17:00 - When reading closely, we see that God anointed them with the holy spirit. It is read and written directly in the case of Gideon, and indirectly, in the case of Samson, his hair was a unusual link and personification of the holy spirit.

Judges 4;4,5 At that time Deborah, a prophetess, wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel. She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the Israelites came up to her for judgement.
