    As a car guy/enthusiast and Alfa romeo 147 owner (not that special but I'm making it to be 😅), I would just like to say that I've found your channel last year, watched all videos and Im glad that you've posted again... these kind of videos are hard to find and when someone wants to do stuff on their car it comes handy... it's not comercial or mainstream type of video but not all of us are here to watch "paid to do stuff". Keep it up and keep filming 💪👏

    Thanks for the video! I'm going to do this on my 159 Ti this spring. Interesting to see how dirty mine is, it has run 240.000 kilometers now. It also had the turbo replaced by the previous owner.

    Install a flash lube system to clean and lube the valves ❤

    Good job! My TBI has 48,000km always on 100 octane petrol and Motul x clean 8100 oil change every 4/5,000km. I will see the result, for now I have checked the NGK spark plugs and they are perfect.

    Nice job and great video! Intake removal seems not too difficult, it looks pretty straight forward.
    the metal shavings are shocking indeed, really strange to see them only on cylinder 1 tough. Could be the weight of the particles and the speed they are traveling ending up at the far end of the intake manifold...
    Will take a look at mine as well, later. I have just finished replacing the cam variations and oil suction pipe seal upgrade on mine.
    I hear you have the same high pressure fuel pump tick as mine (typical TBI). I cannot find a solution on the internet for this, pumps are a bit too expensive to just replace.

    • @939driver
      @939driver  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks man!! I appreciate 🙏🍀 yes I think so as well, because also the particle contaminations becomes gradually less from cylinder 1 up to cylinder 4. Might be due to the flow inside the intake. Great work, your car will definitely benefit from that. And yes the ticking seems common on cars with this engine. Cheers 🍀🇮🇹💪

      Have you installed OEM Camshaft variators or aftermarket? I'm asking cause on my TBI those are shot (most likely due to the oil suction issue and insufficient oil pressure - replaced it with OEM Seal and one or two weeks later I heard of the upgraded seal 😅) they make the car sound like a diesel when it's warmed up.

    Nice video, very good to know, I have a problem with rough idle when cold so I definitely need to do this. I would like more details. It would have been nice to explain more of the steps, including disassembling and assembling the intake. Also, I would like to know the torque numbers of the bolts that you used and also I saw you used some kind of grease on some parts, maybe please explain more what exactly you did for those of us (weekend warriors) who would like to do the same thing at home.

      Thanks man! Yeah walnut blasting your intake valves definitely improves your engine performance. I didn't want to make the video too long so I left the disassembly of the intake out.

    Cool Cars, how many km do you have on the clock? Dis you have Any problems with leaking valve cover, oil in the spark shafts, or oil membrane? Oil consumption ok? I will have to do this when I replace the belts, waterpump. I have oil consumption by 0,5 l on 4000 km. Your M32 gearbox is the first one? Which engineoil do you use? Selina or Motul? Great car - I wish I had your skills 😢

    • @939driver
      @939driver  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes common issue on the TBi's. I replaced the valve cover gasket and PCV membrane. Consumption is good 🍀

    Fabulous car great engine but direct injected engines are just stupid the valves never get cleaned by fuel because of the direct injection into the cilinders after the valves of course
    You might use a flash lube system similar to gas injected engines lpg engines etc
    Great idea ❤

    • @PieterthechiefmanPost
      @PieterthechiefmanPost Месяц назад +1

      Yeah great idea, you should forward your idea to Alfa Romeo, tell them how to build a proper engine 😁👍

    • @EMC2AlbertJans
      @EMC2AlbertJans Месяц назад

      @@PieterthechiefmanPost well the busso engine is still a superb design
      The technology is there
      But all the great looking cars from the range 159, gt, brera all share the same problem being direct injected engines unfortunately
      Besides the superior 1.9jtd engines they are amazingly good besides some minor design flaws

    Wouldn't the bigger intercooler introduce more turbo lag (in the sence of throttle responce)? Because the turbo will then need to compress more volume of air to acheave the same pressure as before, therefore it would need more time to acheive that.

    • @939driver
      @939driver  8 месяцев назад

      Idk. I think a bigger turbo would increase lag, but gain peak output. As for the intercooler I think it spools up the turbo even faster because of more flow and condensed air, thus having a better response.

    Devi cambiare il olio motore più spesso per evitare questi incrostazioni. Ti posso suggerire shell 0w40 + ADDITIVO MOTORE NANOTECNOLOGICO PLATINUM POWER NANOTECH BLUE 380ml X OLIO MOTORE o bardahl xtc 0w40 senza additivi perché già ricco di se. Ogni tanto metti la benzina shell di 100 ottani. Saluti

    Awesome video as always, thanks mate! Will take the intake off from my 159 SWI TBI and also expect carbon build up after 150k km. Just had a H&S Corse stage 1 and approx 15hp was 'missing', wouldn't be surprised if it's related. Considering buying the stuff mentioned in your links. Should you be interested in doing this together with your tools (and get back part of your investment in all the materials ;-) ) please let me know! Cheers
