I love the fact that Eugene disappears into a bright light rather than giving the impression that he’ll end up in the darkness like Suzie 😁
Most underrated Torchwood episode.
Me and my girlfriend watched this one the other night. Blimey... it was emotional 😞
My least favourite lol
I cried when Eugene left.
Yes
Just watched it and I'm not ashamed to say that I bawled my eyes out. Beautiful ending.
This is why we're taught to look both ways children
Putting the Science back into Science Fiction- 1:59 "In an average lifetime, the human heart will beat 2 million times" . More like 2 billion, 2 million heart beats will last you a little over a month.
An interesting fact is that most species average very roughly a billion heart beats in a lifetime. If their hearts beat faster (e.g. small birds), they live shorter lives. If their hearts beat slowly (e.g. whales), they live longer.
This was a brilliant episode as let's face it, it's life we can all relate too
I've always loved the music in this part and was really sad it was never released on the soundtrack for the series. It's really moving!
Ikr
This is one of my favourites but I still wished they showed Eugene in at least one or two earlier episodes even if he didn't have lines and was in the background instead of that flashback montage, might've added a bit more impact.
Like how in Doctor Who series 4 they had the Armos stickers on the back of the cars, prior to the episode with the Sontarans
This is a great scene but I'm a bit sad you cut off the ending 😥
scary enough, Eugene is converted into a cyberman in dark water...
@dr103 it could be possible that inbetween season 2 and 3, jack went into the chamber and collected Owens remains (probably radioactive goo of some sort) and had that buried.
Yeah that always chills me, what a great story dark water and death in heaven were.
Amy and Rory :'(
Ewwwww
I was surprised to find out that this episode was quite divisive, i really liked this episode.
It's quite an out there episode that doesn't fit even the Torchwood format and has some similarities to the much hated Love and Monsters with an outside perspective of a "fan" of the group. It also features a lot of narration which some people find outputting. And the story doesn't have world ending stakes or one of the main characters in danger so it relies on you relating to this brand new character and caring about his life.
That being said, I am on the camp that loves this episode. I love that it is an episode about an ordinary person looking back over their life and trying to make sense what their life was worth. It is a bittersweet story. You see how people like his father let him down, and how he was always dismissed.
But then, in juxtaposition you see that same life being honoured. You see Gwen, his idol, growing to respect and care about Eugene and his life. You see that even though his life was far from perfect and he was an outsider, his life wasn't worthless. His mother loved him. His death brought the family back together. And in the end Eugene wasn't filled with regret and sadness. He found peace and love and beauty in the life he led. And I loved that.
@@TheTardisDreamer Plus it's pretty much Eugene's fault that Gwen is even there in the first place and almost gets killed, so there's that.
Countrycide is one of the best episodes ever
Same :)
one of my favourite episodes ever
God this makes me want to weep! Eugene really did deserve better ❤️
I hope they didn't retcon the wake after this. Its a harmless memory and closure for many of them
I love this episode, so beautiful
probably my most watched torchwood clip
Who else feels like this episode was a callback to the movie Ghost
why they cut the ending it was the best bit 🤦♂️
He then went to the darkness to claw at the others and run from DEATH. The end.
Eugene's hair kind of reminds me of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory.
Yes! 😂
Gwen's first name is Pen.
Behold the eye of horus, I have a story that needs to be told
Best episode ever
Its it weird that I only count the first three season cannon but i guess its is because I haven't listen too the big finish storys yet.
I'm from your future
DALEK CAAN the question is who spelt the name correctly
With this official channel I feel the need to rewatch Torchwood. 3 seasons. Mmmhmmm. Nothing more. Yup.
Rukmani Sindhu Thangam season 4 is good too. But Children of Earth is the best
@@oliverbull-lifely9110 I suspect many people (including me) are not fond of miracle day.
What episode/episode is this from?
Mimi Adams read the title...
Since Sam Ashton wants to be a dick, it's Random Shoes.
Random shoes episode 9 of season 1
Pay attention at the back, lol.
This episode was painfully bad
Worst episode of torchwood ever
I don't know I personally enjoyed it, an emotional character focus without need of special effects. The worst to me would be the cannibal episode.
Agreed
Ward Junior I personally really liked it, my work episode is the duckling fairy one in season 1
That gaming Bobcat guy yeah that one is bad. Doesn’t help it’s got that awful cgi scene in the garden
Ward Junior for me this is one of the best. It’s unique, unpredictable, relatable and emotional. Possibly even my favourite episode. But hey I respect your opinion
