R.C. Pro-Am II is the sequel to R.C. Pro-Am by Rare. The biggest addition to the game is multiplayer, allowing up to four players to race against each other with the use of the NES Four Score accessory. Another difference is that instead of power-ups and weapons you can pick up on the track, you pick up money that can be used to purchase power-ups at a store in-between races. However, you can still collect rare letters that can spell out a word that can give you power-ups.
FatRatKnight ( tasvideos.org/... ) and eien86 ( tasvideos.org/... ) play the single player mode and complete all the tracks in first place, setting record times with the help of a brute-force bot to both find the fastest path and to manipulate the chance of getting the Letters so that power-ups can be collected as soon as possible. You can read the authors' notes for more details.
This movie has a full Atlas Map encode ( • R.C. Pro-Am II (Any% T... ), which shows the standard encode overlaid on a zoomed out map.

Hey all, TAS co-author here. The first 24 races were finished years ago by FRK, using heavy RNG manipulation and exhaustive upgrade management. The last 12 races were done by me using a brute force search bot. This movie wouldn't have been possible without the help of ktwo, who motivated me to work on it. Hope you enjoy it!

I like how you can see the rental killer kick in right at the end of the city course. They start to perform _way_ beyond their upgrade and agressiveness.
That rubber band AI is sure tight. In the early races, even the TAS bot struggles to get a good distance ahead.
The AI is known to cheat in this game lol

@@Hope4NewDay1 Yes, I know thy are around. But I can understand that sometimes things make them mad, and really it doesn't totally make sense because of how I changed the comment. Still that shouldn't have butted in.

Tool Assisted Speedrun. It is a speedrun made at very slow speed using savestates for demonstrative purposes in order to show off the extreme limits of what is possible in the game as if a god were to pick up the controller and play.

I never even knew it was possible to be anything other than the red car. Or that it was possible to boost off the starting line without a nitro. Never owned or seen this game…discovered it on Nesticle but it’s a great racer. & yeah the AI is ruthless here but the game expects you to spend big $$$ on the heat seeker missiles and all that fun stuff to keep them in check…this run just sticks to the old school weapons and doesn’t abuse them. But even with the perfect inputs throughout the race, 4UP only wins by a car length sometimes!

A 4 player TAS adds strategy. 13 continues will have to be bought and by who. Continues start at $1,000 and get more expensive every time it's been bought. $44,000 to be spent on 'em.
I wonder if Berkley from San Andreas is controlling the murder planes?
A.K.A The Revenge of the Yellow Car after getting destroyed in the previous game.
EDIT: Oh, what? You don't get what i mean? In the first game, the TAS it got, the others were making comments about the Yellow car getting beated, since for this second game, the TAS controls the Yellow car, i thought you would have gotten the joke but.. i guess not because i see 0 likes.
So weird... I remember playing the original soooo much. ...but I don't remember there ever being a part 2. Glitch in the matrix?
This one came out way late in the NES's life cycle. I rented it twice from Blockbuster in maybe 1994 or 1995, but I never remember seeing it for sale at Walmart, Toys R Us, etc.
