The lyrics are slightly wrong. They should actually be:
"I might break and bend to my basic need to be loved and close to somebody."

The problem is that we all feel like we are the only ones who have either felt like this or gone through something like this. The actual truth is that lots of us have! You'd have to be extremely lucky to go through life without ever having had your heart broken or getting involved with the wrong person.

Thank you. Yea that does happen to everyone. It's the part where you self reflect in the morning when you're waking up, realizing you hate the person you've become while you're with said person. And you feel trapped. And you know the exact moment in time when you decided to pursue this relationship knowing full well that this feeling of hopelessness was going to happen. Daily. That experience and emotion is what I think is crazy to relate to, to the T.

I think one of the most beautiful things about this band is, they allow men to express and consider feelings they typically aren't given the space to express or consider.

This is that story. From the EP's, combining the lore into the relationship. Through to the end. Ive cried, I learned to grieve to this music, and find hope. The room below concert, there's a message he puts out to the audience that addresses this.
I think this music connects with people who have gone through it and sit alone with the pain. His music helps you feel the emotions and come to terms with your own while listening to him work through his. It's not being alone. I think that's why we all like to watch others find Sleep Token. You're not alone, we're all here too.

Yes, many of us have gone through some shit that we never knew how to express but Vessel nails it perfectly! Don't worry about crying while listening.... there's usually a song that digs in and sinks its teeth into you 😂. See what I did there??!!😂 Sleep Token s music is healing in so many ways. Yes, the trilogy of albums tell one long story. It's sometimes gut wrenching and euphoric in others.....Yes, Vessel has gone through some shit, and is genius how he can make metaphorical entries in his music that can evoke such emotions. Just follow the journey and hopefully you'll be like so many of us that finds what we need in their music.

Haha I didn't quite cry.. I teared up a bit lol. It's just crazy that this shit he went through is almost identical on so many levels to my personal experience. Weird finding this music right now.

Vessel openly cries while performing. It's personal stuff every time, and he lets you know he feels it.
There seems to be one song that eventually sneaks in past the walls and gets to you. I think that's what's so special about his writing- he distills a particular thing we've felt or been through into such a way we can sit with it for a minute. Maybe to feel, or heal.❤

Something about Sleep Token's music really speaks to trauma and repressed aspects of ourselves, in my opinion. Their music has been integral to our trauma processing journey.

This one hits me real hard, it was said in a previous video but it’s like it’s an amazing realization that you arnt alone in having those experiences and that it’s ok to hurt and grieve. It’s like they open you up and make you feel comfortable with being vulnerable so that you can heal.

After a decade-long relationship ended, I hated myself every day. It was hard to keep living. I was physically sick with grief, I lost 16 pounds in two weeks because I couldn't eat. My brain was changed forever. I didn't know who I was. Some days, I still find myself wondering if I'm deserving of good things or searching for a shred of self worth. I hope to find it again 🙏🏻✨️
That is so similar to what happened with me. 10 years.. I'm at about a year and a half out of it and finally getting back to normal. I hope anyway. You'll get there!!

Loved your reaction to the video bud. Ended up writing it with the band. Basically a person who was a good friend to me ended our relationship and friendship because she hung out with someone who had been a “friend” to her and she really ended up screwing me over. In simplest terms it’s about being in a state of not knowing who you are after a relationship ends that I was so connected to.

Something that I've learned some time ago is not to analyze what I'm feeling but to just feel it. We dissect everything and think through our feelings but that's helpful. Idk...just what I learned.

idk....I appreciate Vessel's honesty and how he treats certain topics. He is very vulnerable and authentic. No wonder that makes you cry. It's going to get a lot more sad. The whole album “This Place Will Become Your Tom” is what I like the call “the depression album” so....
It's the line “tear my arms off” that gets to me btw.

idk if you ever looked at concert photos of Vessel (probably not becaue you are new to this)?! I have a fan tumblr and I have looked at many photos/ videos over the years. He paints his arms black but depending on how the light shines on them or when the paint starts to come of because it's warm, they reveal certain things.
He has a lot of self-harm scars on both of his arms.
When he sings about tearing his arms of, I assume he means exactly that.
I struggled with that myself btw. And other things (was diagnosed with BPD a long time ago) but I'm fine these days.
The weird thing about this topic is that many fans relate to it in a sense that they have struggled in that way, too. But there are also fans who hate you for point this even out. What I decided to do about this some time ago was just be honest about it and share my past struggle but I also write about how it got better for me.
I figured that the only way to end the stigma when it comes to mental illness is by opening up about my own struggles. I used to pretend that this part of me did not even exist but it's actually Sleep Token's music that inspired me to be more authentic.

I feel ya. 100% drop walls of text anytime. I listened to this song again right after this video and recorded it. It's about 15 minutes really talking about what this song did for me immediately, but I'm not fully ready to just drop all of that on RUclips just yet so I cut those couple pieces and added them to the beginning and end of this video. Once I figure this RUclips thing out I'll find some other avenue of posting videos like that. I also have a bunch of videos where I just straight up roast the song/MV because they are humorously bad, but don't want to post them here either lol. But yea, that song fucking slaps! I've been listening to it all day today, and each time it lifts me higher above the relationship I was in for 10 years. I'm just now fully healing from that, so having this song remind me that I did indeed escape alive is just perfect for me right now timing wise honestly. I'm blown away typing this even

Sleep Token is an emotional journey! I think you have the jist of it, but there are many twists and turns. I’m a year in and still making connections between songs. I’m a woman but I got a strong dose of “western pioneer stoicism” so I can compartmentalize my emotions far too well. This music has helped a lot with my emotional inventory and some umpacking.
I feel that. For me so far they have been answering questions I had written off and accepted as having no answers to. But I needed them and hadn't realized it yet.
This track is one of my faves. So much so, I associate the color purple with this song now when I see the color. Very cathartic. This album is incredible! Bring on Higher! I can't wait to see you react to Give on this album and The Love You Want on TPWBYT. Also my faves similar to this vibe. No rush though. I'll sub to go on the ride yet again. Thank you for this. I appreciate your genuine reaction. This song is heavy. It’s one of my favorites; in my top 5. It breaks me, and heals me at the same time. They get very deep. They draw you in, and expose the most vulnerable parts of you. But their music is healing. You’ll understand as you keep listening. We aren’t as alone as we think we are. It’s gonna be a roller coaster of a ride, but I’m so here for it. They are special.
