Just as with Take 5 I wish the design team had been allowed to do this as a desktop instead with a few more features at or near the same price. Respond to MPE, bi-timbral, modern LFOs (fade in/out, phase, "N" shot), 4 quadrant multiplier/voice with mix from it to filter, replace the standard NOT good digital effects Sequential slap on for $10 their cost with an analog short BBD for chorus/flange plus a long one for delays. Even as desktop that might have kicked up the price a wee bit, but it (and Take 5 ) would have then been mindblowing instead of just really good. The suits would never allow it because both already step on sales from the 6 voice cash cows too much.
It sounds great to me, also the take 5 is a solid product. Id pay 1799 if they had included all the filters like the Pro-3.
They should do a 61 key with all three filters.
The 10 bass stations threw me off 😆

Not to be an hater but is it really an oberheim? From what I heard the only thing that’s oberheim is the sem filter and everything else is sequential including the voices.
Can you describe what characteristics the oscillators, vca, and lfo an OB have?
Don't forget the front panel design, the blue lines... that is very Oberheim!

Who cares if it’s 80% sequential. It’s called evolution. Buy if you like, don’t buy if you think it’s something else. 🍻
@@clarencejeyofficial dude lol give me a break. Who cares? I do and im sure other people do too. If the only thing in the synth thats an actual Oberheim is the filter then is it really an Oberheim or a Sequential TAKE 5 synth with a new paint job? No it's not evolution, it's called cutting corners and false marketing.
@@BaltimoreReese then don’t buy it and find a better option? Isn’t that the most logical option for a surprise synth? I understand if it was marketed for 10 years as something that’s coming up but this was a surprise release and if you genuinely feel it’s ‘false’ then pretend it wasn’t released and move on :)
