Ill get over it, but pls do spoiler section warning and timestamp to skip to or something for future videos. It looks like i game i want to play. And I love so much about hearing about the background and style and other things around and behind it. Not so much visuals or plot points about actual endings, avoid specifics pls pls pls ok thx for making the video still tho.

I’m not even gonna lie to you the whole “neurodivergent people are cute” or “I can fix her” thing does not make sense to me as a neurodivergent person. This game is extremely good and shows the influence of actions aswell as most likely schizophrenia. This game is originally about a girl with probably schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, possibly BPD, to become an influence in the world, however, people turned it into a “I can fix her” sort of game. Don’t get me wrong, nothing wrong with people taking turns and twisting the game to their enjoyment, but the whole “I can fix her” thing is sort of creating false hope since you can’t really fix a person like you can a robot. I love how much deeper this game goes though.

Hello! Borderline person here! This was one of the insane reasons I adore this game, Ame acts like CONCERNINGLY like myself. I am getting the help I need to address my problems, DBT therapy and I am thankful for an amazing support system. But even with that this is how I act or at the very least feel, ACTUAL representation of the "crazy girl" troupe. Like it is so romanticized, but actually seeing it here- attempting to cover with cute designs all while being unable to due to how toxic abusive or ugly especially to the player it is a realistic view to it. The trend of trying to make mental health cute is bullshit, this game sort of uses that and doesn't hold back from facing the realities- making it less and less desirable as it goes on. Anyways- I remember making my boyfriend play this w me and he laughed so much considering like most of her dialogue are things I've said no joke WORD FOR WORD before. Ame I think is one of the best representations of BPD, at least for me- including the dissociative, extreme self-image issues, and desperate need for attention. Sorry for my ramble! I really adore her, and not shying away from showing how disgusting these disorders can be, all while showing their own viewpoint how difficult and self-destructive it is.

Force people to be "good" long enough, and you get a lot of burnt-out people that are terrified to be even remotely authentic for fear of total rejection. Conveniently however, modern society has offered a loophole in the form of mental illness, where people have a respected and logical excuse to back up their "abnormal" behavior, when really, these people were predisposed to these kinds of behaviors already, but time spent pretending they weren't has created an effect like a rubberband; the more tension they've accumulated, the more violently they spring back. It's more pronounced in the modern era because it isn't just a single person doing it within our respective small communities, but instead a whole global generation feeling suffocated under the weight of glorified homogeneity.

Romanticization of mental issues is harmful. I personally struggled with them and the most haunting feeling was the rampant doubt if I really am not healthy. "What if I'm just pretending and I am lazy?" or "This is just my mind trying to get friends by fitting in." were the types of thoughts that would plague me every time I had a day that could be called good, which meant I could get out of bed and do anything other than stare at the ceiling. It still wrecks me to this day, even after years of therapy, that everything may be fake, almost like a weird case of imposter syndrome.

That sort of behaviour can get really extreme with some mental illnesses. The closest thing I can compare it to is having a sprain or other injury and having to work around it. We're just human dude, it's not that interesting, and we're basically everywhere. Dealing with shit is just part of being human. Like I also have bad anxiety and can describe it as "Thinking about things that make me nervous." Now it doesn't sound that interesting now does it? That's because it's really not. Even my boyfriend with anti-social personality disorder so "spooky" and "interesting" is just a shitposter weeb that can be blunt without thinking and makes up for it afterwards. Like I said not that interesting. Also anyone can develop a mental illness, including you, under the right stressful conditions so it's just part of being human. @camillevalencia9443 Год назад +3

@@AlphaladZXA Yeah basically if you look around anywhere or talk to people with mental illness it sucks for them. It's just another hurdle in life to deal with out of many because it's just 'basic human experience but bad enough to effect your life now'. That's the only difference because every disorder is felt to some extent like being messy or being anxious over a test but when it starts to interfere in your life that's when it starts to be a mental illness. Heck even it can even apply to some forms of schizophrenia since at least 80% of all humans hallucinate when awake for 48 hours which actually makes extreme sleep deprivation hallucinations normal in humans (Every time someone tries to stay awake for as many days as possible they hallucinate so it does seem to be programmed into humanity in general). Heck wanna understand what hypomania's like? Take 2 red bulls at once (Don't recommend but it causes a very similar effect in people). I also described how my bipolarism gets worse with periods and when I mentioned that it's like a period every girl in the class instantly understood what it was like mostly and could sympathize as a fellow human since it finally clicked for them. That's what people kinda don't realize sadly and funnily enough I notice people who have fetishized mental illness or wanted it have discriminated against it at the same time since we're no longer viewed as human and just shows that a lot of people just don't understand how it works (despite these conditions being _very_ human as shown above). I do like seeing people like me improve and accomplish stuff in the same way I would for anyone else though. Mental illnesses do not equal neurodivergence. The whole point of the term is that conditions like autism or dyslexia aren’t actually dysfunctional, they’re just different processing systems with upsides and downsides. The reason why they’re disorders is because they impact the patients life, not because they’re inherently dysfunctional.
Something like bipolar or DID is absolutely dysfunctional. A healthy person in a healthy home should not be developing these conditions. Neurodivergence is something you’re born with and will have regardless of your home or outside environment.
It really bothers me when people throw around these terms without understanding why proper use is important.

