never the focus of the episodes. Plus they never did that annoying episode that like every show with girl main characters does, where the girl totally ignores her friends and forgets about what ever plans they had to go hang out with the guy she likes. And by the end she supposedly learns to balance her time better but the next episodes she’s right back to only making time for the guy
10:42 don't forget we actually did have wizards in the original (nabu, valtor & saladin), we just didn't get to see too many of them
I kinda don't want the little animal companions and the ..pixies? Idk I felt like they were there to be cute, but I found them irritated. Also flora and bloom were my favorite, so if they whitewash again I'm going to lose it I'm so tired they were so lazy w that
I did like the pixies as a foil for the girls, but i agree that they were really irritating after a while. i wonder if they could keep the pixies as CHARACTERS, but change their appearance so that they wouldnt make my ears bleed every time they spoke 😂😂
@@aliciaguajardo7423 omg yes, like I could be fine if they were there for an episode or so but they're squeaky voices were grating after a while.
I guess but the characters are italians and musa is chinese not japanese so.....
I think taking a break would give it a breath of fresh air when it's picked up again.
My only wish for the reboot:
Dont let nabu die
No whitewashing
Let some y2k revival appear
Make the trix has some arcs instead of being a punching bag for the winx like every season until season 8 and instead just new villains that the trix cant sidekick trope with them- *cough* *cough* valtor 2x, tritanus, selina, politea, acheron, *cough* *cough* just only lord darkar- i wanna see the trix to do their own thing instead of working with random people that double cross them
Make daphne a permanent ghost
Fairy forms that makes *sense*
Make roxy apart of the winx club
When the winx club graduate alfea they should never comeback and reset into 16 *EVER AGAIN.* but instead do some stuff after graduating alfea in different location in any magical realm- and they still kinda might do they're teacher jobs in alfea ig
Make background characters have some main plot #alfeabackgroundcharactersandrandomcharactersdeservebetter
Etc that everyone can know that i cant list righttt now... but most importantly
*RETURN MUSA'S TOMBOY PERSONA AND CHOPPED PIGTAILS RAINBOW!!! AND NO MUSA&RIVEN ISWEARNODIVORCECOUPLETHATFIGHTNOREASONUFU-*
and thats it :D cant wait for season9
3:37 Usually I'm pretty forgiving in these kinds of stuff but Flora still looks white in the fixed version?? She just kinda looks like a Bloom twin :(
My wishlist speculations:
- whether or not Nex will reappear and if his plotline with Layla/Aisha will continue (I have a feeling the status quo of Layla being single again will jump back in the CGI reboot and her relationship with Nex, which was first established in season 6 might be ignored permanently since not everyone liked that ship)
- whether or not it’ll be a continuation of season 8 or it’ll ignore that season (as well as the Nick continuity completely). My prediction is that it’ll be set in a alternate continuity much like World of Winx and Pop Pixie.
- Roxy finally appearing in full CGI (be it a brief cameo)
- less focus on relationships since they were watered down in later seasons
- who will be cut in the new reboot and who will return?
They missed an opportunity to just name her Trixie, and I'm a bit salty
I found winx club season 1-2 on Netflix
@@ihavenoideawhatimdoing4 are you absolutely sure it wasn't World of Winx?
@@ihavenoideawhatimdoing4 there is only season 6 and Season 7 ?
Guys I meant there used to be Season 1 and 2 like 6 years ago
So with you on the relationships! I got so annoyed with how none of the Winx could just be single & happy, and while I know there's probably some cross-cultural stuff stopping it, it's a rule that when enough magical girls are in the same area, at least 2 are gonna wind up dating. Plus, the guys were either one-trait characters or just plain bland.
Nabu was so mature. I would love for him to come back to life.
in the reboot if possible id love to see more of roxy shes such a great character and had so much potential and shes one of my favorites and she was completely robbed in season 7 and could’ve done so much but her character was completely held back from doing anything
Actually this is the 3rd reboot the series had 😅 And also, the first 3 seasons (specially 2 and 3) have actually very good writing and world building, but 4kids ruined that by making the series more stupid and childish, in the og version (the one that is not 4kids) is more serious and even dark.
exactly-
I hope they don't whitewash the POC characters like Flora and Aisha/Layla.
and bring NABU back and don't kill him.
