- ok so I, like many others, have recently become obsessed with the magnus archives and I am just so enamored by jon and martin that i had to make a widdle something...
and if you aren't familiar with the magnus archives it's a horror/mystery podcast created by jonathan sims and presented by rusty quill. its really good and i'm trying to catch up before season 5 is over!!

It’s so weird to think of this in retrospect and realize Jon’s literally feeding off him. He needs it, he tells him
im not sure at this point? are they far enough where hes actually feeding on them yet? i kinda prefer to think of it as he just cares at this point? even if he tries to hide it? although im not sure about the actual established timeline of *monsterhood*
@@eb33 It's more of a sliding scale than a binary 'Monster Starts Here' line that Jon crosses somewhere.
Jonathan Sims is at this point The Archivist, that means that he has a connection to the eye and in this scene he clearly needs the statement in some fashion. It isn't clear how much is just his regular neuroses and how much is the eye prodding him to feed.
@cak01vej yeah this is just after prentis, so maybe a bit early? I suppose it really depends on how you see it

Hey. Would you mind putting a spoiler warning and a few lines down before the comment? It would be appreciated. I only clicked on the clip because it was early enough I wouldn't be spoiling anything. It's not that big of a deal for me, spoilers don't ruin shows for me, but it is a small let down and there are people that would be really upset to be spoiled by something so big.

I’m doing another full run through the series now that season 5 is here and holy shit, I’d forgotten how early you can see the Beholding’s influence, he NEEDS to hear the statement, he gets sucked into the recordings of the real cases. That eldritch sucker had its claws in deep from the start. AND in the post-statement for First Aid I noticed that Beholding static for the first time, real quiet, when Jon was translating what Diego Molina had been chanting in the hospital and that was only episode 12!
GEEZ youre right! this damn eye is relentless, we need to chuck pocket sand at it
He did his first live statement (making the person answer fully and eloquently) in Episode 13. His first fresh meal, and he feeds on it for years.

these are very emotional moments and u depicted them beautifully but is it weird that i keep getting distracted by how lovely your linework is?? it feels very obvious that you are very familiar with the human body and with knowing what lines to use effectively, idk, im love this

It's crazy how far they have come
The way you draw hands is effervescent (the snail definition, not the dictionary one). I'm losing my mind over how good and expressive they are, I had to watch this a whole second time to see the other things because the first time I was just too busy being in awe of how gorgeous the hands were!! And on that note the rest of this is just as wonderful as the hands I die, I love how grumpy yet soft Jon is and your Martin gives me life, warm comfy boy

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN EVERY HEARTBREAKING WAY!! Their expressions, their hands (their HANDS)....Jon pulling at his hair towards the end really got me.

I still find it interesting that Jon says he zones out when reading the statements. And it shows because his acting skills are phenomenal, both inside and outside the story. Does make me wonder if its by his own subconcious or perhaps an outside force

everyone is talking about how you can see the beholding early on, but nobody is talking about how you can see the lonely's influence on Martin early on. Of course there was him being trapped in his apartment alone, but here we see it in how he ran and he thought the others were with him, but when he turned around they were just... gone
Dude this is the animatic that made me finally listen to tma! I'm coming back two weeks later and now I appreciate it so much more, the jonmartin content is just *chefs kiss* amazing. And the character designssssss omg so good.
