Dude - this is what I've been looking for for 5 years!
Two questions: 1) what size hole saw did you use, 2) how much media should I buy? (ref the link you posted)

      1) 2.5" hole saw for a 1.5" uniseal
      2) Well from that link 2 cubic feet would probably be the best bang for your buck. So if you are going to build a few filters inline I would go with that. Otherwise a 5 gallon bucket filled to the top is probably like .7 cubic feet but you will use less than that (maybe .5 cubic feet give or take) so the media can move around, if you go with the 1cubic foot you will have plenty extra and 2 gallons might be to little. Therefore 1 cubic foot might be your best bet even though you will have extra.

    Great video!!
Can I have a quetion about algae??
    I'm preparing dwc aquaponics system.
I think there is no UV light or shade cloth in your system.
Is there any algae problems in your system??
Can I ask how did you avoid algae??

I don't have a UV light, but I do have shade cloth covering the area where the fish are year round.
My water stays clear, and the only algae I get is in my fish tanks. Since the shade cloth is higher up and therefore they still have exposure to sunlight.
The only algae I get is algae growing on the sides of the fish tanks and sometimes just right on the surface of the water. The water surface algae disappears whenever I add an aerator to the fish tank.
And in regards to my DWC area. I don't have algae growing there, except for when water splashing onto one of the rafts. Then I get algae growth on the top of the raft. But since the DWC area is covered with the rafts algae growth is at a minimum.
      Hope that helps.
