When I originally saw your post of these on Instagram, I thought it was a high end cookie you had purchased while you were making your Krampus vlog. So, I would certainly say that your cookies look **AMAZING** for being homemade!!!
Hey! I’m gonna give you a tip for decorating whether you like it or not. Fondant isn’t the best thing to be using for decorating biscuits. The thing I use is icing. Just get powdered sugar, add water and dye it! For outlines, add more sugar. For filling it, add more water.

Oh god, as a pastry chef/cake decorator watching you fail at fondant made me sympathize, LOL.
Typically when you're decorating cookies you use royal icing in various flood consistencies for different decorations. Honestly you can use whatever you want, royal icing just looks nice and tastes good. If you're interested in learning about that I suggest you visit SweetAmbsCookies youtube channel, she's an amazing cookie connoisseur.
Fondant can be very difficult to work with if you have no idea what you're doing. If you decide to work with it again try kneading it in your hands first to warm it up. It was cracking on you because it was still too stiff. Roll it out on a flat surface lightly sprinkled with corn starch or powdered sugar so it doesn't stick, and if it gets too dry and cracks again, add some shortening to it until it gets smooth and malleable again.

You used baking powder, which is "Backpulver".^^ The german equivalent to baking soda would be "(Back-)Natron". (I'm baking quite a lot and happen to be a german citizen and also often use english recipes, so therefore I know a bit about this, I think.)
having been a professional baker, it made me sad when you said you hate baking LOL great job! alternatively, you can make royal icing to coat the cookie with ease. its just a mixture of powdered sugar and water. it sets evenly and you can add any color you like. loved the vid! :D

Birds chirp lots when they hear someone talking. Especially in the same room. My grandmother I lived with had a bird that yapped anytime she was on the phone and would stop when she was done lol Quite frustrating. Anyways! Lovely cookies! I think you did a fine job XD

My 4 and 7 year old's have asked me to play this video 5 times in a row now. They love watching you bake Krampus cookies. My kids have always appreciated all things dark and they love the story of Krampus. My 7 year old daughter thinks you're absolutely beautiful.
I should reread the story behind krampus because I remember that at school (we were like 10/11 years) they told us about Krampus (and I live in Germany) and most kids were scared but i was like 'he looks like a goat and I like them' and also asked the teacher 'if kids are mean, then they should behave better' Now i know why she looked at me strange.

Samantha Wu I was wondering the same. I live at a studio apartment so...nowhere to keep the cats away from birds. And I love birds...always so cheerful! The more noise we make the more they seek for attention...
And then I struggle with the idea of keeping them caged... I'd love to turn my my balcony into a bird home...that way they would have nature and space
..but it's too cold and my cats have to have that natural and safe space...and if I now my cats well...one hunted a pidgeon at my moms balcony!! No Way, José! ...

It's been a while since she's had some birds. I just assume she's been outside or in other rooms and places and we haven't heard from them much.
Eva Lima ikr. I have 2 cats and 6 budgies. We let them fly in one room if the cats are not there. And even if they are in a cage we have to keep the doors locked bc cats can sometimes jump on the cage...

It's unnecessary to use gloves unless handling ready to eat food for other ppl. Also, most gloves you can get are not sterile so they're a pointless waste of money.
It is good to wear gloves when making food if you have cuts or any other open wounds on your hands. I think she mentioned about her hand skin condition in one of her videos

She probably has way more control with her serrated knife and fondant than I do with royal icing, but youtube makes me believe that I can do anything lol.
Miriah Marsh haha me too but we used to make gingerbread cookies with royal icing every Christmas and I love the flavour and the memories! 😊
If you like marzipan, you could dye it with some gel foodcolouring and use it in place of fondant as well.
That was my suggestion.

How long normally does it take to bake snickerdoodle I always burn mine a bit
lizzy they are a type of cinnamon sugar butter cookie.
Kas I like mine undercooked so I put them in for only 10 minutes, if you leave them on the cookie sheet they will continue to cook.

When it comes to cooking it really doesn't matter about the looks it's wether the food or whatever taste good that matters in my opinion. I mean yeah it could look awesome but if it doesn't taste good then that kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it ? Yesenia Marie True, But taste is subjective because what might taste good to you other's might think it taste awful. It's all a matter of opinion and taste buds.
I've made these cookies and they are crunchy, and tasted like real ginger cookies. You can use them to make houses, or any shape you want, they are very stiff. I used molasses instead of treacle, and doubled up on the ginger portion. Excellent recipe!!!

When mixing your butter and sugar and eggs, a whisk will work better than a spoon.
I've never used fondant, so it was really interesting to watch you work with it. I would have used regular icing, but I think the fondant actually turned out better. I've been planning to make some ginger bats for Christmas, you've inspired me to experiment with the icing!
