    I like it when farmers are trying different equipment and not just stick to one brand. I understand why some people do because they don't have a lot of choices close to home.

      We have been using Lemken for quite a while. We aren’t really brand loyal we just use what works best

    I love videos like these. So many farmers only post after everything is greased, calibrated and in the field. I got a mental flashback of working on LOX converters in the military watching this.

    I did not know about the exhaust fans in the shop. Speaking from experience, fumes do suck.
    Thanks for showing the exhaust fans. 💫

      I just knew eventually somebody was going to comment about the fumes in the shop so I figured I should probably show them that we do have exhaust fans.

    I would check for air leaks on all the fittings of the suction side of the pump. Other than that, I would just dump some fluid into the white tank to prime the pump.

    It sure is pretty. You're going to get it dirty in the fields, but it'll be worth it if it works as good as it looks. 😊

      Yeah, it will get a little dirty, but we always wash it off when we’re done

    The tires on the front got me scratchin my head

    • @RockyMountainFarmer
      @RockyMountainFarmer  5 месяцев назад +1

      So from what I understand they do help prep the seed bed a little bit, but it helps a lot with stability. I know with our old one you couldn’t go much over 7 miles an hour or it would start to bounce, but with the new front tires, it doesn’t bounce anymore.

      @@RockyMountainFarmer I can go along with that then. Here it would be cool for one pass wheat. But wheat isnt always grown here. Double crop soybeans can be 80 bu to 10 . And wheat be 110 to 40 . West tn

    • @danishpuma
      @danishpuma 4 месяца назад +1

      @@RockyMountainFarmer so if you notice they the front tires have a gap where the tires on a normal (eu config) tractor would be, so i think the idea is to make an even seed bed across the whole whith of the seeder.

    Do you guys try to pay cash for your vehicles/equipment? Some farms lease or buy used. Just wondering because you’re very successful. And your videos are fascinating. Never thought I would be binging to farm videos lol. I got a kick out of you guys buying this equipment and trying to figure it out, like a new toy 😂. It’s wild to me at the same time though those prices and you just buy it and go well we will figure it out.

    • @RockyMountainFarmer
      @RockyMountainFarmer  5 месяцев назад

      We have to finance everything and hope they the year’s harvest can make the payment. We try to look for used equipment when possible but the things we need there isn’t much of a used market. I’m glad you like the videos thanks for watching. Also we are hoping to build a new shop in a couple years

    How wide is that drill?

  • @ileenmcminn2062
    @ileenmcminn2062 5 месяцев назад +1

    At first it was : drop in the hitch pin and hook the rope to the back of the tractor so you could pull it at the end of the field. then it was hitch pin and two hoses to lift the disks. the last i ran had 2 sets of hoses one to raise and lower and the second would fold and unfold the drill and then you would turn a valve and it ran the markers. I've never run a drill withe all this technology!
    How big are the bins? how many acres can you do on a fill?

    • @RockyMountainFarmer
      @RockyMountainFarmer  5 месяцев назад +1

      I believe the total capacity is 150 bushel. It is crazy how complicated this equipment has gotten over the years

    • @RockyMountainFarmer
      @RockyMountainFarmer  5 месяцев назад

      We plant around 120 lbs of hard red spring wheat per acre so we can do a little over 70 acres on one fill

      Our last lemken drill was that way but it was not stable enough to go at high speeds. With this setup we should be able to go 10 to 15 mph while planting.
