I purchased two of these vests. The one I wear has all the attachments that I need and appreciate. The second vest is for those people that I mentor. Many times these are new hunter's and don't have a nice vest that makes the outing comfortable (minus the weather and terrain). The second vest has a shell pouch that I can easily move for right handed verses left. I also attached a water bottle holder so they have something to drink and last I put a cell phone holder so that they can take pictures along the way. I have had many comments about how nice it was to have a well fitting vest that they barely noticed was there. And finally it is extremely adjustable so I can cover a wide range of body types with one vest. Great product and well thought out.
Scott - This is awesome feedback, thank you! My goal with this design was for people to be able to customize it for a vast array of situations, and also be able to re-customize it for different hunts, as well as swap out or upgrade attachments as we go. Love it!! Appreciate you. -Jake
Starting the second year with mine and totally love it. My back appreciates it more. After one season in grouse woods and South Dakota cattails there is no sign of wear. This thing is built to last.
Got a new pup after losing both our old dogs in the same year. We are going to make up for lost time upland hunting here in ND! Your stuff looks great, hopefully I’ll pick one up someday!
I use my vest for upland hunting in california, quail and chucker. It can handle my 3 liter hydration bladder for those long hill climbs. I also use it for deer hunting in Montana. Great product will it for many seasons.
Love it! I'm always excited to hear how many people are multi-purposing their Chief vests for big game too (and other small game besides birds). Thanks for your feedback and support. -Jake
I’ve been through so much gear and hands down this has been the best vest I’ve owned! Can’t wait to see what else you guys come out with I’m sure it will be great
Everthing about this vest is solid. But, there's 1 thing that I think should have been better designed and that is the shoulder attachment straps. After I ordered my vest, I found out that the only things keeping the straps attached to the main hip belt is held by 2 piece s of plastic on each side. It's supposed to be customizable so it fit anyone with the molle system. My biggest concern is that the plastic buckles are likely to fail first after season of used and you would have to replace it again costing more money. If those buckle attachment failed there is nothing holding the strap together. The company claimed it's made out of strong plastic, but common it's a $300 plus vest, should it be some other better material or at least sew in? That's just my opinion, but if it doesn't bother you then it's fine.
Thank you for your feedback and I will provide some thoughts/reasoning here. Having the plastic clips that attach the straps to the waist belt is what adds a dimension of adjustability that no other vests offer. You can move this attachment point forward or backward to dial in a true custom fit based on your body type. We have never, not even once, had to replace one of these clips for breaking under warranty (or someone losing one), they really are strong and have been proven in the field. If we made the clips metal, they could add weight, metal gets cold, and also we wanted to avoid anything metal that could potentially scratch your stock. Another reason these aren't sewn in too is that IF by chance one did break, we could just send you a new one and you would be on your way hunting again. If it was sewn in, and needed repair, then you're either shipping your vest back and forth or having to take it to a sewing shop which is time and money. To me, sending you a new clip/strap would be the quickest, easiest and most valuable solution. Hope this helps, and again - thank you for your feedback and support! All the best, Jake (Founder)

Love the feedback and glad you're loving your vest. We appreciate you!
Love my vest! Having both shoulders operated on in the past, being able to load the birds from the front was a HUGE feature for me!!
We love that you love your vest. The front-loading feature was a must for this design! Appreciate you. -Jake
First Season with this Vest Really like it.
Glad to hear it, appreciate you, Kevin! -Jake