There is no evidence suggesting that people are born with DID. I don’t think there is for bipolar either. We don’t know all the factors that go into developing these illnesses and we probably won’t for a long time. All we can do for now is shuffle around their classifications until they seem accurate enough.

A clarification on the whole "I can fix her" thing: the game seems to encourage simulation of the dark paths Ame can take by streaming. One "standard game over" called "Normie Life" is where you make her "Mental Darkness" drop to zero and she decides "naw, I don't need to become famous to feel loved". That technically counts as you actively influencing her to become more well-adjusted mentally. Now, the best argument against the "I can fix her" mindset is in that "removing all responsibility from someone for healing from their issues... will not help them heal and will bring more harm or even abuse on you". That said, the only way I think the game discourages the "I can fix her" mindset *is a VERY VERY HUGE SPOILER BELOW:*
*MASSIVE SPOILER HERE:* P-Chan, as in the player character, is an imaginary friend of Ame's. This is only revealed if you 100% the game, and it _can_ come off as saying "you can't force someone to discard maladaptive coping mechanisms; you can only hope they'll do it themself".

neruodivergent is a blanket term for basically thinking differently. those conditions would fall under neurodiversity. You could develop schizophrenia later in life and then be classified as neurodivergent. Pretty much much anyone can say they are "neurodivergent" in a way, but being schizo/BPD/etc is like the actual disorder which much fewer ppl are (outside of the internet lol). tbh the term neurodivergent lacks meaning - if you have a certain disorder, best to just use that term instead - rather than the blanket term.

    • @floofzykitty5072

I think you somewhat misunderstand mental illness but you’re almost there. There is no such thing as a mental illness that is purely “nurture”. Almost every mental illness has both a nature and nurture element, even PTSD. Some people are more predisposed to certain disorders, others are not.
I suppose if you are predisposed to an anxiety disorder and a stressful environment causes you to develop one you could say it was instilled or inflicted upon you, but the triggering event is more like the straw that breaks the camels back.

    • @bornanime3255

@@floofzykitty5072 I feel like that's different though. That is latency vs full development. Because if we start getting into semantics people can develop just about anything under the right circumstances, so I feel like while sure we can say that there is a nature aspect to it it's not set in stone that it will fully manifest until the right conditions are met to develop that illness. Cuz really people can become anything, so I don't see them as really breaking the camel's back in most instances

They said the first person who coined the first use of neurodivergent was an autistic trans person and they said that everyone who does not have the normal default brain status is neurodivergent. That includes mental illnesses and disorders however some of the autistic community reject that idea but understand why that is the case. They want to have a new term given to those who are actually born with it like adhd and autism. While simultaneously keeping the neurodivergent open to everyone thats not neurotypical. Except the “new term” is yet to be decided. For now

personality disorders (BPD/borderline personality disorder, OCD, schizophrenia to name a few) as considered neurodivergent because they affect the way someone thinks, which is why they're called personality disorders. i believe dissociative disorder are also considered neurodivergent i believe. bi polar disorder is typically considered neurodivergent, but it's a mood disorder and i'm not sure if other mood disorders like depression for example are as well. neurodivergence isn't necessarily a trait but a term used to describe someone who thinks different/ their symptoms or mannerisms because of the autism spectrum or a disorder (like BPD for example). people on the autism spectrum are born with it, and people with a disorder usually develop it as a child, often times the same with mood and dissociative disorders. most neurodivergent people are born that way or develop that way as a child while their brain is developing, but some develop it later in life because of trauma, though it's rare it still could happen! though i am passionate about this i'm not an expert so if you'd like to know more i suggest looking it up online on trusted medical websites or other neurodivergent people's opinions, since it's mostly an opinion thing. i just gave my account of what i know as a person who's neurodivergent with BPD + other things :)

(Spoiler alert for the game itself)
At its face, the game may well seem like an "I can fix her" simulator, but if you get deeper into various metaphors and details of the game's narrative across different endings, it is arguably possible that P-chan is likely a fictional character in Ame-chan's own head. I know this is still subjective and everyone may have their own interpretation, but if you view it in this way, the whole game immediately is all about Ame's own struggle and (maybe) redemption of her neurodivergent self. It made me reflect on interaction we have with well known people on the internet and unhealthy parasocial relationships.
Suffering from mental health condition (whether I'm classified as neurodivergent or not), this whole "I can fix her" or "ND woman are so hot" whole thing was pretty unconfortable, but I knew it was going to happen with the rise of "jirai-kei" since 2020.
Also I would like to add some informations about this subculture and their "fashion".
This style of clothing wasn't originally tied to it and was just called "girly-kei" (wich is essentially a type of kawaii fashion) but this J-fashion boomed in the Jirai/menhera spaces but it isn't the only one fashion associated with them.
What I'm trying to say is that Jirai/menheras are less a fashion but more a subculture, unhealthy or not. It really is a big summary of this whole complex topic that I was able to grasp as a J-fashion enjoyer (mainly into lolita fashion).
I'd recommend checking DIFFERENT blogs that explains in depth the whole thing, be aware that it has heavy subjects and is not meant for everyone.