Yeah, don't get rid of the only wizard :(
@@naolucillerandom5280 I was so furious when they “killed“ him.
sure the arc Aisha went after his “death“ was well-written buy why?
NABU was the BEST BOY.
I wanna bring him back but at the same time not cause it will ruin aishas development
I just wish Roxy could get a proper final goodbye if Rainbow doesn’t want her anymore to exist. She deserved better than what she got.
A game series that reminds me a lot of a “grown up” version of winx is dreamfall: the longest journey. It’d be a pretty cool direction for them to go
feel better soon !! dont push yourself to post videos if u feel like u cant!
As for the romance. They would give romance drama to relationships that didn't need any
Like Flora and Helia can have moments, but to make entire uneeded arcs about it focusing on two characters that always believed conversations matter? Never made sense
Poor Aisha is just thrown around with guys after seeing her fiance die
Tecna and Timmy always have the same problems
Musa and Riven just need to stay separated cuz I just don't see them working out
It's funny because in the comics, the Specialists are pretty much their own characters with their own issues. Would have loved to have seen some of the storylines show up in the series
@Will N
Nex is another guy the creators forced onto her because heaven forbid the girl properly mourns for Nabu’s death, all because the idea of a Winx girl not having a romance for one season is too much
@Will N
I’m not reading all of that. Just chill, it’s a cartoon
@Will N
Happy for you, or sorry for you. Whichever is more appropriate
I had the techna Mattel doll as a kid and i remember absolutely adoring it
They should do it about them and Darcy and stormy help Icy save her kingdom, dyamond, and her people from the shaman witch and turn it back to normal to the way it was, and turn her sister, Sapphire, back to normal.
Is it really that hard to consistently keep the characters skin tone? Like the fact that is always changes comes off as lazy
We need atleest to see Roxy with a new outfit and a new transformation :((
If they bring back the sci-fi setting, I hope they still incorporate some of that wacky Y2K aesthetic into it.
I‘m not a massive fan of blooms bunny because it is kinda weird and a little childish to me in my opinion and I‘m not sure if he‘d be happy with his life if he was a real bunny in reality… 🤔
Oh, and the dolls are important to me.
I'm so sorry to hear about your health, sending much love and good wishes
bloom gets WAY too much screen time. I understand that the show was based around her discovering that she was a fairy but still. That doesn’t mean that you HAVE to shout “winx” followed by the transformation every time.
Roxy must be 7 Winx in the reboot
I really hope that the 9th season/reboot of the show has the same vibe as Miraculous Ladybug. It's already in CGI, so that's a step in the right direction.
I need to see Roxy get Enchantix and be member of the Winx
I love you Winx Club so much 🥰
Season 1 and 7 are best 💯👍🏻
I have comic magazines and freebies 39
I have Bloom Stella Flora and Layla dolls and Sky doll by Mattel
I’m totally here for the non doll related content!! More please 😁
Can I just say- get well soon. I’m surprised no one has mentioned how sick you are, and I hope you feel better.
Thank you! I've gotten a few well wishes here and there. And I am feeling much better! It's just been a lot of work catching back up on everything 😅
@@DarlingDollz You caught the 19, didn't you?
oh hey we are moots on twitter!
i agree with all of this tbh. as for the romance, i see where you're coming from for sure. for me, its fine, but if theyre gonna bring it back (which i believe from what i saw in the straffi interview that they wont?) they have GOT to put more spotlight on other couples. i am so tired of bloom/sky. i get it, bloom is the main character, but her story has been told and completed. i want to see more helia/flora in particular. but thats just me lol.
i actually hadnt even seen that group shot of the new season but omg, i am glad to see flora/aisha's skintones done correctly! i'm honestly not too sure how i feel about the art style. because like... if they're going for an older demographic, why go for this art style? but then again you bring up a good point about other cartoons having an art style and themes aimed for kids but also done in a way where adults can enjoy it too. so i hope thats what the winx team is going for!
anyway, great video! this was very well-done!!
imo i want winx club to have maybe 2 or more main protags bc that’s kinda how cartoons r now like Monster High and Rainbow High and stuff because I feel bloom has been focused on too much and i’d really like for them to maybe have another character as a protag like maybe stella
I would love to see tecna as an asexual Icon
I agree with this except for layla. That whole independent chick thing is so played out for black female characters I'm so tired of it.
