Interesting to hear y'all talk about it. I honestly didn't think it was more than just a playful joke but I can totally see how it could feel offensive to Kemp (and fans/friends of him).
My favorite runescape youtuber and the voice of reason! I agree rendi had a lighthearted tone and I thought the light competition made it more entertaining, and he is in no way responsible for the viewers who were taking it out on kemp.
Yeah, no shade at Rendi whatsoever, he's a fantastic video maker. The backlash of it all through comments and such was what caused our conversation

@@margauxratcliff8343 yea in my mind, there's no way to make a "lvl 18 fire cape" video WITHOUT highlighting the competition. The whole point of lvl 18 is that it's lower than anyone (specifically kemp) had gone before. I hope kemp takes it well. He seems like a great guy and has handled controversy well in the past.
The video came off a bit too salty to me, but still justified. Kemp's vid title gave the implication that it was done and he was showing how it was done, but obviously that's not the case. It's debatable whether it's friendly or salty, but there's no arguing Rendi got the short end of the stick.

Another big thing that I really resonate with is how eye opening and big this game truly is.
The history of J1imy going through quests or the breakdown of settled using minigames and getting 60sih slayer without slaying or the bank framed makes just looting and rushing in the wildy is crazy!
I never really would have thought about what's really available in training skills or playing this game if it wasn't for all of your guys series.

In response to the discussion here, I will highlight some points for going the direction I did with the video.
1. I wasn't actually going to target anything in the video at all towards Kemp in the video, and we didn't have any "bad blood" as Settled said. **UNTIL KempQ unfollowed me then followed me again to notify me on Twitter had unfollowed just because of a simple name change joke on a game, and I thought this was extremely childish.
2. I didn't appreciate someone milking content for 2 million views and false information for over 2 years with no end and no response, although we never hear this end of it in the podcast. Ever seen "Content Cop"?
3. I didn't appreciate falsified thumbnails on his videos showing him wearing the cape for 2 years and 500+ people at the GE harassing me because of these thumbnails.
4. Lastly, I do not condone the comments made by these crazy individuals on RUclips towards KempQ, and never will. Anyone reading this please do not obviously harass KempQ, as I would never condone such behavior and nothing in the video should condone this kind of toxic behavior.
5. I could have been straightforward and said all of these things and more in the video ^, but obviously I decided to take the more appropriate approach. Which in my opinion, I thought was a very lighthearted and joking one.
Example: I wouldn't have ever bashed adwaam or xzact if I somehow someday beat their inferno record, because they never released a 2 year series with false information on how they were "going to" beat a record" with falsified thumbnails. AND they also had a prior record to beat.
Thank you for chiming in on this. We definitely didn’t want this to lean on a certain side or pick sides but I apologize for seeming like we did. It was a conversation we wanted to have but didn’t know how to go about. Our intentions were to highlight the people attacking Kemp afterwards and we did not go about it exactly how we should have.

From the video I assumed Kemp and Rendi were friends and he was just making a lighthearted "Come on dude it's been months and you haven't updated us." Which he hasn't, I assumed he'd given up on it with the lack of updates. Waiting on Kemp to fire back with an 18.524 firecape.
That said, you said you'd spoken to him about it so perhaps I'm wrong.

Have you all watched Rendi's other videos? The videos are full of jokes that cast a theme through the whole video. Kemp promised us a 19cb fire cape, milked the shit out of the views, and then the idea just disappeared into the abyss just like the gold he rwt'ed.

You have no idea how excited I was to see 3 of my favorite RuneScape RUclipsrs come together. This was truly unexpected.
Regarding the kempq v rendi argument; I find J1mmys take on it kind of out of touch because theres a lot of things you have to take into consideration.
1ST: being KEMP NEVER GOT THE 19CMBT FIRECAPE and rendi addresses this in the first few scenes of the video which also shows "noobs" coming at him and him recieving undeserved "hate" when he was just minding his own business
2ND: Kemp deserves NO hate BUT his 19cmbt videos did recieve sometimes 400k views and there are quite a few of them which is where I personally found him as a creator. He in a way did milk it quite a bit while Rendi sort of put a CAP on it in a way by creating one singular video where he got the cape, showed the strats he used and explained the history of it all which SAYS he got the WR 5 times before so if anyone has the damn AUTHORITY to go and shit on someone who MILKED the 19cmbt fcape for MILLIONS of views but NEVER got it its my man RENDI >:V
3RD i feel j1mmy didnt pay attention to all this and is just projecting his (now bare with me I have a doctorate in psychology(not really)) insecurities he actually has with settled gaining popularity and him being left in the dust which also probably motivated him to make his own series which i personally love.
4TH: settles comment with rendi being distasteful is quite ironic considering kempq was BANNED for RWT I mean cmon! Also to be fair settleds comment really motivated me to go into this hour long search for truth bc in all honesty we're living in the age of metas and ehp, so when it comes to the fight caves theres not much to competition, youre forced to go low until you reach the limit and once u reach it youve set the precedent and then it will turn to who gains the least xp while in the fcaves while being cmbt 18 or w/e so shitting on rendi for doing his damn thing is like shitting on settled for playing uim.
5TH: Framed seems to be the only one to have a decent take on it and goes along the lines that this will motivate them further to create awesome content.
6TH: This sort of speaks on the joke they made earlier about having a god complex and seeing a new rising star creator as a threat when they're in a different lane all together.

edit: that venezuelan joke made me wake up my parents by laughing, 10minute setup for that was worth the wait.
Great episode, also just so you know there is a podcast that has been going on for the better part of a decade called the ProCrastinator's Podcast, or PCP for short. So unless the title is temporary I would recommend just sticking to Procrastinators so as to not incur any troubles that may arise in the future.