Ppl need to learn that being unstable is a reason to avoid relationships and get help first, cause no matter how much you feel companionship would feel like paradise in comparison, the chance of you just spreading your suffering to them is astronomically high.
All those attracted to broken ppl, are textbook examples of looking for abuse and subconscious enabling, if you’re attracted to that you’re also not fit for relationships and need therapy.

I find it sad that it's become trendy to show neurodivergent behaviour. Mostly sad on two part in my opinion.
First off the two is that they only show a certain selective part of neurodivergent behavour that they find "interestin".
Like I myself have ADHD and have my troubles, but that in the trends it's mostly seen as something not that bad and just you cannot focus or are hyperactive, but that's far from the truth in what struggles there are in day to day life.
Secondly it makes people self-"diagnose". I'll keep to what I know of stuff. And that is ADHD.
You see people in the comments of those videos saying that now they finally know why they can't focut at school or something like that.
But it's not so black and white with those things. In my opinion it's harmfull to say you have something via self-diagnosis.
My opinion on this stuff is very negative and I wish it would just not exist, but everything I see on social media on ADHD makes it feel like I lost the lottery on it and got all things worse. The only place that is not so intense is Reddit, but that's got it's own problems.
This comment is one part of my troubles, sitting at midnight ranting about stuff instead of sleeping.

I only recognized one of the dances from the "Internet Overdose" song (probably a fanmade edit). That's my only knowledge of it. I didn't even know it was a game and collab with my favorite rhythm game until the Steam recommendation 3 days ago. The tags got me to buy it, and so far, it's pretty great.

Honestly, I bought the game on a whim mostly because I'm a fan of the game's character designer, and I recognised their style from a mile away. I am interested to see how the anime will adapt the source material. With so many endings, my guess is that it will take an anthology approach.

I played this game long ago when was really into the story of it, but I never knew it was THIS popular. I didn't even know the internet yamero song was from the game.

Guess who’s out of the loop again. You’ve got my back though ahah. I swear what you said about wanting to create a trendy dance is what so many companies are after when advertising their game or anime and it can be kinda cringe when they don’t succeed. The neurodivergent bit is just crazy to me but people do anything for clout so… also the music video’s style is so asdicting like there are a billion things happening in an instant, no way it wasn’t gonna go viral, just like this video, right? Because it deserves it. Too good ✌️

just as someone with dissociative identity disorder, she defo doesn't have it- she has a very consistent self-identity even if it changes a lot, and she doesn't suffer from memory issues like those with did do. just thought id say so, i suggest being a little more careful with throwing around diagnoses like that, even if it is in a fictional context ^^
and be very careful delving into fakeclaiming disorders!!!! the issue is very true but it needs to be handled with EXTREME care because those who fake those disorders means they have some other issue and still need help

I have bipolar type 2 disorder, clinically diagnosed when I was 16 by a psychiatrist. I love this game for its aesthetics, though I will say that I will never understand the appeal of romanticizing mental illnesses. I wouldn't wish bipolar disorder on my worst enemy, much less some random girl with daddy issues.

Its wild bc even some of the people who claim being neurodivergent is a trend will still clock neurodivergent behavior and treat those people differently, often times without even realizing it. Like. We can say these people are following a trend all we want but oftentimes its just people trying to figure out whats wrong with them when the current state of healthcare means getting formal testing and diagnosis is nearly impossible.
Oof, also, some of these sources are sus. *Romanticizing autism* is such a weird take for a doctor to make, especially since autism isnt a mental illness, its a neurotype. Its just how some brains function. And its severely undiagnosed, because all of the early research done was on little white boys, meaning there are just generations of undiagnosed women just struggling to get by and not understanding that theres a reason everything is so much more difficult for them.

As a person with ADHD, people that say neurogivents are cute is irritating, while I can cope with my ADHD, its like a misfired dynamite, there are moments I can't handle it, I *may* have other mental issues I have, but I need to be diagnosed by an actual professional, so this comment might change once I actually visit one.
If you're seeing this comment, I hope you have a good day

It's all catchy, nice and on the biggest social media platforms. The message it's sending though is, to put it shortly, "go touch grass". Basically, get off the internet. The anime short is about an extreme otaku who hallucinates KAngel. He says that he "doesn't want to be in his reality anymore" after seeing her but she replies "No good" pushing him and saying that these dreams can only happen in his reality. It's essentially Nyalra's core message being spoken through KAngel.
It was never about saving her, it was always about showing that in this whole internet fame and parasocial relationships thing, nobody wins. While using the same vehicles that propagate those issues. Bloody genius if you ask me.
    🙏BLESS🙏