Recently it was confirmed that this is not a reboot
I hope they go back to the season 1-4 format
The only reason I'll want romance im the reboot is if they bring back Nabu. Everyone else can be single for all i care
Kids notice when shows are being dumbed down. I certainly noticed when it happened and I hated it.
I mean a lot of cartoons nowadays go for a story based show so I think that maybe Winx club can go in that direction especially since the whole high demand of plot driven shows
Petition for Mattel to make winx dolls again-
actually male fairies are in the series as background characters
Once upon a time I decided to try and Benj every single season, and I couldn’t even finish season seven
I kinda think if they wanna focus on fight scenes they should put in a little combat fighting and some spells
I think the art is basiclly the things that idk make Winx Flop so They should reboot the art to be like for adult + Children like season 1 to 5
Everything went downhill after season four but season five is at least watchable
There's two relationships that need to STAY. Bloom+Sky and Aisha+Nabu. If you really want to push it, a better take on Flora+Helia, because the very shy nature of it was super adorable and it's one of my favorite romance stories, even if as a couple they were pretty meh
Best relationships, Layla/Aisha& Nabu, Stella & Brandon, Tecna & Timmy, Bloom & Sky (Just boring) Helia and Flora Riven and Musa
@@karleecraziness9216 that's just all of them...
@@lightdreamer_ My bad I was ranking best to worst. My apologies for not making that clear
After Believix things went down hill even though Sirenix had SO MUCH potential
Feel better soon!
I agree with all your points. I would love more action scenes especially!
I'll catch this video when it's not 1 AM slkdfhlsdk but i wanted to say get some rest and I hope you feel better soon! Thank you for your videos
Wee need Roxy must be Seventh winx
I just feel like the story line endet after season 4 and the rest was just unnecessary ad ons
A reboot could be a look into the future. We have the winx children going to school now. Bloom and sky finally get their marriage after two proposals and back tracks in their relationships and the other canon couples get their happy ever after. Now the children will struggle with living up to peoples expectations of them and living up to the stories people tell about their parents. Or smth like that
man why it’s always the romance a problem for you guys? them having love interest was the 3rd best thing from the show cause if a show doesn’t have drama what’s left to it? and I personally feel
no character up till season 4 was pushed to a different love interest when they lost their current one, if season 4 had a good follow up where the winx didnt have to be tern again I believe they would’ve managed a way of making her single..lets not forget she didnt have a partner through season 2 and it was alright..maybe they gaver her a love interest because they thought fans would also like her to have a bf like the other girls..but she and musa literally could’ve even become something since muss and riven broke up one and for good of they knew how to continue the story of the winx without forcing things or rebooting characters i think romance as part of the winx was fine and would be fine, after all the specialist barely appeared and were more of second characters or even extras and they were also teens and it is always understood that teens are in love blah blah, the depth on the winx interactions as friends is the same as them with the specialist HOWEVER the only person’s story we got shoved down our throats is Bloom’s love story and thats why it seems like is more important
What I want from a Winx Club reboot is a Regal Academy reboot. I thought that was a lot more fun.
With "for kids" there has to be a distinction, you cant put 3-8 and 9-15 together
those 2 kids are very different types of kids
I'm going to have to be honest about about Winx Club season 8 because it's the worst Series since the characters design drawings have change as they looked like Barbie/Bratz dolls. Also the story for Season 8 is a bit off and never made sense like first obscurum team up with Valtor half way in the episodes and then later the Trix have returned as they had team up with Valtor again for the second half of Season 8.
But it's not just the episodes it's self but the characters in Winx Club season 8 doesn't make sense.
1. Orion- we only seen him halfway until after episode 13 and never seen Orion again for the rest of the Season 8 like if he's done for good
What I never understood is why Roxy never get butterflix. She was there when everyone else got it so why didn’t she?
just let roxy join winx and it would be complete