I've loved your insanely humorous videos independently and as a result, I've been subscribed for a while. I recieved notification whenever you upload a video and watch all of them. This series is a great concept and love to have in the background while I game out on OSRS! You're sense of humor is awesome and love the idea of this series. Keep it up man
The joke of the 18 combat fire cape went over your guys head, kemp said he was going to get the 19 combat fire cape, but he never did. his 19 cb firecape account didnt get completed and the intro scene in the bank was rendis 23 ish combat fire cape account being looked down upon for not being the lowest anymore(but again he still was because kemps account didnt do it but instead just stopped being talked about), so he had to try to regain his title as lowest combat firecape. Your saying the video wasnt great for taking a few too many shots at kemp or not being friendly but it was a light hearted competition. kemp wanted to get the lowest and then rendi went through his own weird brand of theory crafting to go even lower.
Also on checking it Kemp does mention rendi on the second episode very explicitly giving weight to his comment saying his idea probably wasnt possible.
Such a great podcast. Once you guys got comfortable I was very much enjoying it. The Venezuelan farmers at green dragons joke killed me, PLEASE make more of these because they're amazing
1:19:08 - The greatest moment of this entire podcast
I subbed to KempQ purely for the 19 cmb firecape. Yes, he made some solid content from then on, but jesus christ did he milk that series... I feel a ton of the "hate" for KempQ is because of the recent 'playing properly' series that isn't special, and when Rendi got the 18 cmb firecape, it was more of a relief that this whole firecape dilemma is over.

Don't agree with the Rendi section, you guys basically made something that's clearly banter (at kempq NEVER getting the 19 combat firecape even tho people think he did for some reason? not sure why) seem extremely negative and one sided when you could have just asked Rendi about it? I agree the community going insane at kemp is wrong but this is not Rendi's fault imo

I'm actually pretty glad I clicked on this and stayed until the end. Framed is pretty funny, settled takes jokes well and j1mmy (never really watched much of prior - sorry!) seems quite laid back and is able to keep the pacing of the conversation up well. Overall, a great trio and happy to learn a little more about you guys. Looking forward to episode 2; hopefully a little less topics about the actual game.

Great conversation. But you guys totally missed the fact that Kemp NEVER got the 19 combat fire cape. He said he was going for it. Meanwhile, Rendi always had the record for the lowest cb fire cape. However everyone said his acct was irrelevant because of kemp’s 19 combat fire cape acct...except kemp never succeeded.
Can’t you see how Rendi would be a little salty here? I’m not saying his video is in good taste, I’m just saying that I feel where the man is coming from.
I personally learned that Kemp never got the cape after posting this, and I did end up apologizing to Rendi as I wish we’d approached this differently. It was a conversation we wanted to have but didn’t exactly know how to go about.

I feel like rendi's vid is justified seeing as kemp just pulled up and shat on his record making everyone talk about him beating it, which he never fucking did. Kemp spent ages and ages on a series just to realise that his whole concept didn't work, and I find it sad that people give him credit for an achievement he never got.
If all goes to plan this year I'm gonna smash that in flight food so that runefest doesn't disappoint.

The people commenting on KempQs vids are the vocal minority, it's obvious rendi's video was light hearted and just fun. If you're getting offended over that video, you should get off the internet. Before, when people thought it was kemp that got the cape, they were shitting on rendi in comments and you guys didn't even mention that. Don't let the vocal minority make rendi look bad. Other than that, I really enjoyed the video and I love all of you.

You guys missed that the whole point of the shots from Rendi's video. The shots were directed towards that Kemp milked that content without actually never even making a worthy attempt in achieving it. Im very certain that if somebody came and just took niche content, stealing your potential viewers and fame/clout just because they were first out on the market, you would feel upset. You guys say he created a dilemma out of nothing which is clearly wrong. Rendi made a sitirc critism of Kemp and the shots were very lightweight. He cant take responsebility for his viewers actions.
This is absolutely fantastic, please make this into a series.

And that would just be great to see, a high quality, engaging video of someone taking on some challenge like The Mole, the hardest boss in OSRS, or even some type of series. But yea all in all a best commentator category would be a very good idea.

heres the thing.. Rendi noticed kempQ's very far and in between videos of trying to get 19 combat firecape but KempQ never actually achieved it because he deemed it impossible pretty sure. Then Rendi just 1 up'd Kemp with the 18 cb firecape video and used Kemp's name as a very insidious prank almost.
