My band teacher talked to us about being able to be a color guard for the Southport Middle School and Southport High School team. I thought that I would want to do it so I looked up what it was. It looks really awesome.
My school got rid of riffles because someone busted their nose on one 20 years ago. I wanna do it so bad tho. I don't know when they got rid of saber but I wanna do that too
Our school just got back colour gaurd this year yesterday was are first practice it was awesome, I like using a flag better but I have a rifle to use at my house.

fall marching has 4 people this year, including me, which doubled last years 2. winter guard is bigger though because people in the band want to do guard but can't in fall
Brianna Mae guard does it with marching band for field season which is the first semester of school. this video is the winter season of guard which goes on for the second semester. competitive drum lines do the same.

Color guard is part of marching band, and keeps a visual of the beat while adding furthet visual entertainment the music and marching band itself. Please do not put down a tough sport simply because of one video. If you tried the sport, you would see how difficult and rewarding it truly is, representing music with your flag as an extension of your body. sorry I went on a tangent, but color guard isn't lame.
Sabrina Vargas I think youre confused. I've don color guard and winter guard for three years now. I KNOW HOW HARD THIS AMAZING SPORT IS. I wasn't putting it down at all i was just saying this person doesnt know what it's about after only watching one single video and shouldn't be doing putting it down. I love color guard it's my life. It has been for a while now. It's my passion, it's not easy what so ever. But it's surely amazing and so different then anything else in this world. Sorry for the confusion.
L&Bproductions I know winterguard is MUCH, MUCH more than dancing with flags- I do winterguard at my school. I'm just used to explaining it that way to other people since nobody really understands it any other way most of the time. I've just learned to simplify it for other people so that's why I said it was dancing with flags. Sorry if I offended you!

It's definitely not harder than either. If you're being taught right, rifle is the most difficult to grasp due to the counts.
